Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Lower Grounds
"That is all, dismiss" as their professor ended the discussion.
Students started to stand up and prepare to leave.
"Oh, come and line up before me first. I need to give you badges"
Z diligently lined up as the cue formed. After a while, he received the badge. It was pure silver lined with gold. A huge S is also carved in front of it while at the back, it writes Cynosure.
"Do not forget to engrave your names on it, goodbye." as the professor left.
Students started to leave the classroom as well. Z was left behind as he was caught up staring and engraving the badge. Coincidentally, Lily was also there.
"Uhm, would you like to tour the school?" asked Z to Lily.
"Hmm, sure, I guess" as Lily replied with an innocent look.
Z and Lily went to visit various classrooms to find the classes they will enter for tomorrow. Z decided to take blue level mana classes and violet level core classes. To his shock, Lily actually chose three types of classes; violet mana, violet core, and violet mind.
"You possess three talents?" he asked
"Yes, I was very lucky" Lily humble stated.
"Wow! You are amazing!"
Lily just shyly lowered her head.
"I think we should go to the library. I need to study combinations of power..." Lily said as she shifted the subject.
"Great, I need to learn a lot about types of beasts too. I am also very curious about the lower grounds the professor is talking about."
"You do not know about the lower grounds?" Lily asked as confusion was revealed in her face.
"Haha, I was born in a very secluded place. Maybe you could tell me on the way"
"Sure. Lower ground is where we live. It is just a large area of land separated by the body of water. According to books, this place is bound by a mysterious power. The edges of this world are next to what seems like an impregnable wall that no one can cross."
"Are you talking about that?" as Z looked at the enormous gray wall that is impossible to not see.
"Huh?.... Haha, no. That is the center of the world. People called it the grand tower. It is the key to leaving this world."
"Then why don't we enter it already?"
"Father said that only worthy people can enter the tower. Legends say that up until now, only violet stage adventurers ever entered the tower, and that anyone who entered there... never came back. It is theorized that they are still either on the tower or have already ascended."
Fascination and excitement couldn't help but be revealed from the face of Z.
"Seems like my journey will be long" as Z said with a confident smile "Seems like I need to quickly reach violet stage"
"It can work but know that not all violet stages can enter. Furthermore, some Grandmasters who tried to enter said that the price to enter is something they are unwilling to pay."

"Endless journey" Z said solemnly as he stared at the walls of the tower.
