Chapter 2: Ollivanders and Dangers

What Should I Do?

Uncertainty engulfs me. Just thinking about everything I would have to face to survive while studying at Hogwarts gives me a headache. Trolls, giant spiders, professors with dark intentions, deadly snakes, and ethereal creatures that devour joy and hope. The list of threats seems endless, and among them stands the figure of Albus Dumbledore, the most powerful wizard of all, shrouded in an aura of mystery that unsettles you.

The year is 1974. The wizarding world is in a tense calm, a stillness that precedes the storm. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters stir in the shadows, weaving their plans for absolute dominion. Meanwhile, in the corridors of Hogwarts, a young Slytherin prodigy is in his fourth year of studies: Severus Snape.

However, he has yet to give birth to his most infamous creation: the "Sectumsempra" spell, a dark variation of the non-lethal "Rictusempra" spell. This incantation, capable of opening deep furrows in the skin of its victim, has not yet been conceived, but its seed germinates in Severus's mind, waiting for the opportune moment to bloom.

The movies and books don't do justice to the genius of Severus Snape. His prowess in the magical arts goes far beyond what is shown in fiction.

I don't have any feelings for my father other than hatred. As for my mother, I love her, but I suppose it's not the same now after reincarnating since I only have her in fragments of memories.

One week before the second part of my fourth year at Hogwarts begins, I'll go to Diagon Alley. I need to check something!

This body is a mess too. It looks like he's never exercised before. I should start a good diet and go to the gym. I've always wanted to try, maybe be some kind of ninja with magic at my disposal.

Maybe I can do it.

END POV

Severus left the room with a different aura. He was no longer just a teenager; he was Mad Dog! His footsteps were silent as those of a trained assassin. His mind, imbued with the military discipline he had acquired, analyzed the situation coldly. Upon reaching the kitchen, he found his mother, Eileen Prince, a pure-blood woman belonging to the renowned Prince family, famous for their mastery of potion-making and alchemy.

"Severus, come eat something," Eileen urged him in a maternal tone.

Severus nodded silently and sat down at the table, taking a piece of hard bread and sipping cold coffee. As he chewed, his mind couldn't help but think of Lily Potter, the mother of the surviving child and his best friend.

He vividly recalled the heated argument he had had with her weeks before his reincarnation, where he had called her "mudblood" in a fit of anger and jealousy, caused by the time she spent with James Potter and his friends.

A new thought crossed his mind: "I don't need to fix that relationship," he said to himself. "What I really need is to get away from the main plot. If I get close to Lily, I'll also get close to Potter, and from what I've seen in the 8 movies, 7 books, and multiple fanfictions, the Potters always attract trouble."

With renewed determination, Severus made the decision to focus on his own growth. His goal was to become a powerful wizard, mastering all kinds of spells, curses, and even dark magic. He knew that this path would not be easy, but he was willing to face any challenge to achieve his goal.

POV Sev

Boredom washed over me in the solitude of the house. Severus's wand didn't seem to be compatible with me, so my decision was clear: I needed to acquire a new one at Ollivanders' shop. In addition, it was imperative to resume practicing my magical skills, after four years of learning at Hogwarts. Severus, a model student,

After a hearty meal and an effort to dress in something less gloomy than usual – Snape, no doubt, had vampire aspirations – I headed out into the street. I raised my wand, and in that instant, a gust of wind and blinding light enveloped me. It was the Knight Bus, three stories tall and a striking shade of purple, with the inscription "Knight Bus" in gold letters. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop before me, and without hesitation, I hopped on. The bus resumed its journey while I paid two knuts to the conductor.

Callejon diagon, Charing cross

He crossed the threshold of Tom's bar and his gaze swept across the crowd. A whirlwind of drunks and prostitutes filled the place, creating a dense and smoky atmosphere. The environment, far from being welcoming, gave off a rough and decadent energy.

But beyond the surface, Severus's mind was churning with deep reflections on magic and its role in the world. The imminent arrival of an era of magical discoveries, driven by Muggle technological advances, heralded an uncertain and tension-filled future.

Snape lamented the stagnation of the wizarding world, tied to traditions and customs that impeded its progress. Despite its enormous potential, magic was limited by a myopic vision that did not allow its true potential to be explored.

He questioned the rigidity of the division between white magic and dark magic, considering it a stigma imposed by society. For him, magic was simply a tool, and its nature depended solely on the intention and use given to it.

However, he recognized the existence of exceptions, such as Horcruxes, objects imbued with dark magic for a malignant purpose. In these cases, the evil nature of magic was undeniable.

The imminent collision between the wizarding world and the Muggle world presented itself as an inevitable event, fraught with potential conflicts.

Ollivanders, a wand shop established in 382 B.C., was an ancient establishment, its walls weathered by time and draped in dusty cobwebs like forgotten curtains. Despite its pure-blood lineage and the thriving wandmaking business that sustained them, the shop seemed oblivious to the passage of time, trapped in an atmosphere of stillness and decay.
Severus, with his firm and determined stride, crossed the threshold of the shop. A small bell tinkled, announcing his arrival, and his eyes fell upon the shelves lined with wands, each exuding an aura of power and mystery. Suddenly, a hunched figure emerged from the shadows, with snow-white hair and eyes that sparkled with piercing intelligence. It was Garrick Ollivanders, the legendary wandmaker.

Translation:

Ollivanders approached Snape with a sly smile. "Good day, Mr. Snape. I remember you as if it were yesterday," he said in a raspy voice. "Pine wood and dragon heartstring core, right?"

Severus nodded curtly. "That's correct, Mr. Ollivanders," he replied in a cold, detached voice. "But I'm afraid I no longer feel the same connection to my wand. I've come in search of a new one

Ollivanders' eyes widened in surprise. "You've lost the connection to your wand?" he exclaimed in disbelief. "That's a very rare occurrence, Mr. Snape. Something must be weighing heavily on your mind for such a thing to happen."

Snape remained silent, his lips pressed into a thin line. The young wizard's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. He suspected that the loss of his wand connection was related to his recent reincarnation.

Ollivanders, with his natural perceptiveness, sensed Snape's unease. "Don't worry, Mr. Snape," he said in a reassuring voice. "Together we will find the wand that suits your new reality."

Ollivanders led Snape through the shop, their footsteps echoing in the dusty silence. He showed him wands of different woods, cores, and lengths, explaining the magical properties of each. Snape observed carefully, searching in each wand for a spark of recognition, a connection that would tell him he had found his new companion.

Finally, after trying several wands, Ollivanders presented him with a dark wooden box adorned with runic symbols. "I believe this wand might be the right one for you, Mr. Snape," he said with a hopeful voice.

Snape opened the box with trembling hands and revealed a yew wand with a core of Thestral hair and phoenix feather. He took it carefully, feeling a warm and familiar energy flowing through his hand. At that moment, he knew Ollivanders was right. This was the wand that would accompany him on his journey into the future.
