Chapter 2: Chapter 2 His name

The man's face was still hidden in the darkness but she could see his outline showing from the little light that the bulb gave. How could she not have noticed this man previously? Was she so engulfed with trying to escape from Alvarez that she didn't know that a man was right there with her in the water?

"Who are you?" Mira asked boldly even though she was still panicking with fear in the pool and instead of a reply, the man was approaching her slowly in the water. As he approached her, she became more afraid and immediately turned around to escape from him. She ran towards the door and tried to open it but it was shut and won't open. She tried consistently but it still wouldn't bulge. Mira became devastated. It was then that she realized that it was one of those doors that would lock on its own as soon as it was shut. She had a door like that in her father's palace and she sighed in frustration that she didn't notice it on time. How could she have known when she was trying to escape getting married to a king with a bulgy stomach?

"Didn't you think that it was left slightly open for a reason?" The strange man spoke to her and again, her fear returned. Could it be that she had managed to escape Alvarez, her mother and the guards only to be faced with a strange man who was behaving as though he was going to kill her? Or was he going to r-pe her instead? She gasped.

"Please! Please don't hurt me! Don't come close! I will do anything you ask but don't hurt me!" She pleaded as she stepped backwards on the pavement while he stepped forward slowly towards her.

Another bulb lit up on its own but she was too concentrated on the man that she didn't bother if the bulbs had magical powers or not. Now his entire body outline was visible but not visible enough to see what his face looked like or what the colour of his skin looked like; It was just the silhouette showing the muscular body build that a man would have.

"Hmmm... You would do anything I want. Interesting." He let out a throaty laugh and soon after that, all the light bulbs in that room came on and that was when Mira had a full clear look at the man before her. In his hand was a small remote and her eyes almost bulged out of its socket when she saw that he was naked.

"Oh my God!" She exclaimed and the next thing she did was to dive back into the swimming pool and he was perplexed by her surprising act. "Stay away from me! Who are you?!" She asked as she was still inside the pool.

"Devile. My name is Devile and I am the second son of Satan." He answered.

"Oh my God! Oh my God, I'm finished! I am finished! Now he is going to kill me..." Mira broke down as she searched around her for anything that could defend her in the water.

Devile found her actions and behavioral attitude to be comedic. He just smirked as he continued to stare at her while she scurried round the water seeking for only-she-knows-what.

"What are you so afraid of, Swimming pool girl?" Devile asked her with an emotionless tone.

"Just stay away from me. I beg you in the name of God, stay away from me." Mira replied with her hand stretched out in a bid to stop him.

"God. Shouldn't I be the one begging you in the name of God to stay away from me? You are the one that barged into my suite and so I should be the one acting like you right now."

Now that she thought of it, he was actually right. Wasn't she the one that barged into his suite without permission? She should apologize instead of harassing him, after all he hasn't laid a finger on her. At least not yet.

She was about to open her mouth and say something when an elderly man who looked to be in his 50s and dressed in a black suit came in from outside the door holding a folded white towel. From the look on his face, one could tell that he was surprised at the scenario but looked more surprised to see her there in the water.

Mira was expecting the old man to say something but instead, he minded his business and went straight to present the towel to Devile, bowing before him slightly. He collected the towel and wrapped it around his waist and then he turned towards the man who looked like he was a steward to him and said to him;

"Don't let her leave. I still have unfinished business with her." Then he tapped him on his chest and headed towards another direction and that was when Mira realized that there was another door in that place. A door leading to his room perhaps.

It was all too much for her to take in. What exactly did he mean by "Don't let her leave." Was he trying to hold her captive? It didn't seem like it though but she was determined to find out.

While she was still in the water, she looked at the man that was standing opposite her on the pavement but the man didn't seem to want to look at her. She knew that she wasn't going to remain in the water forever so she had to come out of it. How she hated the situation that she was in at that moment. She walked gently towards the man, her body still dripping with water and then she gave the man a warm smile and greeted him.

"Hello. I am Zamira but you can call me Mira for short. I can assure you that whatever you are thinking isn't what is happening. I came in here by mistake and I can go back the same way if you don't mind."

"Sorry miss but my boss has given me strict instructions not to allow you to leave this place." He bowed his head slightly, giving her a friendly smile afterwards.

"Oh I see... But is your boss going to hurt me?"

As he was about to reply, Devile called out to him from inside his room.

"Tom, you can bring the lady in now."

Oh! So the old man's name was Tom. She thought. He definitely looked like a Joe because most people that bore the name "Joe" were short and they had big bellies and they were cute too. Too bad his name was Tom, she was calling him Joe in her head before Devile called out his real name.

"Okay miss. You have to come with me." Tom gestured his hand towards the direction of the room and what more could she do at that point? She had no choice but to follow him silently.

As soon as Tom led her into the room, he bowed and turned around to leave. With the little time that she spent chatting with Tom, she already perceived that he was a good man and he was only performing his duties. Every servant at her father's palace was like that too so she couldn't blame him.

She then looked around her surroundings and saw that truly, she was indeed inside an executive suite. Initially she had thought that it was just a room but she was wrong -- she was standing in a spacious parlor. There were deluxe gold color cushions seated on the marble floor. The curtains were black and they had some floral imprints on them, and above her was a very big chandelier which added more light to the room. The parlor smelt of perfume and everything in that room screamed of luxury.

At some point, she began to wonder how Alvarez was able to build this beauty that she was seeing. She initially thought that he was just a senseless king who wanted to exploit young girls for his self satisfaction. She never believed that he could imagine creating something as beautiful as what she was beholding. Now she was standing all alone in that place wondering where the almighty Devile was.

Now speaking about Devile, where the hell was he right now? Wasn't he the one that just called Tom a few minutes ago? She was still wondering about his whereabouts when she heard his voice from behind her.

"Looking for me?"

As soon as she turned around, she saw him standing behind her with his towel still wrapped around his waist. At least she was grateful that he had his towel on. But goddamn, he was a living god. She hadn't really taken a good look at him back at the pool, probably because she was scared but now that she was feeling more comfortable, she could see the man that stood before her. His hair was black and short and from where he stood she could see how curly it was. His fine toned chest which looked solid as rock and his broad muscular shoulders was a beauty to behold. At that moment she was lost in thoughts. She had seen many men in her life but the one that stood before her was exceptional. She was sure that she hadn't met him before but somehow, she thought that he looked familiar to her.

"It is time for you to fulfill your promise." Devile said to her, his voice distracting her from her long train of thoughts.

"What promise?" She inquired confusingly.

"Doing what I want of course." He answered her in a condescending tone.
