Chapter 7: Extremis
The next morning
Reese joined Tony at lunch with Rhodey as they talked about Tony's health. Reese sighed "You're not going to get anything from him Rhodey." Tony scoffed and said "That's rude." Reese chuckled "I told you to sleep yesterday and you made suits all night." Tony chuckled grimly and ate his food as Rhodey said "Anyway leave the mandarin stuff to the government." Reese leaned back and sighed as he thought about the mandarin, he was the extremis if he remembered correctly, he really didn't remember much except for the fact that Tony's house exploded and all of Tony's suits exploded at the end.
Reese was brought out of his thoughts by kids who came to ask for his and Tony's autograph, Reese smiled and said "What's your name pal?" the kid said "Andy." Reese autographed the picture and added 'to Andy' on it, the kid brightened up and cheered as he ran to show his friends. Tony stared at the picture and had flashbacks to the Chitauri invasion as he wrote 'help' on the picture. Reese snapped Tony back to reality and said "Time to go home yeah?" Tony blinked and said "Yeah. Let's go."
Reese said "See you later Rhodey." Rhodey rubbed his temples and said "Just take care of him for me." Reese chuckled and replied "Of course" before turning to the kids and saying "He's a superhero too, his name is Discount Ironman! He works for the army!" Rhodey grit his teeth and one of the kids said "Is he cool?" Reese waved his hand and said "So-so." the kids made awkward faces and ran back to their parents after getting the autographs as Reese laughed.
Rhodey snapped "What are you trying to do here? Is this fun for you?" Reese slapped the table as he laughed and said "Extremely! Hhahahahah" Rhodey grinded his teeth and spat "I hope people stop liking you." Reese wiped his eyes as he patted Rhodey's shoulder and said "Don't worry, if you fight some aliens they'll like you too. Never heard of a superhero working for the army." he shrugged and threw his hands up.
Rhodey said "Isn't Shield part of the army?" Reese tilted his head and said "Do I look like i'm fighting wars to you?" Rhodey sighed "Why me..." Reese laughed and said "See you later Rhodey." before leaving with Tony, Rhodey waved weakly as they disappeared.
Tony suited up and the duo flew away. Reese said "Take a deep breath buddy, I don't see any aliens here." as he barrel rolled and looked around him, Tony chuckled and said "I can see that." Reese smiled and said "So? What are you scared of? Aliens schmaliens, the only threat is the man, man." Tony said "Big Lebowski?" Reese flew up saying "We have a winner!" Tony laughed and shook his head before saying "Are you ever serious?" Reese said "Not really, except if it's really important. Should I be like Cap?"
He made a straight face and said "Protect the civilians! Destroy Hydra! Tony you need to be more serious." Tony burst out laughing as they flew back home. The duo flew into Tony's lab and Reese went into the G-Chamber as Tony started working on suits again while the time flew by.
Night rolled around
Reese stepped out of the G-Chamber as Pepper walked down the stairs, she looked over and saw Tony watching the news and Reese said "Busted." Pepper walked in and said "Remote control suits?!" Tony said "I'm sorry.." he began explaining to Pepper what was going on with him, and his nightmares, telling her that he can't sleep so he comes down here and makes new suits for every situation. Reese slipped away and went up the stairs, deciding maybe it was better for him not to third-wheel in their personal relationship conversation.
He walked up the stairs and saw Gwen, she smiled at him and said "I missed you!" Reese brightened up and said "Ah my angel's back!" as he hugged her, Gwen giggled and said "Gross! You're all sweaty!" Reese said "I'm scared of being alone in the shower!" Gwen rolled her eyes and said "Huh? Maybe I should join you?" she maybe a thinking pose before shaking her head "That won't work, i'm not strong enough to save you." she sighed "Looks like you'll smell forever."
Reese laughed and put her on his shoulder as he quipped "Nonsense! We're stronger together!" Gwen giggled and held her head with her hands as she said "I met a guy at work today." Reese said "Yeah? Thinking of getting a sidepiece?" Gwen slapped him and said "No idiot! Are you?!" Reese shook his head and said "You're the only one I need." Gwen nodded in satisfaction and said "I better be. Anyway, his name was Aldrich Killian. Weird name if you ask me."
Reese added "Maybe he's part of a cult and they all have weird names." as he made his way to one of the bathrooms, Gwen laughed and said "Like Hobert Millstone." Reese burst out laughing as he said "Hobert Millstone?" Gwen covered her face as it turned red from embarrassment and said "I tried to be funny!" Reese laughed as he went into the shower.
A while later
Reese was sleeping when an Ironman suit broke into his room, Reese woke up and tackled the suit to the ground and said "Deactivate." the suit shut down and Reese put it outside the door before sighing and crawling back into bed mumbling "Can't even get sleep around here..." as he fell back asleep while hugging Gwen.
The next morning
Reese got up and yawned before walking out of his room and tripping over the suit and face planting into the ground, he groaned from the ground and Tony walked out of his room. He looked over at Reese and the suit before bursting into laughter, Reese turned his head and said "Something funny metal boy." Tony choked and said "Don't call me metal boy again." Reese stuck out his tongue and said "I'm just going to lay here.." Tony shook his head and got a phone call "Hello." his face turned ugly as he said "I'll be right there." Tony hung up and said "Take a raincheck chief Happy's in the hospital."
Reese sighed and got up, he looked in his room and said "The girls went to work?" Tony nodded and said "Get your clothes on, we're driving." Reese walked back into his room and came back out with a wife beater and a hoodie with shorts and slippers, he had sunglasses on along with his watch as he said "Get to the choppa." Tony walked downstairs saying "Not the time Arnie."
Reese and Tony reached the hospital where Happy was and wlaked into Happy's room. Reese said "Holy shit man." Tony frowned and looked at the reports and said "Explosion, Chinese movie theater." Reese added "Why can't he just be a normal security guard.." Tony said "Sometimes I wonder that too kid." as he checked over Happy's health after making sure everything was okay the duo left.
They were swarmed by reporters asking what actually happened to Happy, Tony ignored them all and Reese whistled as he hopped into the passenger seat and pulled out his phone, texting Gwen to go to his old house for today and to bring Pepper with her. A reporter said "Are you going to kill the Mandarin and end his war against the US?" Tony stopped and said "My name is Tony Stark and I'm not afraid of you. I know you're a coward so I've decided that you just died, pal. I'm going to come and get the body. There's no politics here; it's just good old-fashioned revenge. There's no Pentagon, it's just you and me." He gave his home address and smashed the reporters phone before getting in the car saying "Send me the bill for that." and drove off.
Reese laughed in the car saying "I already told the girls to go to my house, hopefully I don't have any squatters." Tony chuckled and fumed "Bastard, attacking Happy..." as he gripped the steering wheel tightly. Reese sighed "Can you really kill a person though?" Tony spat "We're gonna find out aren't we."
Reese answered his phone "City morgue." Gwen said "What happened?" Reese said "House go boom. You stay at my old place, I sent you the address. DO NOT come to Tony's. Do you understand? This is extremely important." Gwen said "Okay. What about the stuff?" Reese said "Just clothes?" Gwen said "Yeah and some make up." Reese replied "I'll buy you new ones, and you don't need make up. You already look like an angel, anyways I love you gotta go. Go to my old house." Gwen said "Love you." before hanging up.
Tony said "House go boom?" Reese laughed "Terrorists usually use bombs no?" Tony sighed "There goes the nice house." Reese shrugged and said "We can rebuild him, we have the technology." Tony slapped him and said "No more references in dire times!" Reese laughed as they made their way to Tony's house.
Reese got to the house and drove the Lamborghini away from the house, he really liked that car. He walked into his room and looked around for anything valuable that Gwen might have forgotten, he picked up a picture of the two of them and smiled as he put it in his pocket and bagged up some stuff he thought was important enough to keep and put it all in the Lambo before going back inside and smoking on the couch while watching cartoons.
Tony said "Weirdest image i've ever seen." Reese looked over and said "You've never seen a man with a wife beater and slippers, smoking while watching Bugs Bunny before?" before scratching his head and saying "You know, now that I say it out loud... I haven't either.." Tony laughed "Rabbit season sure is strange." Reese retorted "Duck season." Tony laughed and the front door opened.
Tony turned around and saw a woman, he said "Maya?" Maya smiled and said "Hey. Got your address from a friend.." Reese chuckled and Maya said "I need to talk to you alone." Tony said "I'm in a stable relationship now with Pepper, I can't." Maya rubbed her forehead and laughed as she said "I didn't mean that.." Tony started to sweat as he said "Don't tell me there's a Tony jr. on the loose!" Maya choked and Reese burst out laughing before walking to the window looking at the helicopters outside as he switched to the news channel.
Maya said "The mandarin is going to kill you within the week." Tony scoffed and Reese fired a Ki blast at the oncoming missile, causing an explosion in the air which broke all the windows. Tony turned around and said "Really nice to have you here kid." Reese waved and said "Yeah, I know. I'm pretty great." Tony added "And an asshole." Reese laughed and nodded "A big one." Tony chuckled and another missile was fired but from two different angles, the helicopter in front fired a dozen more missiles before flying away as the mansion exploded.
Reese cursed "Damn Francis look-a-like!" he flew back and grabbed Maya before saying "Even I can't stop that. Let's go, I got Tony jr.'s mom." Maya grimaced and Reese chuckled as he flew away with Tony following him, but Tony got caught in the explosion and said "Bring her to safety! Jarvis take over flight plan! Now!" Jarvis took over and Tony flew into the sky away from the Malibu mansion.
Reese watched him go and landed on the ground as he said "Oh that's cool." before Maya stuck him in the neck with tranquilizer, Reese looked at her and chuckled "I forgot you were working with Killian. Shame, I have to kill you now." Maya was shocked and Reese grabbed her neck and squeezed hard, almost killing her but passed out before he could do it as he mumbled "Unlucky.." before falling to the floor.
An unknown amount of time later
Reese was chained up to the wall with industrial chains on his arms, legs, waist and directly clamped to the wall. He opened his eyes and looked around, he saw Tony, Killian, and Maya looking at him. He chuckled "Hey Tony. Tony jr.'s mom decided to sedate me, how are you?" Tony said "Could be better." Killian said "Alright ladies, does this look like a meet and greet?" Reese scoffed and said "Just start monologuing already. The less I hear you speak the better." Killian grinded his teeth and said "You might want to change your tune kid. Turn on the TV." Maya turned on the TV and Tony and Reese's eyes widened.
Reese frantically struggled in the chains as he spat "Killian, if you touch her I will rip you limb from limb, even if you can regenerate! Your extremis garbage can't save you!" he was seething as the wall behind him cracked. Maya winced and Tony said "Let them go. This is about me isn't it?" Killian said "I want you in desperation, the kid is just a bonus. Inject 'em!" Reese said "NO!" as the men injected Gwen and Pepper with the Extremis virus.
Reese watched as Gwen writhed in pain and screamed with tears in her eyes as her body lit up. Reese screamed "GWEN!" as his chains exploded and his hair spiked up before turning gold. His eyes turned blue and he flashed in front of Killian and grabbed him by the neck saying "You're finished." he held up his other arm and vaporized Maya as he spat. Tony blinked and said "That's the transformation?!" Reese nodded and slowly surrounded Killian with his energy as he said "You like watching people suffer? Does that make you happy?" while tightening his grip on his neck.
He walked over and freed Tony before saying "Where are they?" Killian laughed and said "It's too late anyway. The extremis is already in their system!" Reese seethed and ripped off his limbs as he snapped "WHERE ARE THEY!" Tony watched as Killian's limbs grew back and said "Woah. That's new." as he lifted his hands in the air, recalling his now charged suit.
Killian spat in his face and said "Find them yourself, maybe you can say goodbye before they explode." Tony donned his suit and said "I'll fix it, don't worry." Reese said "You're final purpose has been occupied see you in hell." as he punched through his chest and crushed his heart before stomping on his head. Tony said "That was violent." Reese replied "Can't be too sure with these regenerative bastards. Maybe his heart will grow back? It's annoying." Tony shook his head and said "I know. Anyway the girls?" Reese nodded and grabbed Tony before flying into the air and looking around.
He saw Rhodey and landed in front of him, Rhodey said "Woah, who are you?" Reese said "Put a sock in bargain bin. Where's your armor?" Rhodey said "Reese?!" Tony said "It's the kid. Happy day, can you answer the question now? We're in a time crunch here." Rhodey said "Erik Selvig took it to go kidnap the president. Killian is going to kill him on live TV." Tony said "Not anymore. Jarvis, look for the girls. I can't fly, we'll just take the speedboat." Reese picked them both up and flew into the sky.
Tony said "Or that. Got anything for me?" Jarvis said "Working on it, the debris from the explosion has been cleared, the iron legion is accessible." Tony nodded and Rhodey said "Who we going to save?" Tony said "Both." as he put of a head piece and controlled the suit remotely, flying it towards the Air Force One jet as Rhodey called to inform them about Erik coming to kidnap the president in the Iron Patriot suit.
Reese flew in a random direction still fuming, as Tony said "Got them!" Rhodey called and found out that he had indeed saved all the passengers. Jarvis said "I found them. On board the Norco, there are a lot of extremis soldiers around though." Reese said "Get me a GPS to that." Tony put it on his phone and held it in front of Reese, who looked at it and shot off towards the Norco as Tony said "Jarvis, activate the Iron Legion and terminate extremis soldiers, not including Pepper and Gwen obviously." Jarvis did as he was told and the iron legion flew towards the Norco.
The trio arrived on the Norco and Rhodey pulled out a gun saying "Don't worry I got this." Reese disappeared and vaporized soldiers as he screamed "Gwen!" Tony said "The kid's a little anxious." Rhodey sighed and said "I never get to do anything.." Tony chuckled and the duo followed after Reese, who was still golden, as the Iron legion arrived and started destroying the Extremis soldiers.
Reese ripped through the oil tanker as he searched for the girls before finding them chained up, he flashed over and freed them as he said "Thank god you're okay! I thought.." Gwen hugged him and teared up as Pepper rubbed her wrists and said "That was something.. You're gold now?" Reese hugged Gwen tightly and said "Not all the time." Gwen looked at him and said "It's cool!" Reese smiled and stroked her hair saying "Are you okay?" Gwen nodded and smiled as her hands heated up.
She said "I have super powers now! It really hurt though. Where's Killian?" Reese grit his teeth and said "Dead." Pepper let out a breath of relief and said "Good." Tony and Rhodey arrived and Tony hugged Pepper saying "I'm glad you're okay" Pepper hugged him and said "The kid said the same thing." Tony clicked his tongue and said "Great minds think alike." Rhodey mumbled "I need to get a girl, I'm always fifth-wheeling over here.."
Tony held Pepper's shoulders and said "I'll find a cure, I promise. My relationships are always messy." Pepper frowned and Tony said "Ah right early Christmas present! Jarvis activate Operation: Clean Slate." The iron legion flew into the air and started exploding one by one as the group watched the 'fireworks'.
A while later
Tony developed a cure for the Extremis and Reese said "I want a stabilizer. Not a cure." Tony said "That's dangerous kid." Reese nodded and retorted "So is being a normal person in a relationship with a superhero." Tony was silent before saying "Get me her blood. We'll make it better together." Reese nodded and grabbed a syringe before leaving the lab.
Tony and Reese had scavenged what was left from the wreckage in the old house and moved in to Stark Tower, aptly re-named Avengers Tower. The duo rebuilt the lab with Bruce and made it better than it was before, more advanced and more pleasing to the eyes. Jarvis was hooked into the entire Tower and Tony could control everything inside. He also took a break from being Ironman and went back to being a consultant.
Reese stood in front of Gwen and Pepper and said to Gwen "Tony made a cure." the two cheered and Reese continued "I'm not giving it to you. Pepper can have it." Pepper and Gwen frowned, Gwen said "Why not me?" Reese explained "The cure will strip you of all the powers and turn you back to normal." he took a deep breath and added "Me and Tony will develop the Extremis and make it stable in you so that you are, in fact, still a super human." he held up his hand and said "It was my idea. It for nothing other than your own safety. I may be strong but I can't be everywhere at once, if something like this happens to you again and you're gone.. I don't know what I will do but I have a general idea and it won't be a happy ending for anyone."
Gwen was silent and said "What will I do then?" Reese held her face and said "If you don't want to do this then I'll find another way to keep you safe, but nothing is safer than this. You can go back to regular life, but you'll just have superpowers. Maybe even better than what you have now! The Extremis was used in the wrong way to create mindless soldiers, we can make it better for you!" Gwen held his hands as she said "Isn't that dangerous?" Reese nodded and said "I will destroy everything once we're done."
Tony walked by and said "He's right. We create a better version and stabilize you, then destroy the evidence and say you walked into a radioactive zone if someone asks." he turned to Pepper and said "I have the cure for you though." Pepper said "Give it to me then." Gwen was struggling, she didn't know what to do, she said "Is there a chance I'll die randomly?" Reese and Tony shook their heads and said "Nope. It will be completely stabilized." Gwen looked at Pepper and said "What do I do?" Pepper dragged her away and said "Let's talk a bit okay?"
Reese watched her go and said "Am I doing the right thing?" Tony patted his shoulder and said "It's for her safety right?" Reese nodded and said "I don't want her to fight. I just want her safe.." he sat down and held his head in his hands as he said "I don't know what I'll do if I lose her.." Tony sat next to him and said "Infinity stones?" Reese nodded and clenched his fists saying "I hope it doesn't come to that." Tony chuckled and added "Me neither. 'Hotshot goes rogue' I can see it now!" as he made a joke to try and cheer Reese up.
It worked and Reese laughed "Hotshot vs. The Avengers. Has a ring to it no?" Tony laughed and said "Keep your little world domination ideas in your head kid." Reese shook his head and chuckled before saying "When you getting surgery?" Tony said "2 days. Found a nice Hong Kong doctor to do it for me." Reese groaned "I hate chinese food." Tony laughed and quipped "Who say you had to come? I was thinking of going to Macao after, having a little fun.." Reese said "I'm coming. Not because of the gambling, but because you're my friend. Funnily enough all my friends are superheroes.. Ah except for Ned. How's Peter doing by the way?"
Tony laughed as he remembered and said "Take a look" he pulled out his phone and showed Reese a video of peter in a crude spiderman suit saving a cat from a tree. Reese chuckled and said "I love that guy. He's hilarious." Tony added "And getting more well known. Spiderling is makin a name for himself." Reese said "He has a lot of views.. Maybe you should visit him. Take him under your wing? Teach him how to be a superhero." Tony said "I can't even do that myself, i'm gonna teach someone else?" Reese nodded "I'm not gonna help him. He's my friend but i'm not his mom. Also looks like his suit could be upgraded."
Tony said "Are you trying to squeeze benefits from me? Because I think you're trying to squeeze benefits from me." Reese waved him off "I don't know what you're talking about." Tony gasped "You are! That's the face you make when you're lying! I can't believe this! What's next? You decide to Usurp the president's seat?" Reese choked before laughing so hard he cried as he said "You're right! I was planning a hostile takeover of the White House this entire time! Hhahahahahahahahah!" Tony chuckled and shook his head.
Gwen and Pepper came back to see Reese laughing and Tony smirking. Pepper said "What happened?" Tony waved and said "Nothing much, the kid was planning a hostile takeover of the White House and I talked him out of it. Anyway you decide?" Pepper was speechless and Gwen nodded as he said "Stabilize me." Reese looked at her as he stopped laughing and wiped his eyes while saying "Are you sure about this?" Gwen smiled and nodded before smirking "Tony can just make a cure anyway right?" Pepper smirked, she told her to say that, she thought it was really funny, she was proud of Gwen.
Tony and Reese blinked and said "Wow. I actually completely forgot we could do that." Reese said "Ah my little angel is so smart! Come here! I need your blood." Gwen choked on her saliva, that was three different things at once, she walked over anyway and said "Can I help? I'm pretty smart myself." Reese cleaned her arm and drew her blood before cleaning the wound again saying "If you want baby." Gwen smiled and nodded as the trio went in the lab and started working on Gwen's stabilizer as Tony gave Pepper the cure.
1 day later
Reese was holding a needle and said "You ready? I don't know if this is going to hurt, but I know that it will work." Gwen nodded and said "Give it to me." Reese said "Later." as he injected the stabilizer into her as Tony laughed from his desk, ready to delete everything. Gwen glowed red and heated up as she frowned, Reese didn't care how how she was and held her hands, squeezing them lightly as he smiled at her and said "It's okay, I'm here." Gwen smiled as she looked at him and whispered "Why are you so good to me?" Reese kissed her molten lips and said "Because you're my world." Gwen teared up as she smiled and laughed.
A few minutes later
Gwen went back to normal and Tony ran diagnostics, Jarvis confirmed "100% Stabilized. Congratulations." Gwen cheered and heated up her fists as she swung them around saying "Super-Gwen!" Reese flicked her forehead and said "Calm down there missy. No super anything for you. You're going back to work with Pepper. Only use your powers when absolutely necessary." Gwen smiled sweetly and nodded "Of course, I'm not like you." Reese turned green and Tony laughed.
The next day
Tony was getting surgery and Pepper, Reese, Rhodey, and Gwen were watching from a window. The surgery was a success and Tony got his shrapnel and arc reactor taken out. The group celebrated at a casino in Macao and Tony had a necklace made with the shrapnel before giving it to Pepper.
A few days later
Reese got back into the swing of things and finally went back to school, without Gwen, who decided to work with Pepper almost full time and do school online.
Reese stood in front of the school with a hoodie, t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. He sighed and walked inside with his school bag, he had big sunglasses on as he walked into his classroom and sat next to Peter. The entire class stared at him, the teacher said "Reese. Please take off your glasses in class." she was having a hard time acting normal as well. Reese took off his sunglasses and put his hoodie down before saying "Hi." the entire class swarmed him and started asking questions about aliens and what the other Avengers were like.
Reese answered to the best of his abilities before looking at Peter, pleading for help with his eyes. Peter coughed and said "I want to know too.." Reese groaned and chuckled as he answered everyone's questions, even the teacher's. It took a bit before class went back to normal, Reese sighed and autograph for everyone in the class.
Reese smashed his head into the desk and said "Is this what it's gonna be like?" Peter chuckled and said "Most likely." Reese smirked at Peter and said "Maybe I should've hid my identity eh Pete?" Peter looked away saying "Yeah, probably." Reese wrapped his arm around his shoulder and said "Maybe wear a mask as well or something like that." Peter said "That's nice." Reese whispered in his ear "Maybe I should run around saving cats from trees and stopping thieves."
Peter took his arm off himself and said "Fine! I get it!" Reese chuckled and gave him a thumbs up, Peter sighed and said "How did you find out?" Reese said "You're not too hard to track Pete." as he laughed and said "You're secrets safe with me chief." before he did a salute before whispering "Maybe we can fight crime together! Spiderman and his sidekick Punchman! I'll wear a costume and everything!" as he did a few punches, causing Peter to laugh before covering his mouth and saying "We'll talk later."
Reese got swarmed the entire day with pictures and videos and autographs, one girl even gave him her underwear to sign, he signed them and said told him that she would be thinking of him tonight, much to his dismay because Gwen would probably hear about that, now he was in trouble. He sighed and kept going through the day, sometimes denying absurd requests, one guy asked him to bring him to see the rest of the Avengers, that was obviously impossible and he refused only to be called an asshole. Peter laughed and Reese scratched his head in confusion before the day finished.
Reese, Peter, and Ned walked out of the school and Reese said "Finally some fresh air! I need a disguise." Peter shook his head and said "That won't work. What are you just going to pretend to be someone else?" Reese clenched his fist and said "I'll do what I must." Ned said "Nice reference!" Reese high-fived Ned and said "I know right! Perfect for the situation!" Peter chuckled and they walked away from the school.
Ned said "I don't want to be that guy but I gotta know. How is it like flying through the air?" Reese grabbed Ned and Peter and said "Let's find out!" the duo paled and Reese laughed as he shot into the air and flew around the city before landing in front of the mall. He let the two down and said "So how was it?" Peter said "Not too bad actually!" Ned threw up on the floor and said "I shouldn't have asked..." Reese burst out laughing and gave Peter a look, Peter nodded and the trio walked into the mall.
Reese grumbled "I need to buy new clothes anyway.." Peter chuckled "Your last home explode?" Reese laughed and nodded "All the clothes, gone. Even the expensive ones..." he groaned "And Gwen's" Peter tried to slip away but Reese grabbed him and smiled "You'll help me but woman clothes right Pete?" Ned started running and said "Every man for himself!" Reese laughed and Peter almost cried as he said "Why me..." Reese chuckled evilly as he dragged Peter with him to all the woman stores.
Reese was buying clothes with a mask and sunglasses, his hood was up and Peter said "What's was the signal for?" Reese said "You both have to be careful from now on. Because I hang out with you two, it means you are targets now as well. I'm not concerned with you as much as I am with Ned... Does he know?" Peter winced and nodded, Reese chuckled and said "That's great! Get him to help you!" Peter rubbed his chin and said "Ned? He can't fight..." Reese smacked his head and said "Where did your brain go? Have him do intelligence! He can be the guy at the screens and you're the guy fighting!" Peter said "Ohhh! Like a sidekick!"
Reese laughed and nodded as they continued shopping for Gwen and himself. They reunited with Ned and Reese was holding a stack of boxes filled with clothes. They enjoyed the mall before separating and going back home, Reese flew into Avengers Tower and walked into his room and put all the clothes into the closet, he took out the jewelry box and put all the jewelry he bought her in it and smiled as he put a little monkey bobble head next to it. He nodded in satisfaction and went to the new G-chamber and started working out. This was his routine everyday for the next while of his life.
6 months later
Reese was laughing in his great ape form as the rest of the Avengers sighed and said "Finally!" Reese said "Let's see..." he roared to the sky and his fur turned golden as he laughed and said "Golden monkey baby!" Steve sighed and said "That's what you kept you tail for?" Reese shook his head and said "No, this is." he closed his eyes and growled as he shrunk down, his fur turned red and his hair spiked out and got longer, his face went back to normal and his pupils were red and there was a red shadow around his eyes. His hair spiked over his shoulders and onto his chest, which was bare and surrounded by red fur. He was considerably taller than normal.
Reese smirked and said "Pretty sexy eh?" the rest were shocked and Tony said "Just like that?" Reese said "Just like that. Although this form is too strong for me and I can only hold it for a few seconds." and with a poof he shrunk down to his normal self and sighed "Won't be able to use that for a while.." Steve stated "Pretty useless, since you have to look at the full moon every time." Reese smiled and said "Not anymore. I can use it when ever I like and I'll skip the monkey transformation if I want to." Banner said "I wish I had more forms..." Reese chuckled and Natasha said "You can do that anytime?" as she looked at him with a gleam in her eye. Clint sighed and shook his head at her before walking away.
1 year later
Reese was celebrating Gwen's 21st birthday, just the two of them. Reese flew her to Paris and sat on top of the Eiffel Tower as he held her hands and said "Happy birthday baby." Gwen was taller now, she reached Reese's chin and filled out her body, she was absolutely perfect. She smiled and leaned her head on his shoulders and said "I love you." Reese smiled and intertwined his fingers with hers as he said "Me too.." as they sat in silence staring at the view, comfortably.
Reese was extremely nervous right now and Gwen said "Cold?" before heating up, Reese laughed and kissed her saying "Not cold baby. What's the most beautiful place in the world?" Gwen frowned and tapped her chin saying "To me?" Reese smiled and nodded, Gwen smiled and said "The ice cream shop from our first date." Reese was speechless, he wasn't expecting that and wasn't sure that would really work for him. Gwen giggled and said "Why?" Reese smiled wryly and said "I meant aesthetically pleasing not emotionally pleasing.." Gwen laughed and said "The flower field in the Netherlands." Reese picked her up and shot into the sky.
Reese landed with Gwen in the Netherland flower field, he put her down and said "You like it?" Gwen looked around and said "It's beautiful but why did y-" she turned back and gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands and teared up. Reese was on one knee and opened a box with a ring in it as he said "Gwen, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. After everything we've been through, all the good times and occasionally some bad times. I decided that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. We've been dating for 5 years now, and I didn't want to wait any longer.. Will you marry me?"
Gwen cried and nodded as she said "Yes!" and hugged him before kissing him, Reese smiled brightly and said "Give me you hand love." she stretched her hand out and he slipped the ring on her ring finger, she looked at it and said "So beautiful.." it was a pure gold ring, with a diamond in the middle, and there were their initials on the inside of the ring.
Gwen looked at Reese and said "All this just for me?" Reese smiled and kissed her saying "Of course. I love you more than the world." Gwen wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him saying "Let's go home my love." Reese smiled and nodded as they flew home.
Reese landed at home with Gwen and they walked into the dining room. They saw Steve, Natasha, Tony, Pepper, and another man named Sam Wilson. Tony said "The kid's finally back! Where did you go?" Reese said "Paris, then the Netherlands." as he walked down and sat at the table, lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. Gwen ran over to Pepper and showed her the ring excitedly, Pepper gasped and screamed "WHAT?!" before holding her hand. The rest looked over and gasped before looking back at Reese.
Reese held up two fingers and drew and 'M' on the table, Tony whistled and Reese chuckled before saying "Seeing that you three are here and Tony isn't screaming about something, I'm guessing you're here for me?" Steve said "Well first of all congratulations." Natasha scrunched her face and said "Congrats." Reese waved and said "Thanks. Now business, we'll do a wedding later."
Steve got serious and said "We need your help. You were right." Reese grinned and said "You come to me on the day my daughter is to be married and ask me to kill a man?" Tony said "Excellent. Perfect context." Reese chuckled and said "Hydra finally revealed their tiny snake heads did they?" Steve and Natasha nodded and Reese said "Alright. School was boring anyway. I'm a super hero and i'm still going to college." he sighed and Gwen glared at him, he immediately said "I love school. Now let's go before she divorces me."
The three chuckled and shook their heads as Tony said "Have fun! Don't catch a cold!" Reese said "I won't father! Warm the stove for winter!" as he left with Steve, Natasha, and Sam. Gwen watched him go and said "I don't like the way she looks at my husband.." Tony said "You should've seen the way she was looking at him when he didn't have clothes on." Gwen heated up and grinded her teeth before saying "I'll be in the gravity room." and leaving mumbling "I swear to god..."
Pepper sighed and said "You had to rile her up?" Tony said "The kid was having too good of a life! He proposed before I did!" Pepper laughed and said "Like that's ever gonna happen.." before walking off, leaving Tony stunned as he said "What's that supposed to mean?" before chasing after her.

Hey guys! There's Iron Man 3! I chose to make Gwen an Extremis, I thought it was really cool! But it was never used fully, the most we get is a half-assed fight from Killian and he was an asshole so fuck him, now Gwen has it. The marriage is part of a plan, it's also been 5 years and they can die at anytime so Reese isn't taking any chances ANYWAY that's why they got married maybe a wedding paragraph or two before age of ultron, maybe not idk.
