I held the bottle high only for a small drop of water to touch my tongue.
"Seriously? You finished all the water alone."
I fixed my glare towards Layla. She waved her hands defensively.
"It's not my fault, the heat is intense." while whining she wiped her face as if emphasising.
I sighed and continued lurching under the blazing hot sun, After walking for hours we reached where the river ended and entered an area where there was only a few trees in our sight. The whole place was invaded with knee level length grass.
"Why are we stopping?"
"Didn't you hear that! something just moved up there." Alice pointed ahead.
"Guys, you see what I meant, this was a bad adea." Layla shuddered.
"What ever it is with our current abilities it's not a threat."
"You already fought a lot in the morning, can you still go on if it's those things." Layla spoke in worry.
"It might just be a snake let's go this side."
We followed Alice.
Something more than just a snake emerged from the grass.
We all stood still, Alice lifted her hands ready for battle, I instantly walked at the front.
More draugr appeared encircling us.
"Let's not fight all of them, we create an opening then flee." I addressed
Layla and Alice nodded behind me.
Using my strongest spell, lightning emerged from the sky and stroke a draugr within a flash, the girls felt goosebumps run through their bodies as the scene occurred.
The draugr dropped to the ground twitching with electric volts, all the draugr instantly rushed to attack.
Alice pushed the rest of the draugr which where infront of us using her telekinesis, we instantly sprinted forward in that moment.
We managed to create distance from the draugr, their pace was slow.
I turned back and casted two lightning runes, after a while I head explosion of electric bolts and some draugr roaring in anger.
We kept running until we reached a small hill like area, we where all panting, my shirt was drenched in sweat.
"I think we have out ran the draugr, I don't see them in our sight." Alice spoke in voice short of breath.
"Let's just keep going those things won't just give up." I replied
Layla cursed under her breath, she probably wanted to rest. We climbed the hill and descended on the other side, the place was overgrown with green grass and trees.
"Guys! do you here that!"
"Of course, the water source, that's why it's suddenly this shade of green."
We bolted towards the sound of the water waves. As we got near the river distance growls occurred behind us.
Increasing our pace an old shack came into view.
"Raaaarrr"
"Fuck a zombie." A curse escaped my mouth.
A fat old man faltered out of the shack, the pale rotten skin already alarmed to me that he was an undead.
I simply walked towards the undead, and used Inflame.
The bright orange - red flame wrapped in my hands travelled and burnt the undead, as I got near my flames became stronger. The zombie released a low pitched roar, in seconds it was incinerated.
"Wow your abilities are too broken." Alice spoke.
I heard a noisy cracking, Alice stepped on the undead's head as she passed by.
"You truly are frightening." Layla muttered, glancing at what's left of the undead.
I innocently smiled
"Let's check the Cabin."
Before I finished I saw a mob of draugr descending towards us.
Sighing. "This damned creatures, forget the cabin let's just go."
"Great, no more rest." Layla whined. As usual.
Maintaining our pace we reached the river, A bass boat was on sight, probably used for fishing, we immediately hoped in.
I twisted the key more than three times but the engine wouldn't start.
I heard footsteps approaching, turning my head I saw three draugr walking towards us. The one on the left was wearing black rusty armour which was missing a few parts and carrying an axe, the one in the middle and right side where wearing the same armour but instead of an axe they were equipped with two handed swords.
Alice made a slash movement with her hands, the draugr where sent flying back.
They unsteadily tried to get up.
"Yes!" I brimmed with joy as the roar of the engine rang in my ears.
Gripping the steering tight I pushed the throttle all the way forward, the boat swerved as it accelerated in high speed away from the river bank.
The boat will hop from time to time splashing water everywhere, I adjusted the speed and cruised in the wide river following the waves.
Sighing I looked up to the clear blue skies and smiled as the wind blew vigorously at my face
'Finally free at last.'
Someone pulled my shirt bring bringing back to reality.
"KEAN! KEAN!!" Layla called at the top of her lungs.
I tilted my head as I ogled everywhere "Huh? What? Ohh shit!!" My heart thumbed hard as I stared at the waterfall.
I tried to turn the boat but the force was already pulling us towards the fall.
"It's no use, we are too late." Layla trembled.
I held her hand with a wry smile.
"We will survive."
Before she even reacted the boat was already at the edge and we could hear the water fall all the way down.
Alice jumped to hug me and squeezed tightly as if she was protecting me.
The boat instantly fell to the other side, with our eyes shut tight we screamed our hearts out, as we where dropping down from more than hundred metre fall at god knows how many miles per hour we where travelling at.
The water released a huge splash as we made impact. At that moment my mind blanked out.
