"You must be joking." He tried to turn it into a jest, but all that left his throat was a nervous laughter accompanied with several sweat drops on his forehead. None of his interlocutors spoke. Machonto swallowed. "That's not possible. She's too young."

"Does that matter, sir, if she gets the job done?" Toussaint asked, looking at him reluctantly. "Because I've seen it myself."

Bullshit., Aria thought. If she saw anything, it might have been on the tapes. In person she saw nothing.

"I..."

"Just let it go, Saskie. Since you know already who I am, I will tell you that detective Toussaint is an officer supreme. She can solve pretty much anything... even if the questgiver is a complete moron."

Machonto looked at her quizzically, but said nothing. Aria, however, was not convinced if he got the reference. Surprisingly, she saw that Toussaint attempted, successfully, to swallow the snort of laughter.
