Chapter 30: The Lady In Black, Part Fifteen

The cold air hung heavy as Zenith and Emi stood by a frozen lake, their breaths visible as they moved up. 

The ice below them was cracked, reflecting the dull light in fractured patterns.

In the middle of this makeshift arena, a massive bear-like creature rested, its fur a mix of white and blue, eyes glowing with a fierce intensity.

"This is it, this is the boss," Zenith said quietly to Emi, her voice determined. "Stay close and follow my lead."

Emi nodded, her eyes fixed on the looming beast. She looked equal parts scared and excited. 

As for Zenith, she just hoped this would be worth the effort. 

[Honestly, it might be better to just keep doing low-level dungeons.] 

"You will be penalized if you do," Tamira made sure to inform her. "Remember, my superiors don't mind you doing something smart every now and then, but abusing the system is off-limits!
