CHAPTER-7
"Alec! Can you come with me to the library for a while? I still did not feel good! " A lot of staff had arrived and surrounded the ashes that used to be a boy just a few minutes ago.
His parents were called too. But there was nothing they could do! Harry was already dead and gone forever!
Jenny still did not know what she should think about it! Whether she should be relieved that he would not insult her anymore or upset that he was not able to live his life.
One thing she was sure about: She could not forget what had happened and was still scared.
Alec looked at her with a grin! He did not want to sit in the class anyway. And for the first time in his life, he was enjoying something else besides the books that he carried with him.
"Of course, we will both read together there!" He held her and she gave him a grateful smile towards him.
They walked hand in hand towards the library and took the corner seats where no one came.
"You shouldn't think much about them!" Alec demanded as he looked at her worried face, which was still looking pale.
He missed the smile that she used to have on her face before. He seemed to have started to like it.
Jenny raised her head and sighed,
"I know, I should not think much about it. It was not in the hands of anyone! "she replied, shaking her head, and he felt a tinge of guilt in his chest before curbing that feeling away.
That boy deserved it! He was hurting her when she was so caring and loving! See! She was still worried about him when all he did was insult her!
"So, what are we going to read?" He changed the subject as he did not like that she was still thinking about another boy who did not deserve any of her concern.
"Ah! I have told you about the quiz, right? " She beamed when he nodded, "I am studying science for that today."
I have divided all my schedule with all the subjects. "With that, she picked up a book and started reading about quantum physics.
He took out one of his books of magic and started reading it, but often his gaze moved away from the book towards her face, which was filled with amazement.
He was enjoying the company he had gained so much that he was not able to concentrate on the book at all.
"If you want, we can study this book together!" replied the book with a shy smile on her face. She could feel how he was looking at her.
Whenever others looked at her, she cringed and felt objectionable. But when he looked at her like that, she felt nervous. Her hands itched to adjust her hair and check her face.
If she was even presentable after staying out in the storm for so long, She would look like an idiot.
"Sure!" he smiled and moved closer to her.
She extended the book and started reading about the nature of particles and the recent discovery of them, while he held his head with both his hands on his cheeks and looked at her without even blinking his eyes once.
"Look, they are the ones who killed Harry!"
What a shameless couple. Still sitting there and talking like nothing happened when one of us lost his life because of them! "
Who knew they could even do magic? I bet she is a witch and he is a demon. "
Though the voices were coming from afar, they were able to hear them clearly due to the silence in the library.
Most of the staff were busy dealing with the manner of Harry's death. Though it happened naturally, it was still dead in the school premises.
Surprisingly, the sky turned clear after a few minutes of his death, as if the storm was only there to take his life.
It created confusion and rumors that they were the ones who killed the young boy.
Jenny, who had started to forget about the horrible accident, packed. Alec frowned when he looked at her worried face and moved his hands towards her.
Covering her hands with his, he shook his head,
You should not pay attention to baseless humor. It had nothing to do with you, "he assured her in a calm voice, and she turned to look at him and then nodded with a sigh.
But somewhere in her heart, even she was confused about the turn of events.
"Shall we go and eat something? Would you like to have ice cream? " He asked to make her feel better.
She raised her head and looked at him with grateful eyes. She could see how he was trying to put effort into making her feel better.
So, she nodded, and they both walked out of there. While they were moving closer to the door, Alec tilted his head and looked towards the group of boys that were muttering nonsense just a minute ago.
His eyes scanned their faces to remember them for later.
They trembled under the unnerving gaze of Alec, but did not back away as they looked back with dominance to show they were not afraid.
Alec, you should not pay heed to them. Let us go; I am hungry! "Let us go! She pulled his sleeves, afraid that they would have another argument or fight.
Feeling the warmth of her hands on him, he turned back and looked at her worried face. He knew that she was already horrified and worried, so he nodded.
Without turning back to the scorn and other insults, he held her hand and walked out of the library.
"Did you bring lunch with you?" She asked as they both walked towards the cafeteria. Her hands were still holding his arms as she was too worried to let him go, but he shook his head.
"It is alright! I have enough for both of us! "
