Chapter 32: WS: Beast Hunting [3]
"Arisa-eis."
A loud roar of beast resounds throughout the entire forest, and Eugene who is surrounded by the demonized beast is still in the same position with only his arm and sword, doing the work.
A magic aura is being emitted by his rapier.
Red mists through his grip crawling through the blade, the mist surrounding the sword indicates an immense amount of mana that Eugene is extracting and transmitting.
With one swing the wolf that jumped towards Eugene was sliced apart.

Players raised their heads to see the scoreboard and some couldn't help but feel a sense of crisis by the continuous rise of points of team four. Everyone knew who is the leader of team four so despite Eugene's hate-to-lose attitude and known arrogant attitude they wouldn't dare to look down on someone who is only ranked behind Kaizer.
All they knew is that Eugene is now moving and is farming points.

Sixteen points exceeded team three in just a few minutes.
Everyone's heart is beating fast and Kaizer's team stops halfway to watch the scoring board looking so excited. After all, the transition from being the last to being the third is too huge that they couldn't help but feel amazed.
Eugene on the other side already move away from his position.
Jumping on the tree trunks, he lunged forwards, sword raised, aiming for another five points by killing the level five tiger beast that appeared after one another.
"Roar!"
The demonized beast sees Eugene jump forward and raise his paw to deflect Eugene's attack. However, the plan of changing course didn't happen because instead of stabbing the beast, Eugene change to slicing it causing the paw of the tiger beast to leave the body, following a loud growl of expressed pain.
Eugene didn't dare to land his feet on the ground because of the demonized beast snake.
He could only jump around the tree while attacking the beasts.

Total of nineteen points which is still below team two who had originally seventeen points which rises to twenty and team one which originally has twenty points which now raise to thirty.
Sitting on the tree branch, Eugene held his chin into thinking.
He didn't eat breakfast. So hungry.
This is the scene that his teammates saw when they arrived which made their hair stands as the attention of the beasts turn to them. However, the strange thing is that the demonized beast only drops a glance at them and continues staring at Eugene who is above the tree with anger.
"Commander!"
Eugene came back to his senses.
"You're here, be careful, these cuties are a bit mad."
A question mark appeared above their head and took another look at the beast that is not moving and only looking at Eugene while growling, hissing, and showing their teeth.
Team: "I'm afraid it's not a bit mad... this beast is probably planning a murder. A type of ambush attack to kill their commander."
Reign: "Oh, my god."
Timber like Reign almost collapses too because the beast around is not only twenty-plus but thirty-plus! How can they handle that when most of the beast present is now only level five and higher?! Is their commander not farming but planning a suicide?!
"E-Eugene..." Timber's face turns pale.
Seeing this, Eugene suddenly felt bad but he couldn't move to comfort Timber because once he goes towards their direction, he was sure that the beast would automatically attack them which can cause casualties.

Everyone raises their head.
Forty-five points?!
Eugene purses his lips: "I'll go, if one of you can't do it you can find a safe place." seeing team one's rise of points to forty-five Eugene just like in the past still feel quite inferior to Kaizer not because he sees himself weak but because he was restrained and couldn't run around crazily.
Fuck heaven, once he was free, he'll get his revenge.
Sanciel: "I'll go."
Theoran nodded, "Me too." after all he's also a high ranker. It would be shameful if he just hides and watch his teammates fight.
There are many audiences outside the Sena Forest as the academy is open to the public. His parents are probably present so he can't bear to be a nuisance.
Timber sighed, "Forget it, just a demonized beast. I'm sure I can do it too!"
Zaoran and Reign look at each other and grinned.
"Go, let's go!"
Eugene raises the corner of his lips.
Not bad.
The moment he stood, all demonized beasts present also moved. Eugene chuckled and jump down pointing the tip of his rapier on the ground and murmuring..."Arisa-kaksi"
The beast's ear perked as they heard the sound of drop water and suddenly without anyone noticing the beast all drop their body as if being pressed by gravity. The beasts all froze and couldn't move, in their [beast] eyes a sea of blood appeared and numerous dead bodies pile up everywhere, as if they enter the underground world.
Then, all the beast howls.
"..."
"What happens?"
"That's crazy!"
The audience is full of exclamation marks as they watch an unbelievable moment from the [water] mirror [screen].
Marquis Shradinza stood in surprise while Grand Duke Karsten who is sitting glued his attention to the mirror not caring about Marquis Shradinza beside him...not wanting to miss any details as Eugene stood straight being circled by beasts slumping on the ground.
Magic. But what kind?
The magician who is watching the warfare selection for fun shows a surprised expression because the moment the tip of Eugene's sword was dropped on the ground, a wave of mana swept them, and just like the demonized beasts, they are also temporarily suffocated.
"Damn. Magic?!"
Another magician frown, "Impossible, that's Eugene Shradinza from a warrior family, there's no way someone born into a knight family can use magic. It's just probably a mana control that makes his sword let out such an impact."
"A mana control with that strength?! How much mana can a knight have?!"
"No way, the mana of a knight and a magician are different, but the mana we felt just now is clearly mana from magicians, however, that's a Shradinza, there's no way a Shradinza uses magic. Who can explain what happen just now?"
Grand Duke Karsten purse his lips.
It's bad.
If people find out that Eugene is a dualist then the royal family and the church will interfere. If that happens Marquis Shradinza will lose his custody as Eugene will be put under his wing.
Knowing, a dualist is the most dangerous existence.
He, someone from a dualist family is already too much for other kingdoms to handle, if another one is born then Eugene will be in danger as he will be a target of assassination. After all, no one wanted the empire to grow stronger because there will always be greedy people wanting to take over. It is only because of the protection of De la Vallier that the empire is at peace.
"Marquis Shradinza is surprised? Isn't that normal knowing your son is a second ranker?"
Marquis Shradinza chokes, "S-Second ranker?"
Grand Duke Karsten cover his mouth and chuckled, "Don't tell me Marquis don't know how talented your son is? Isn't that visible enough seeing him as a commander in charge in this selection?"
Marquis Shradinza glare at the grand duke with red eyes, feeling a bit ashamed.
Sanciel and others are baffled but immediately came to their senses when Eugene looks at them and immediately said as a vice-commander: "Hurry and attack, it's an opportunity!"
Theoran didn't waste his time and rushed towards the lion.
Zaoran and Reign knew it and follow Theoran's footsteps. Timber on the side glance at Eugene who is still standing while watching them, his heart beat fast, and couldn't help but wonder what happened that make the beast restricted from their pace and can only suffer by being subdued without being able to fight back.
Nonetheless, Timber refuses to do anything and joins the battle.
Just standing made Eugene feel bored.
With hunger and boredom, he removes the restriction which made his team member caught off guard as the demon beast wildly rushes at them, wishing to tear their body apart.
Eugene let Sanciel and Theoran deal with big beasts and he goes off hunting the sinister snakes around. Yes, he walk a little bit far away from them with ease believing in his team member's strength but his eyes would never leave Timber's figure.

Eugene whistled while looking above and staring at the scoreboard hanging in the sky.
Twenty-nine points.
"Hiss!"
Eugene cursed and jump five meters away when the level 7 snakes appeared out of nowhere: "Damn. You cunning snakes really like to come out at good moments so you can ruin it."
Scratching his neck, Eugene swings his sword and walks forward.
"Unfortunately, that's what I hate the most."
The snakes open its mouth wide with poison dripping down its sharp teeth and rush towards Eugene at a quick speed making Eugene jump away in amazement: "Really, good moments are rare, you shouldn't ruin it, bad snake."
"ssssssss..."
"Anyways, I'm hungry, it's unfortunate that you're a poisonous snake."
Eugene slides his two fingers into the blade of his rapier and the red mists started to appear. When the familiar aura was felt, the demon beast immediately went crazy and pounced forward.
Eugene dodged and raise his sword to stab the snake but to his surprise the snake who was stab turn calm and wrapped the blade with its body and rush forward to bite his hand.
Eugene turns pale.
His trembling hand let go of his sword and wave his hand.
With red eyes, he grabs the snake and forcefully pulls it out, and throws it. His skin was torn, and his blood dripped. Eugene was too careless despite knowing that its a level 7 demonized beast, this made him want to punch himself. He should have eaten before selection to have energy.
Damn it. Waking up so late.
Bending, he grab his sword and throw it towards the direction of the snake that is planning to escape in anger and teleported before pulling his sword out of the snake's body and slicing it into pieces to satisfy his annoyance.
Team 4 | 35 points +10
"Good job buddy. Once I ate a meal I'll go hunt your race."
He'll make sure there would be no demonized beast snake existing in this forest.
Sighing, he look at his hands and saw that the veins where the part of his hand is bitten is turning gray due to poison. He sat down on the ground while his other hand keep stabbing the pieces of the dead snake, wondering what to do to remove the poison that could kill him.
In the end, he let it be. Just wipe his hand clean and hide it under the cape while walking back toward his team's direction, humming as if nothing happens.
This made Marquis Shradinza angry: "What's with that kid not calling an observer for treatment?! Is he planning to die?!"
Grand Duke Karsten also frowns.
The poison of a level 7 snake beast is deadly. Ignoring it means not caring about your life. This made Grand Duke Karsten dissatisfied and immediately call the leader of 'observers' to inform them of what happened to team four.
Hearing that someone is bitten by a level 7 demonized snake beast, they are immediately alarmed and contact the 'observers' inside the Sena forest.
However, strange things happen.
Some teams got lost and become out of track which made the observers anxious, some unexpectedly encounter a high-level demonized beast that should only be in the northern part and ended up being severely injured.
In just a short time, the audience became nervous.
"Hey, do you feel like something is wrong?"
The audience started to murmur and expressed their concern.
It was fine moments ago, why has it become like this now? Besides, shouldn't the first battle be easy? Why do they feel like the selection this time becomes harder?
Unlike the worries of the common people that are watching, the magicians and knights present find it more interesting and entertaining. They couldn't help but laugh and compare the previous selection to this one and even Neva Eusto from the military department looks excited.
"I'm betting my allowance, team 1 will top this battle."
Someone laugh, "Don't fight, I see the potential of team 4, didn't you see their commander? He was bitten by a level 7 demonized snake beast but instead of calling an observer to be brought out for treatment he just ignore the poison inside his body and walked like nothing happen. Can anyone of you do that? I bet you go panic hahaha."
"Damn, the commander of team 4 is something."
"In our generation, I never saw someone like that."
"Someone tell me, can he still live after a few minutes or hours?"
"I doubt that... level 7 snake poison is deadly, if it's not treated in an instant his muscle will turn stiff and his body organs will fail to function properly upon being eroded by poison. If not minutes then by an hour he will become paralyzed until he die."
"Maybe he thought that the world is so dull that he wanted to commit suicide? Hahahahaha."
One thing is for sure...Eugene doesn't care about his body.
Whether he lives or dies, he cares less.
Because at this moment, what Eugene is thinking...is all about food to fill his hungry stomach. No regrets of dying, only regrets of not eating breakfast. Again, at this rate, he will really not die of injured in battle but of hunger.
