Chapter 129: Fort Shadowsong

Thousands of carpenters are in a rush to finish a fort in the middle of the Dumont Dukedom and Resonance City.

Naturally, these thousands of carpenters are from Resonance City's carpenter association. Blanc assigned thousands of carpenters because he wanted to finish the fort quickly before the Samara Kingdom could even respond.

The area where the carpenters are building Fort Shadowsong is dangerously close to the borders of the Samara Kingdom so they had to finish it fast or the carpenters would be in danger.

Of course, Blanc would never let them put themselves in too much danger so he assigned two thousand elites to guard the carpenters and Alexander was currently on his way to personally watch over the building process.

"Go Go Go! Let's finish this today so we can go back home tomorrow!"

Kirk, the chief of the carpenters' association was yelling orders left and right. Fort Shadowsong is almost completed and there are still two days left before the deadline.

Blanc promised all of them monetary rewards if they would be able to finish the Fort within the deadline so everyone was currently motivated to get that bonus.

They all know that Blanc was never stingy when it came to monetary rewards and it just so happens that most of the carpenters are already saving money for marriage so the bonus would be a big help to them.

Inside a very large hall of the Samara Kingdom, the former Duke now King Samara was happily eating fruits while a seemingly "trained" former Queen Lockridge's head was right in the middle of his crotch doing her best to pleasure the despicable new king.

She had lost any will to resist after being continuously subjected to harsh punishments.

Unfortunately, this is one of the consequences of losing a war and she couldn't do anything about it because the Lockridge Royal Family were defeated.

Queen Lockridge wasn't any sort of pampered queen at all and in fact, she was one of the top contributors when it came to strategies.

However, up until today, she couldn't understand how they lost because the Samara Dukedom not only had fewer soldiers, they also had way fewer funds than them.

The Lockridge Royal Family lost due to the unexpected number of masters in the ranks of the Samara Dukedom's army and not only that, they seemingly had endless funds.

Their Grand Marshal tried his best to hold on against three of the enemy's masters but unfortunately, he was defeated and so, their entire army crumbled.

She suspected that the Samara Dukedom had the support of a higher-tiered kingdom but none of that matters for her now.

All she cares about right now is surviving and hoping that someday, someone will save her and her daughter from this nightmare.

While King Samara is indulging in debauchery, One of his subordinates loudly opens the door of the royal hall seemingly in a panicked state.

*BANG*

"My king! I have something urgent to report!"

King Samara's mood was spoiled by his subordinate and his brows couldn't help but furrow.

"Didn't I tell you to knock first?!" King Samara said as he slammed the armrest of his throne in anger.

The subordinate couldn't help but look at the "busy" Queen Lockridge before realizing his mistake.

"A-Apologies, my king! This wouldn't happen again… Please spare me this one time in consideration for everything that I've done for my king…"

The subordinate lowered his head while nervously waiting for King Samara's verdict.

Lately, the king had been executing incompetent subordinates left and right so he feared that he might be one of them today.

Fortunately for him, King Samara still had a bit of a brain. Seeing that he had something urgent to report, the king forgave him and allowed him to speak.

"If this happens again, you know what will happen…Speak! What is this urgent news?"

"R-Reporting to the king! A fort has suddenly emerged in the middle of the Dumont Dukedom and that upcoming kingdom! There was a massive stone wall blocking our passage to both the Dumont Dukedom and the Stormy Swamp!"

*BANG*

"What did you say?! Incompetent! How did a fort emerge without us knowing about it?!"

King Samara smashed his armrest in fury, he couldn't understand how a fort had suddenly emerged near their borders under their noses.

"T-The scouts informed us that there were at least three thousand carpenters working at the fort and that's why the fort was built before we could even learn about it…" The subordinate replied

King Samara narrowed his eyes after hearing about the sheer number of carpenters who were assigned to complete the fort.

He had an idea that it was probably that upcoming kingdom who built this fort since the Resonance brand which had been making waves in the commerce industry originated from that place.

Hence, he could determine that only such a small and rich nation as Resonance City could fund such a fast-building project.

"Send envoys to the Kairuku Kingdom! It seems that we have to act now or they will surpass us before we know it!"
