Chapter 17: Chapter 15 - Chess and Truths
(Author's Note - I purposefully timed the event to this time. For those who don't know, blitz chess is a variant of chess where you have a limited amount of time for each person, anywhere above 3 minutes and no more than 10 minutes, where for each nee turn they only gain 2 seconds. I hope you enjoyed my self created story chapter from the extra chapter. Though if you didn't enjoy it, oh well. P.S. this chapter is longer than I expected but I don't feel like it's a good idea to split it into two.)
Having figured nothing major happened Rias, her peerage, and most of Sona's peerage left back to their respective areas where they usually reside at during the Devil duties. The only ones remaining at the Valinor tree were Angus whose right hand was still on the tree, along with Tsubaki who was standing to the side, and Sona who was still standing there behind Angus.
After having calmed down finally, Angus turned around and noticed Sona and Tsubaki were still around. With all the others having left after noticing that it wasn't an attack on the school. Having realized it was the day of promise Angus decided to ask Sona if she was ready to play against him.
(Angus) - "Say, Sona. Would you like to fulfill our promise for a game of chess since the night is still young? As a creature of the night, it's not a problem if we don't sleep after all. It just only helps our mental stress after all."
(Sona) - "I don't mind. I hope you can tell me more about yourself while we play. If you don't mind of course."
(Angus) - "Will Tsubaki be joining you as well?"
(Sona) - "Yes, she will, if you don't mind that is."
(Angus) - "Then let me ask you a question. Do you trust her enough to the point where you would be willing to believe that she would never betray your trust in her?"
(Sona) - "I do indeed trust her to never betray me."
(Angus) - "How about the rest of your peerage?"
(Sona) - "... Most of them are newer so I can't truthfully say I can."
(Angus) - "Then it seems you don't have blind trust. Then I shall believe your trust and talk a bit about myself while playing a game of chess with you."
(Sona) - "Certainly. Let's head back to the student council room and I will send the others out while we play a round of chess. It will be just us three."
(Angus) - "Understood. Let's not keep them out for too long so let's play a game of Blitz Chess. With 5 minutes per player on the clock."

After Sona agreed, the three of them headed back towards the student council room where she booted the others out and told them to go do their jobs as Devil's while the three of them were in the room. Angus began speaking to Sona while Tsubaki stood at attention to the side as they set up the board and timers with Tsubaki watching the timers.
(Sona) - "You can take the first move. I will play black and you can play white. Feel free to tell your story while we play."
(Angus) - "Well, it's most certainly not a short enough story to finish in this time of a blitz chess game. I'll tell you the whole story after our game. Just remember everything if for your ears and your ears only."
(Sona) - "I understand, Angus."
After finishing to set up their game of blitz chess. They began playing.
(Author's Note - This is the Anand vs Kasparov match from 1996 in the blitz chess final. So all credits to that match. If you want the whole play by play you can find it online.)
Turn 1 - Angus moves a pawn from E2 to E4. Sona moves a pawn from C7 to C5.
Turn 2 - Knight at G1 to F3. Pawn at D7 to D6.
Turn 3 - Pawn at D2 to D4. The pawn at C5 takes White Pawn at D4.
Turn 4 - Knight at F3 takes Black pawn at D4. Knight at G8 to F6.
Turn 5 - Knight at B1 to C3. Pawn at A7 to A6.
Turn 6 - Bishop at C1 to E3. Knight at F6 to G4.
Turn 7 - Bishop at E3 to G5. Pawn at H7 to H6.
Turn 8 - Bishop at G5 to H4. Pawn at G7 to G5.
Turn 9 - Bishop at H4 to G3. Bishop at F8 to G7.
Turn 10 - Bishop at F1 to E2. Pawn at H6 to H5.
Turn 11 - Bishop at E2 takes Knight at G4. Bishop at C8 takes Bishop at G4.
As the match continued it finally neared the end.
Turn 52 - King at H3 to G3. Knight at E3 to D1.
Turn 53 - Rook at F2 to F4. Pawn at E4 to E3.
Turn 54 - Rook at G4 to G3. Sona time out.
Winner Angus Apocalypse.
(Angus) - "That was a good game Sona though at that point there was nothing else you could do to win," said Angus a little smugly.
(Sona) - "Is that so?" said Sona wondering if there was anything else she could do to turn the tables.
(Angus) - "What not satisfied? I can show you if you want."
(Sona) - "If you would."
(Angus) - "Well your 3 pawns are useless to help anything at this time, your knight is also too far away to help in the turn needed for me to take your bishop in front of your king to checkmate you, so the only viable option is for you move your Rook or your King. Anyway, you move your king my Queen at E7 can take your Bishop at G7 and put your King in checkmate. If you want to try to break out of this strong-arm then you could move your Rook from H6 to G6. Which I would then with my Rook at g4 take your Rook at G6. Which then you can only delay your loss by one turn by moving your King which my Queen would then take one of your Bishop putting you Instantly into checkmate again."
(Sona) - "*Sigh* It's completely my loss then. Not only did I run out of time but any good moves. I guess this now makes you my fiance for now then."
(Angus) - "Indeed it does." said by Angus with a brilliant smile on his face. "Well how about I tell you a story about myself so you know more about myself."
(Sona) - "Well, that's what we are here in the room for."
(Angus) - "Let me first ask the two of you. Do you believe in the concept of Parallel Worlds? Worlds that are similar but theoretically should never be connecting."
(Sona) - "Well it's not something I would completely dismiss but not something I would also agree is completely true."
(Tsubaki) - "I believe it very well may be a possibility as well as Angus-san."
(Angus) - "You see my soul is originally from a parallel world. I grew up in parallel earth that's a little way into the future of your world. Though in that world the entertainment standards are much better than this one. However, one day a certain game was released to the public. It had no known or origin and was overall was very negatively seen at first even if it was the world's first full drive virtual reality game."
(Sona) - "Wa-Wait a second. You mean to say your from another world originally?"
(Angus) - "Indeed, one where the concept of magic was nothing more than a party trick. Now then, back to the topic. This virtual reality game was called The Goddesses' Domain. It was a game consisted of 11 main worlds with a bunch of pocket worlds that connect to it. In the game, each world was ruled by a Goddess."
(Sona) - "If I may ask, what does this game have to do with anything?"
(Angus) - "It may have been what it was advertising as. A game to let people experience a new world. As in that game that tree you saw me touching outside also existed in it. It was a special tree that typically only existed in the 7th world where only people about level 550 and passed the 6th tier test could enter. The tree's natural illusion powers also restrict people from seeing it if they found it another world if it was grown there. In this world, it was not uncommon for a male to have a harem of females because unlike in this one or the Earth I came from it had a birthrate of 11 females for every male born."
(Sona) - "I assume your telling me this your thought process is something along the lines of 'I'm willing to take other people as my wives and concubines if I like them as well' is that correct?"
(Angus) - "Indeed. You see originally I felt this world was nothing than what it seemed a highly advanced game with amazing AI controlling the NPC in the game. However, now I'm starting to wonder otherwise. Since both this world and that one is capable of having a Valinor tree. Perhaps that world was real as well. So when the god of my world reincarnated me as I requested and I appeared in your world I had chosen my powers I specialized in during the game. Along with my inventory ability. My special bloodline as a Vampire that is different from the body I reincarnated into. In other words, pieces similar but not that same as Evil Pieces that work by transforming people into what you all consider the Super-class tier levels. However, my last wish for a super-strong special attack. However, due to my negative affinity with it, I received negative feedback from using the skill and go into a coma for a 1,000 years but this skill is capable of playing anyone at the True-God class level. Better yet to say, the power level of Great Red, Ouroboros Dragon, and Trihexa."
(Sona) - "Then is it possible that you used that skill to slowly break the chains that sealed you?"
(Angus) - "Yep, that's correct, Sona. You see only when I was in that game world I remembered a past I forgot once in reality. I originally grew up with a childhood friend named Alice. A sweet young girl that I loved before you see. One day before her family was moving away to another place the two of were allowed into town. But, as the two of strolling around, a robber appeared before us running down the street with a knife and a metal bar. I lost my memories of the previous year because when I tried to push her out of the way I got smashed in the head with the metal bar in the robber's hands. Alice on the other hand after being pushed out of the way got stabbed after chasing after the guy who knocked me out to the point of bleeding heavily."
(Angus) - "In the end, she didn't make it. My parents didn't tell me. Her parents didn't blame me. However, her appearance reminds me so much of Koneko in this world you see. I just can't help but overlay the image of the two of them. That's when I found comfort in the arms of Yves. A young woman I met inside The Goddesses' Domain."
(Sona) - "So that's why I barely managed to hear you whisper something along the lines of 'Yves I miss you' or something like that. I doubt the others heard it as I was the closest to you."
(Angus) - "Yes, that's correct. You see, although a bit prideful after being around her for a few years in TGD she opened up to me and we became a couple. We even had become engaged at one point. ...*sigh* calm down... *sigh* ... But one day, my real parents died. I went to attend a funeral when it was time. I had never regretted a decision so much in my life before. I lost Yves that day I went to the funeral. What I came back to was nothing but the corpse if the woman I loved just recently dead in the hands by one of the Goddesses' Heroes. It was even the same damned Goddess we both believed in! That day Goddess of light Hikari took her life while I was gone! Although Yves tried to hang on she died after fighting 10 heroes of around the same level! In the end, she failed to kill that damned Hercules due to him having multiple lives."
(Angus) - "I spent a long time working my ass off to kill him and other heroes of the Light Goddess Hikari. You see, I went from Light Goddess believer to a Darkness Goddess believer. You see, her offer to me is what sunk me into the war against the Light. I was given the ability to bring Yves back. A trillion souls of what this world would consider the Low-class level or souls of higher tiers for an equivalent in the difference. I became the most hated and respected figure in that world on my own after that. I even created an elixir that not only revived, but also healed, and buffed its target without a side effect, I killed billions of people all over for Yves. Yet! Yet I lost my damn life in reality when I was at 999,999,538,398 souls. 461,000 and some away before I died and was brought back into this world. That is the story of the avenger alchemist Rain and the story of Akira Shimizu the man who failed to live a full life like his parents wished. It is also the story of the man known as Angus Apocalypse and the truth behind the madness behind the calm mask in front of you. Just let me promise you this. If you truly do become my woman, I will do all I can to make you stay safe. Always."
(Tsubaki) - "Angus-san, this is quite a heavy story."
(Sona) - "I agree with you Tsubaki. I have a few questions. The first is while I'm flattered you are willing to take me as your wife, I have to know if a scenario happened where it was between me or Yves-san who would you sacrifice? Secondly, can you tell us about the end of the Great War? It's only vaguely mentioned."
(Angus) - "To the first question, I would never sacrifice either of you for the other we truly become fiance and fiancee. I would rather sacrifice myself to protect those I care for. For your second question, it's simple. The end of the Great War is likely never truly described is likely because of an agreement between the three sides. Azazel didn't truly care much for the war, as you know the 4 original Satans are dead, and the Biblical God's side backed off because when the last Maou sacrificed themselves when I got sealed. In reaction to them sacrificing themselves for me, I released my special skill killing God in the end. Everything else that happened is something I don't know or remember."
(Sona/Tsubaki) - "Wha!?"
(Sona) - "God's dead!?"
(Tsubaki) - "Are you positive you killed him?"
(Angus) - "If your talking about God's system still working then it's likely his 4 head seraphs. I would even presume it's Micheal who is maintaining God's system so it doesn't fall apart."
(Sona) - "Then if that's the case why doesn't Azazel as the only head left to try to contend for supremacy?"
(Angus) - "*sigh* He has no interest. While all three sides are also not fit to continue fighting. The Angel's side lost God and quite a few Seraphs, The Devil's side lost the 4 Maou along with half their major clans, while the Fallen Angel's side has lost a good chunk of their lower fighters leaving only most of their stronger fighters. Either way, all 3 sides are not fit for a continued fight so they mostly pulled the war down to skirmishes with low amounts of heavy conflicts left as they die down more it's likely they would soon go for a Peace Treaty to tone down all sides of the war."
Noticing the two of them still shocked Angus sighed once again and decided it was best to take his leave.
(Angus) - "I will leave you all to process the information I have given you all. I trust you won't share it. Oh, yes, I also look forward to my first day of class tomorrow by the way. I can't wait to see everyone's reaction when I introduce myself as your fiance Sona!"
Leaving Sona and Tsubaki behind in the student council room to process what they just learned and Sona with the fact that Angus was now considered her fiance. Meanwhile, Angus headed off towards the room he borrowed from Rias and decided to sleep just to rest himself up and wash himself up in their club room before heading off to rest.

Raikou1688 This was all I could finish writing in 2 weeks ... It honestly depresses me that I'm so busy with trying to get stuff for school because my housing fucked up so I have to try to rent an apartment and all this other stuff.
