Chapter 426: I am your father

They began to question their allegiance, torn between their duty to the king and the realisation that their lives and those of their loved ones were also at stake.

As the nobles fled a few courageous soldiers broke free from their internal struggle. They joined forces with Qie Xieling and fought beside him including Bi Yu. Together, they fought back against the king's guard, their combined strength overwhelming the defenders of the King.

Amidst the chaos, Bi Yu said to Qie Xieling, "Get the king. We will hold them off for you!" Qie Xieling nodded, his eyes blazing with determination, and he darted towards the fleeing king, eager to bring him to justice and finally bring peace of mind to Luo Muchen. 

His heart raced as he chased the king through the labyrinthine passageways. But just as he thought he had gained ground, he was intercepted by the king's loyal attendant. For him to serve the king he had to be a formidable force.
