Chapter 4: SELF REPAIRING CLOTHES (30th January 2019)

SELF REPAIRING CLOTHES (30th January 2019)

The concept begins with making clothes composed of Living Cells (Plant Cells) or something of the like that can be woven into durable fabric. There would be the need to ensure that the cells are preserved (they do not die).

When a tear occurs in the fabric, it can be made to regenerate itself through the application of special spectra of light that replicates Sunlight. The concept revolves around the ability of Plants to utilize Photosynthesis as a means to grow. If the fabric can be created out of Living Cells, the application could extend not only to fashion but architecture as well and any form or work revolving around Construction.

(Inspired By Dream The Future's Smart Cities and Legend Of Jo-lan's Earth Suturing Seeds).

The Growth and Regenerative Capabilities of the Fabric also imply that it will eventually be possible to design clothes that can alter themselves in style or functionality depending on External Stimuli and would not need to be sent for repairs repeatedly.

The regulation of regeneration/growth rate of the fabric that is which parts of the fabric should be regenerated can also alter he shape of the fabric.
