Chapter 13: Cedric and the dragon of darkness I
I kept looking at him in an angry way but my duty was to protect that Leopard, I was a little far from Caleb but in sight of the dragon, as I did not know what I would do I preferred to face him and then in case I had wounds I could heal myself.
He came closer to hurt me but I was able to defend myself, not a single animal made noise only the Leopard that was still on the defensive, but the whole forest and the nearby animals were witnesses of a fight and none of them did anything because it could make things worse, I managed to hurt him a little with kicks and cuts but I did not imagine that this only made him stronger, I was a little agitated as he managed to make me move a lot but I was not going to give up, I decided to drop the daggers and focus on magic, so I decided to make a shield but that was an opportunity for the demon to attack me.
When it attacked me and I was about to dodge it, a man with a black fake skin appeared and threw me to cover me from a cold that I still couldn't feel, but when I was about to speak I heard his voice a bit agitated and loud asking me if I was ok along with a scolding and then I noticed that it was Cedric who was in front of me.
I wanted to ask him how he had found me but I knew it wasn't the time so I used magic to heal my slight bumps and thus healed the Leopard in case he was hurt. For some reason I felt the waterfall calling me so I fetched water from there and wet my forehead and the animal's wound so it would be cool and not hurt so much.
For some reason I heard the dragon asking me to calm down, I didn't know why he had said that but he was right that now I shouldn't think about anything and just focus on the enemy, as I calmed my magic the wind made it stronger and as I was near Cedric I said: be careful, don't stay too long near him.
He just smiled and from there he took out a sword similar to a katana where he gave him light cuts keeping the distance, whenever he moved away I used the wind to impact on his chest as a propellant, and then I changed to the earth element to be able to hurt him and prevent any other animal from getting hurt.
Somehow we combined the blows and synchronized the attacks either melee or distance, what we did not imagine is that when he was already very weak the same animals including the Leopard would attack him and only an ink stain would be left of him.
I looked at the Leopard curiously and then I saw how he lowered his head a little, so I approached him and said in a soft tone: I know you did it to help us but you were in danger anyway... besides, sometimes it is good to let others take care of us.
Then I noticed how he looked at me in a tender way as if to say 'excuse me' he let himself become fond of me and I could tell that the Leopard was in a state to which Cedric in a curious tone says
Cedric: just like in the old days, it seems that your essence has not and will not change.
I laughed at what he said but I couldn't laugh too much because first something caught my curiosity and then it was a pain I had hidden from Cedric.
