"Veau!" Hana reached out, grasping onto the ends of his robes. "Yo-you have to help them! Xue! And K'xug!"

The sunlight from the doorway streamed in, revealing half of Veau's face. There was his usual smile on his lips, but this time, it appeared sinister.

"Why should I?"

Hana froze.

"Why not?! Aren't you friends?! Don't friends help each other?! Xue and K'xug even said you were like brothers to them!"

"But they aren't," Veau shrugged. "Friends or brothers."

That's when the realisation hit Hana straight in the chest.

Zeau and Veau weren't on their side.
