After class, the afternoon was wide open, the sun dipping low in the sky but still warm enough to make the idea of staying inside unbearable. Chloe, always the spontaneous one, nudged me as we left the school building.
"Hey, you want to go for a walk?" she asked, her eyes bright with excitement. "We could get some ice cream or something. It's too nice out to just go home."
