"You're really something, Elena," Zaya whispered, her breath warm against my lips.
Just as she was about to close the distance, the door to my room burst open, and a voice called out, "Elena."
We both jumped, turning to see who it was. My heart was still racing from the near kiss, and I felt a mix of relief and disappointment at the interruption.
The air seemed to crackle with the intensity of the moment broken too soon, my skin still tingling where her breath had brushed it.
"Isabel," I said, my voice shaky. "What are you doing here?"
