" So you know about Conan, who is he exactly?" Yelena asked steel. She found it a good opportunity to know more about Conan's past for many reasons.
" It seems, my master didn't tell you much about himself. If this is the case then I should also refrain from talking until he allows me to." Steel answered.
" Tch! He is your master, right?"
" Yes, that much is obvious." Steel answered. " May I ask you who are you to my master?"
" We are his friends," Ben answered while Yelena had to think.
Steel didn't say anything and they didn't talk anything after that, they only focused on what was happening on the stage.
Conan was taken off guard because of Aurora's action but didn't react too much. The chief of the village had a big sarcastic smile on his face which annoyed Conan.
After finishing this reward ceremony, they were told to follow behind them. The other three humans also joined behind them, Luca had told them that the chief wanted to discuss something.
-----
" Hey, Can I call you Conan?" Aurora asked, she had tried to walk not too far from him, but her actions were noticed by everyone present.
' Little Girl, you too have fallen for the royal family's divine charm just as I did when I was young.' Steel chuckled seeing Aurora's action.
" Everybody calls me Conan, so it's alright if you do as well," Conan answered, he tried to ignore whatever Aurora was trying to do.
" This is a love at first sight case, isn't it?" Ben whispered and Steel nodded.
" That girl will soon be disappointed, sigh!" Yelena sighed like she knew how it was going to end.
Finally, they reached a place where the high-ranking people of the tribe were gathered.
" I shall give you a brief explanation of why we have gathered you all here," Luca said and then started to explain.
' I didn't think this far, Mark was too desperate to deal with the monster, he didn't care about these people and told me beforehand.' Conan thought after Luca had explained why and what they needed help with.
" I will help you with this matter," Conan said.
" But don't we have to go back to that free city or some other place, we already have too much on our to-do list," Yelena complained.
" I was not talking about you two," Conan replied.
" We are a team Conan, you are not thinking of doing this alone once again," Yelena said in a loud voice, " You should discuss with us what you are going to do before you agree to something."
" I think Yelena is right, Are you doing this because you feel guilty about selling those monsters," Ben spoke to mediate between them.
Meanwhile, the Barbarians were confused about whether or not they should get involved.
" Alright, that's enough!" The chieftain interrupted, " I am glad boy, you agreed to help us right away, but if your companions do not agree then maybe you should reconsider."
" But My lord-" Luca tried to interrupt but the chieftain raised his hand and silenced him.
" Luca after thinking a lot and seeing this argument, I have come to realise something. Humans aren't going to help us, we should not rely on them in the first place." The chieftain said, " I was a little kid when we were brought to these foreign lands by a saviour who freed us from slavery. He was a human who didn't fear us but the others of his kind were different, they were scared of us and shunned us. Even though this life is much better than that of slavery, I live with the fear of a dispute occurring with humans." The chieftain explained and then paused to stand up.
" Do you know what's the wisest thing to do for us, Do not offend them in any way, We shall live separately in these lands and hunt with our strength, rely on ourselves. Having less food to eat is much better than living a life of killing or being killed against them because we honour the words of our saviour and will never harm humans."
" I, Anathox, the chief of proud and strong barbarians will bring the food for our village, No matter what dangers I must face," Anathox announced and then sat back on his throne.
His speech was supported by every barbarian, everyone could tell that what Anathox just spoke was the reality. Getting involved with humans in any way may lead to a conflict.
" Tch! How will you hunt if there are no beasts?" Conan asked, " There is no way other than relying on humans, you said you don't want to rely on them then do you plan to always remain their enemy."
" That is a good argument but I believe theirs and ours situations and biases had never allowed us to be on the same page and never will, except for the time when we face an original clan together."
" Shut up! Shut UP!" Conan yelled, " You and Everyone in this world make me sick, he saved you, he saved everyone. However, You make his every act of kindness meaningless." While being enraged by what the chieftain said, Conan also released some of his Aura pressure making it hard for Ben, Aurora and other non-warriors to stand up on their feet.
' This kid, was my assumption about him correct?' Anathox started to sweat because of the pressure.
" Calm down Conan!" Ben shouted.
" No, I will not."
