Inside a meeting room, several of the managers and executives of the company are currently discussing something while waiting for the chairman to arrive. These people are some of the most trusted people of Yu Bai.
The Jiaolong Corporation is a huge conglomerate of many companies. In fact, it could be considered as an association instead of a corporation. That is because each of the shareholders is actually the owners of each of the businesses that are under the corporation.
But that is only on the surface. In fact, the truth is that all of those shareholders are working under one person, and that person is only known to the outside world as Mr. Yu.
Many called him the domineering Mr. Yu, some even named him as 'the Fiend of the business world', but he did not care. Yu Bai's goal is not that simple, he has a lot of things in mind, and one of those is to provide jobs to many people.
When he was younger, he lost his parents and was raised by his uncle. His uncle is an honest businessman who owns a small retail business. He opened his eyes in a world of schemes and people taking advantage of other people.
While he witnessed his uncle's business slowly withered away, Yu Bai realized something, and that is the business world is not for the faint of heart. This cutthroat world is too gruesome that could take people's lives.
As he grew up, he could see his uncle being taken advantage of and bullied. However, due to his smarts and business acumen, his uncle was able to stay afloat in his business even after his own family left him.
The truth is, Yu Bai's uncle, is not his blood relative. His uncle's name is Tong Lenxiao. And his uncle Lenxiao taught him all of his honest tricks.
But Yu Bai did not learn everything from his uncle. In fact, in his younger years, he began observing, spying, and gaining experiences from his uncle's enemies.
And through that, he learned a lot of things that made him what he is today.
Yu Bai, doesn't like scheming, and that is the reason why he would not put his hands on the mud, he has his professional team for that. For him, the number does not lie. As long as you know how to look at numbers, then you can determine what would happen next.
This is something that he learned from his uncle, of course.
And so, Yu Bai grew up in two worlds, the world of business and the world of normal people. When he stepped into high school was the time when he started to make his plan come to fruition.
From a failing business, Yu Bai and his uncle worked hard to bring about that small retail business and turn it into a multi-billion dollar corporation.
His uncle has already given him the company and is now enjoying his life living a free life. The young man he saved that day and gave his everything was his lucky charm.
And now, that young boy has turned into a handsome man and is sitting in the middle of a long table inside a meeting room.
In front of him is a presentation while the current presenter is sweating buckets every time, he would see Yu Bai raise his brows.
In truth, everyone in the room is watching his facial reaction.
If they could see him not changing his expression, then that means that the presentation is passable. But once his expression changes, then they have no choice but to go back to the drawing board.
So far everything was fine as Yu Bai is not reacting.
Suddenly, the slide presented some graphs and numbers of the projected revenue for the project proposal.
As soon as the numbers were presented, they saw Yu Bai shifting his attention towards the screen.
"This is the moment of truth; I hope the planning department did not make a mistake on this…"
"Please… please let this project pass, for the love of God."
"I hope that this acquisition plan would pass…"
The executives and the shareholders were praying while in their seats.
As everyone is in tenterhooks, the presenter is already shaking. He has already reviewed this and did everything his team could do, but he seems to still be afraid.
After he presented the numbers, he pauses for a while as he waited for Yu Bai's reaction.
Everyone waited with bated breath as the atmosphere turned heavy. Yu Bai's domineering presence and icy expression made everyone feel intimidated.
As the awaited reaction did not come, everyone seems to have their breathing become easier. Some even showed a cheerful expression as they clenched their fists under the table.
The presenter was about to change the slide to end his presentation when suddenly the brows of Yu Bai scrunched.
When that happened, everyone's heart skipped a beat. That was the most feared reaction of all. A raise of a brow means there is something wrong, if two brows are raised, then the presentation and data are doubtful. But scrunching of his brows or him frowning means that the presentation is a failure or something is wrong with it and needed to be redone.
Suddenly, Yu Bai picks up the laser pointer in front of him and then pointed at the percentage.
"That is not supposed to be an 8% increase, but instead 9%..."
When he said that, everyone immediately looks at the sheets in front of them. Their expression was full of doubt, and disbelief, but how could their boss made a mistake with the numbers. And so, everyone was in a panic.
Then suddenly, Yu Bai stood up.
The heart of the presenter and those in the planning department almost go thump. They are all showing an expression of not wanting to hear their boss's next words, but they have no other choice, but to listen.
As the final verdict was about to land, everyone is already showing a disappointed expression on their faces.
"Hmmm… proceed…" Yu Bai said.
With his words, the room fell silent.
"Proceed with the acquisition…" then he walked out of the conference room.
Everyone was silent and did not know how to react.
As soon as Yu Bai's figure walks out and the door closes, the people in the room suddenly shouted in joy.
Upon hearing this, Yu Bai's mouth curves up with a smile. Those following him also showed happiness in their faces.
