"Adam."

Adam Jones turned around and saw Harry walking towards him. After much deliberation, he said, "If you can't let go of her, you might as well let go of what happened eight years ago. After all, you don't have that many eights years in a lifetime to squander."

As a brother, that was all he could say; the choice was still Adam Jones's to make.

Adam Jones gave him a look, offered a wry smile, said nothing, and resumed walking to his office.

When Adam Jones opened his office door, Elly Campbell was still reviewing a document. Hearing the sound, she instinctively looked up and caught Adam Jones's gaze.

"I've brought lunch, come and eat."

Elly Campbell was taken aback for a moment, not having expected that Adam Jones had gone out earlier specifically to buy her lunch.
