Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Agartha’s POV

Laying in my abode that Grimtooth had made for me. It was decorated with jewels and the finest of the fabrics. But it still was nothing more than a pretty prison.

With all his Gold and fleeting jewels, I was his most prized possession – His Sorceress. So it was not unusual that he kept me here. It was also not unusual for a sorceress with my amount of magic to bound us like this to a master.

I was their personal genie, only that genies were in a bottle but I stood talked among humans. I had lived on for hundreds of years as a sorceress and I have been bound to many masters, outliving all of them but none willing to set me free.

It was always the same—human greed was insurmountable.

As I laid on my very large bed, my mind wandered through memories, suddenly…

ZZZZZZZZZ!

A vision flashed before my eyes— a young man was heading to this place…why?...there's something inside of him…but…but…

As I focused, trying to unravel the mystery, my eyes began to glow bright. The room filled with an eerie white light. The glow signaling Grimtooth's guards.

Ugh I hated when this happened. Anytime I see a vision my eyes would glow very brightly.

I quickly snapped back out of my vision.

Almost immediately, Grimtooth barged in, his stench filling the room.

"My precious Agartha! What did you see?" he asked eagerly, his ugly mouth dripping with excitement.

I sat up, trying to gather myself. Visions always left me weak, dizzy, and bleeding from the nose.

"What did you see?!" Grimtooth's voice grew sharper, his patience wearing thin.

I needed to lie.

"You'll find a new gold mine soon," I replied weakly, hoping he wouldn't command me to speak the truth. The bond would force me to reveal everything.

His disgusting laugh echoed through the room as he clapped his hands in joy.

"More gold, yes, yes!" he babbled, oblivious to the actual danger.

I breathed a sigh of relief as he waddled out. He was obsessed with gold. With all the gold he had amassed over the years, no amount would ever be enough for Grimtooth. He had used and abused my power to search and secure golds and treasures up in this cave.

Later that day, after the usual ritual of watching him gorge himself on a lavish meal in his hall of gold, I returned to my chambers feeling hollow.

My life was just this—a cycle of bondage, following Grimtooth like his shadow. I couldn't leave, and even if I tried, the magical boundary tied me to him like an invisible leash.

I sighed and picked up the book on my bed, attempting to lose myself in its pages. But just as I began reading, another vision struck me.

Someone had bitten into the field of bitter apples.

I didn't dare delve deeper; my eyes would glow again, signaling the guards. I couldn't afford that. I needed to investigate who had entered Grimtooth's territory.

After some moments, the guards barged into my room.

"Grimtooth demands your presence," one of them said.

I followed them to the hall of gold, where the young man was already bound in a cage. My breath caught.

He stared at me closely.

Grimtooth was perched on his golden throne, a sickening grin on his face.

As I walked in, I bowed ceremoniously to Grimtooth.

"I caught him trying to steal my gold!" Grimtooth crowed triumphantly. "Tell me, Agartha, tell me he is a thief!"

I walked forward slowly, my gaze lingering on the young man. There was something… something deeper inside him that called to me. I had to find out.

The guards let him out from the wooden cage he was being kept in. He knelt in front of me.

I placed my hands on his head, closing my eyes as I delved into his thoughts.

His memories flashed before me—his journey, his mission…he is here for me?… A beast was ravaging their homeland. Their king—his father—had sent them. And then… I saw something. Someone I hadn't seen in decades.

Samantha.

I gasped, a tear sliding down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away, struggling to maintain my composure. Grimtooth must not know what I had just seen.

"He did not come to steal your gold," I said, my voice steady, but my heart pounding.

Grimtooth squinted, his excitement fading. "Then why is he here?"

I hesitated, my eyes drifting back to the boy.

"But he… he came to steal something more."

Grimtooth's eyes widened in confusion.

"What do you mean? What did this intruder come for?"

I needed to buy him time—and devise a plan.

"He came to steal –Me".
