Chapter 155: Payback
After the matter with Queen Lockridge was over, Blanc went back to the prison where King Samara was being held.
Upon arriving at King Samara's prison cell, he was surprised because there was an additional person there who he didn't expect would arrive this quickly in Samara City.
It seems that Adelaine couldn't wait to get her hands on this bastard King Samara.
She knew that she would have to stay in Samara City for a while to establish a foothold for the Resonance Chamber of Commerce.
Since she would be coming here anyway, Adelaine decided to take a risk and leave Resonance City early for a chance to make it in time for King Samara's torture.
Her expectations were correct as her big brother and big sister easily took down Samara City and fortunately, she arrived just in time to watch the person she hated the most suffer.
Currently, she was right in front of King Samara, her hands a bit bloody from slapping King Samara repeatedly with a furious look on her face.
However, Blanc knew that it wasn't good for her to grow up cold-blooded like him and Helena so he slowly walked towards Adelaine and gently stopped her from soiling her hands further.
"Adelaine, step back for now, leave things like these to us…You don't have to be like us and I don't want you to be. I'd rather see you smiling every day, okay?"
After hearing what her big bro Blanc said, Adelaine took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and stepped back to let Blanc take over.
On the other hand, Blanc turned his attention to King Samara with a cold look on his face.
"H-Hiiiih!!"
King Samara was horrified, it seemed that it was finally time for his torture so he flailed about but unfortunately, the chains held him in place and his struggle was simply futile.
"Yo, Samara, did you prepare yourself for a life worse than death?"
Blanc said with a chilling smile on his face.
On the other hand, the self-centered King Samara was so scared to the point that he started to desperately beg without any regard for dignity.
"P-P-Please, King Rougenfort, be merciful…I didn't know that such an excellent man was under Count Leonardo Laurelei. Had I known, I wouldn't have dared to attack the Laurelei Fiefdom at all! Please, have mercy! I can be your dog or whatever just please, let me off!"
Blanc was slightly amused, he couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle after seeing how scared and desperate King Samara was.
"If he was already like this even without torture, I wonder how funny he would look while being tortured?"
Blanc thought to himself
On the other hand, Helena and Adelaine watched on with a cold look on their faces. They could hardly wait for Blanc to start torturing King Samara.
Fortunately, Blanc didn't make them wait for too long as he suddenly waved his hands and signaled his subordinate to start the session.
"George, Begin the torture!" Blanc ordered
The subordinate named George immediately carried out his orders and began the first torture method which was to slip a small iron nail inside King Samara's fingernails before slowly hammering the nails deeper and deeper.
"AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!"
A chilling scream came out of King Samara's mouth as he tried to flail his entire body due to how painful the first method was.
George then repeated the same procedure until all twenty fingers suffered the same fate.
By this time, King Samara was foaming at the mouth and was barely conscious due to how painful it was to go through a single session of the first torture method.
Unfortunately, Blanc wouldn't let him go after just a single torture session.
"Make him drink a greater health potion then do it all over again!" Blanc ordered with a cold look on his face.
Torturing King Samara can keep him entertained for days but unfortunately, it seems like he wouldn't have the time to sit here and watch George torture King Samara due to a sudden report from one of his subordinates.
"Y-Your Majesty! One of our scouts reported that a huge army of forty thousand men were marching straight towards Samara City. We estimate that they will arrive tomorrow at noon!"
Blanc's eyes narrowed into slits after hearing the report.
The first nation he thought of was the Kairuku Kingdom but he knows that the Kairuku Kingdom has its hands full due to the Terravalle Kingdom so it couldn't be them.
Then who could it be?
"Did you see their banners? From which kingdom are they from?" Blanc asked his subordinate
"Reporting to His Majesty! The scouts reported that they were from the tier 4 Balmore Kingdom at the edge of the Paseah Region!"
After hearing what his subordinate said, Blanc was confused.
"Why would this tier 4 Balmore Kingdom's army march towards Samara City? Were they planning to conquer the Samara Kingdom? Or…"
Blanc pondered for a few moments before managing to come up with a few guesses on why this Balmore Kingdom army suddenly appeared on the horizon and was fiercely marching toward Samara City.
He then immediately called for a strategy meeting to discuss how to deal with this situation.
"Helena, summon the battalion commanders to the meeting room."
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
In just half an hour, Blanc and the military leaders of Rougenfort Kingdom sat in a circle inside the meeting hall of Samara Castle.
"Everyone, I believe you already know about the Balmore Kingdom's army on the horizon so I would like to discuss how should we deal with this situation"
After saying his opening remarks, Blanc scanned everyone inside the room and after seeing that they were all attentive, he nodded in satisfaction before continuing with the meeting.
"Now, I have deduced that there are two most likely reasons why the Balmore Kingdom's Army is marching towards Samara City."
"First, they were on the way to conquer Samara Kingdom but we beat them to the punch so they chose to simply continue marching and demand for a moderate piece of land as compensation."
"Second, the Balmore Kingdom responded to the Samara Kingdom's call for help but they didn't expect the Samara Kingdom to fall so easily and now, they have no choice but to continue with their attack."
