Chapter 297: Give me back my grandaughter

The moment Sydney's father's words left his mouth, everything around me seemed to freeze.

The weight of his accusation, combined with the overwhelming presence of both Sydney's parents, made it feel like the air had been sucked out of the room.

They stood before us, their eyes burning with pure, unadulterated hatred, as if my mere existence was an affront to them. 

"You killed our daughter," Sydney's mother echoed, her voice trembling with a dangerous edge. "And now, you're going to pay."

I swallowed hard, trying to keep my fear from showing. Zaya, Lydia, and Isabel stood close, their bodies tense and ready for whatever was about to come.

But even with their strength, there was no denying that we were facing two of the most powerful vampires in existence.
