Chapter 86: War Against the Dumont Dukedom (2)

Gar Grayfield and his commanders couldn't wait to start the six versus six duels.

He likes showing off and defeating his enemies in front of a crowd.

Every time the Dumont Dukedom engages in skirmishes or wars, he always challenges the enemy's top fighters to duels like this.

Since the Dumont Dukedom usually only bullies smaller territories, Gar Grayleaf has never lost in his duels even once.

In the process, he broke through to Swordmaster.

Gar Grayleaf believed that there was no way that a backwater city like this could produce a strong warrior so he was very confident.

Gar Grayleaf is by no means a fraud, it's just that, he likes winning easily in order to show off.

After a few more minutes, Resonance City's elite heavy infantry opened a pathway in the middle of their formation and Blanc's team of six slowly walked out.

Seeing that Blanc and his team are slowly walking towards them without a hint of nervousness or anxiety, Gar Grayleaf is annoyed.

"How pretentious…I know that beneath your "confident" exterior lies a scared little kitty. They even brought a girl out to fight? Are they lacking in warriors or something?"

Gar muttered to himself.

A few minutes later, Blanc's team of six and Gar's team of six stood face to face.

"You guys were taking so long to come out that I thought you already chickened out."

Gar said.

"I mean, your unsightly facial features are indeed enough to scare children and small animals but it doesn't work on us so stop daydreaming."

Helena retorted.

Veins popped on Gar Grayleaf's head. This bitch dares to insult him?! Let's see if she can talk later once her whole team is wiped out.

"Audacious! You talk too much for a filler member! Enough talking! Bring out your first fighter!"

Helena didn't retort this time and just looked at Zander.

Zander knew that he would be the first one to fight so he drew his sword and walked into the wide empty space in the middle.

Gar immediately observed Zander.

"Look at these rats posturing as if they're mighty, It will be a lot of fun to smash the delusions of these hillbillies. I shall give them a hard slap of reality."

Gar muttered to himself while chuckling.

"Walter, make quick work of this loser. Show them the difference between the Dumont Dukedom and a backwater city."

A few moments later, a guy with long blonde hair unsheathed his sword and walked towards Zander.

The guy named Walter had a well-toned body and a cleft chin, however, his eyes seemed to be a little too big and his eyebrows a little too thick.

Still, the guy walked forward with confidence as if he was the hottest commodity on the market.

Upon arriving on the dueling grounds, he pointed his sword at Zander and assumed a cool side pose.

"I'll show you the difference between a true warrior and a backwater rat."

Walter declared as he turned around and assumed his battle stance a fair distance away from Zander.

Zander stared blankly at the pretentious antics of this guy named Walter.

"Will these guys die if they don't show off?"

Zander muttered to himself as he assumed his battle stance.

Seeing Walter's declaration, Gar chuckled and said

"Well said Walter! Go! Destroy this guy!"

Walter chuckled as he gave a thumbs-up to Gar.

After a few more moments, the duel finally began as Walter charged at Zander with a smirk on his face.

"Let's see how you will handle my attacks!"

*CLANG*

Zander's sword clashed with Walter's. However, after a few milliseconds, the guy named Walter was sent sliding two meters back.

Seeing this, Gar unexpectedly chuckled.

"Walter, I see that you still love to joke. I know that you just want to make us laugh but this is not the time, finish him off quickly."

However, Walter seems to have a different view of things and a shadow of a nervous look can be seen on his face even though his face still radiates confidence on the surface.

"H-Hahahaha, Y-You saw right through me Gar! Well then! Let me finish this off soon!"

Blanc couldn't believe what he was hearing. It was as clear as day that Zander had the stronger physique. Somehow, this delusional group of warriors still thinks that this guy named Walter is joking.

A few moments later, Walter charged forward again and slashed with everything he had. Gar saw that Walter was "finally serious" so he smirked as he looked forward to the result of the second clash.

Unfortunately for Gar's side, nothing changed and Walter was sent sliding back again.

Gar furrowed his brows upon seeing the result.

"Oi, Walter, I told you to stop joking now. Hurry up and finish the fight."

Walter looked at Gar's direction and said

"H-Hahahaha, okay okay let m-"

*SPURT*

Walter's words were cut short as his head slowly rolled to the ground. Gar's eyes were wide open after seeing that Walter had been decapitated by Zander.

"Are you guys treating this as a joke? Why is this guy looking away in the middle of a duel? This is what he gets for doing stupid things in the middle of a match."

Zander looked in Gar's direction and said arrogantly.

He then slashed his blade another time to get rid of the blood on his sword as he walked back towards his team.

Veins popped on Gar Grayleaf's head again. He couldn't stand being seen as a joke by these "hillbilly warriors".

"Y-You! How dare you cheat?! Walter was still talking to me and you sneak attacked him?!"

This time, Helena couldn't help but laugh at Gar's angry face.

"Hahahahaha don't be so angry, you look even uglier when you're angry so calm down. Your stupid underling looked away in the middle of a fight, blame yourselves for your stupidity. Don't accuse someone of cheating when he's simply the better combatant."

"BETTER COMBATANT?! YOU GUYS DARE CALL YOURSELVES BETTER COMBATANTS?! ABSOLUTELY DELUSIONAL!!"

At this point, Gar's ugly face was red due to how angry he was.

These hillbilly warriors were calling themselves superior?!

"TYBOLDT! GO! SHOW THESE INFERIOR HILLBILLIES HOW INFERIOR THEY ARE!"
