Chapter 4: Reincarnated - 3
When he first woke up into this new world, he saw the vast gray sky with little crystals of snow falling down on him, glittering in the air. He then started to hear a baby crying next to him and asked himself, 'Why am I in the open air, shouldn't I be in a home or something, being greeted by me new family like all other reincarnation stories?'
Instead of this happening he saw a figure walking towards him and the other baby and his mask immediately deployed, covering his face. Due to the darkness, as he had requested that his mask would be one that would be smooth all over, he was effectively blind. After he felt himself being lifted up into warm arms, he soon fell asleep.
The second time that he was in full control of his body again was when he was already two years old. He had been raised by a tall, lithe, 23 year old nun named Sister Christina, and from what he could tell, all of the little children called her "Mama" while the older children called her "Christie".
At this point, he had just learned to walk and due to his skills from Earth, as he had been trained into being fluent in over 50 languages, so he had already learned the language native to this region, the common dialect for the whole continent, and the old runic language that Sister Christina used in her prayers.
He had been named Taiga, but was referred to by the older kids as "Blackie", as his mask was a dark moon color that they joked was thought to drop the temperature of the room his was in by more than 5 degrees.
By the time that he was four years of age, he had learned almost all of the history of the continent as he had often been nursed while Sister Christina was teaching the other older kids.
When he was at age 5, he had finally been able to "see" most things in his world by using his "Touch Enhancement" skill to feel the vibrations that each of his small steps gave off. These vibrations bounced off of other objects and through this, he could basically see the world. He then decided that he was old enough to go out by himself, and immediately went and explored outside.
It turns out that he lived in the southernmost region of the kingdom called Dragonscale that bordered the dark territories to the north where the demon invasions were coming from. To the east lay the the ocean nation of Plythoness while to the west laid the Allied nations, where a group of smaller countries had joined together and co-ruled the region. Finally, to the south of the Dragonscale Kingdom lay the Ancient Forest, where it was rumored that none who entered ever returned as it was especially dangerous to outsiders and furthermore, the whole human race had been cursed by the forest's spirit, making it so that humans that entered the forest where much more likely to encounter dangerous creatures in it.
He walked out of the back of the orphanage and saw the immense towering trees that made up the cold forest named the Ancient Forest. He immediately took into account all of the low fog that covered most of the forest and wondered to himself asking if he was really crazy.
Of course, he knew the answer already, 'I am definitely the most crazy and mentally unstable person there is in this world!' and he gave off a chilling grin. He then proceeded to walk into the forest.
The reason for this decision was that he wanted to use his "Growth" skill to level up his "Resilience" skill. Currently, as he looked at his own body using the "Sage's Eye" he noticed that his stats were really weak and that he desperately needed to upgrade them to start to put his plans into action, as he had decided long ago that he would make it so that living in this world would not be boring!

He had a naturally large mana pool due to his skill, his intelligence was extraordinary as he had been able to learn many things through Sister Christina's lessons, and most of his skills had already been activated reaching level 1, while he had leveled up "Touch Enhancement" and "Insight" to level 2 due to the constant use of these skills. Furthermore, his "Remember" and "Sage's Eye" were already maxed out as that was how they had been when he regained control of his body at two years old.
After reading his weak attributes for the hundredth time, he immediately went into the forest and started eating everything that he could find as he new that this was how he was going to build up his "Resilience" skill. He also trained hard in the forest, using a very dumbed down version of his training program that he had developed in his previous life that was most fit for being able to bring his body to its limits letting him reach extraordinary hights.
After doing 30 minutes of this training, he collapsed as some of the poison that he had ingested had started to take effect, but their impact was greatly lessened due to his "Resilience" skill so he only experienced a slight headache and some dizziness.
After he finished his physical training, he started meditating at the top of a high in the middle of the forest and tried to access his vast mana pool, but at this point in time, it felt unreachable as trying to access it was like trying to use a toothpick to push an elephant. He eventually gave up at dusk and returned back to the orphanage.
