Saved But Broken

Chapter 1: Running

Lucy POV

I'm running through the woods with my muscles aching and mind begging me to stop. But I won't. I can't.

I can't hear the wolves behind me, not anymore but I don't stop running. I won't let them take me again. I'm already broken from what they did to me. You are not broken. You are just afraid. It is natural. My wolf, Luce, chimes in. Trying to make me feel better. But I don't feel better at all. I'm scared, very scared.

I haven't noticed the change of smell in the air. It was the smell of a pack, a big pack with alot of strength. Witch means the Alpha is strong, very strong. I was on their territory! I turned around but before I could run, a wave of dizziness washed over me and I collapsed on the ground. Before everything went black I heard a threatening growl above me and saw a brown wolf staring down at me bearing it's teeth and everything went black.

When I woke up, I was lying on a cold, hard surface. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was in a solid concrete room with a tiny cot in the right corner, infront of me. I hear a door behind me open and I whirl around and see a man walking in. I crawl backward away from the man until my back hits the bed. I curl my legs to my chest and fold my arms around them. Trying to cover myself up as much as possible. Just then the man's deep voice chimes into the air. "Good, your awake. Put this on." He ordered throwing a shirt at me. I caught it but, man is he rude or what? I glared at him until he said. "Someone will bring you food in a bit." He turned on his heels and walked out, slamming the door making my ears ring.

I quickly pull the, to large shirt, over my head and climb onto the bed. I ly down and curl up in a small ball and look at the wall, trying to gather my thoughts. As I was about to drift off to sleep the door creeked open and by the smell of it, a male wolf stepped in. NOT the same one as before. He dropped a tray and it made a deathening thud around the cold room. Before I can turn around to look at him and pick up the food to eat, an agonizing pain shot through my back and I couldn't stop the scream that escaped my lips. I felt a liquid slide down my back and I realized he whipped me. There was another searing pain and I screamed again." Please, please stop." I whimper just above a whisper but I knew he could hear. But he doesn't stop. He whips me over and over again. When he finally stopped I was crying. My body racking with sobs. He left the room shutting the door. They didn't even ask for any answers they just hurt me. Let me take over. I can help us heal Lucy. Let me help. No, I won't cause you more pain then you already endured for me. I am strong enough for the both of us. Let me help you Lucy. With the growing darkness on the edges of my vision, I let my wolf take over my body. Luce, if it starts to get to much to handle. Let me take over. I will, I promise, Lucy. Now sleep. Please. Just like that I drift into darkness.

Deric POV

Ever since I woke up this morning I've been annoyed and snapping at people for no particular reason. Right now I'm sitting in my office doing some paperwork, trying to stay calm.Until... "Alpha there is a rogue on the edge of our territory" one of my gaurds inform me with the mind link. I'm really not in the mood for this."Put it in the cells and punish it till it offers us information about itself" I order my gaurd and get back to work. "Alpha, the rogue is a girl." I was surprized at that because it is very rare that a she-wolf is a lone rogue without a male. Being a girl doesn't change her fate though. "And it doesn't matter. I gave you an order!" I roar through the mind link and the gaurd obey's. After three hours of work I stood up and went to bed. I couldn't sleep though. My wolf Eric was restless. It has been 7 years that we've been looking for our mate, but we haven't found her. So we gave up and because of that my wolf is annoyed because he is depressed. So I lay awake in bed staring at the ceiling like an idiot. But just before I fell asleep I catch a faint scent of a thunderstorm mixed with vanilla. And before I can place it I fall asleep. I just can't win today.

Lucy POV

I've been here in this cold room for 2 weeks. I've been getting little food once a day at midnight but its still more than what the rogues gave me. I escape one prison only to run into the next. The Alpha hasn't come seen me and I can't deside if that's good or bad but the gaurds have been torturing me everyday, either with a whip or beating me up with their fists and legs. I was lying on the cot, facing the wall, when the door opened behind me. The scent of the woods and fresh rain filled my nostrils. I was covered with the blanket so the man at the door couldn't see any of my injuries. "What's your name rogue?" His deep voice fills my ears. Although I want to obey but my voice is gone from all the screaming. "What's your name?!" He tries again but this time he screams and it has so much power in his voice I can't help but whimper in fear. "Damnit!" He shouts as he slams the door shut as he leaves. "Teach her a lesson for not listening to me! Now!" And like good minions they obey and my cell was filled with my screams and more of my blood spilled.

After another week of torture and more agony, I was lying on the stone floor facing the door when it creeked open and the Alpha stepped in acording to the scent of woods and fresh rain. I can feel his eyes on my face, so I open my eyes and look up, looking directly in the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen. The moment our eyes met a gasp escaped his lips and at the same time, Luce said something I never thought she would. Mate!!! Before I could react blood loss was creeping up on me and my eyes started to flutter. Before I blacked out I heard the Alpha's deep voice in panic now and not anger. "Get me the pack docter! Now! Get her to meet us at my house!" He shouted at someone and then there were warm arms around my cold, bloodied body and I was lifted off the floor. A quiet whisper from the Alpha, my mate was the last thing I heard. "I'm sorry" in a pleading voice. And everything went black. The last thing I saw was his beuatiful blue eyes.
