"Dad…I..."

Braxton sighed. "Can you get home? Are you okay?"

 "Where are you?" Her mother demanded again. 

"Yeah, I … I'm okay." She bit her lips to hold back the tears. Yesterday had been incredibly crazy. But she was Cleo Goldman; she wasn't going to sob her eyes out in a foreign house. "Can you come to pick me up, Dad?"

"Where are you?" 

 "At…" Cleo paused. She couldn't damn well say Ezra Sawyer's house. Her mom would freak out! "A minute, please." Placing the call on hold. She rose from the bed and gasped at her unclad state.

 She'd completely forgotten she was in her underwear. She pulled out a sheet from the bed, wrapped herself in it, and then knocked. 

 Ezra opened it; his face was grim. He took a look at the blanket wrapped around her, and his jaw locked tighter.

 "What?" He whispered harshly. 

She resisted flinching. "Where's the nearest junction to this place?" She murmured.
