After Zhao Ang said those words, there was some silence between Wang Yi and Zhao Ang causing the situation to turn somewhat awkward between them.
Zhao Ang was waiting for his wife's reply and when he began to think that he had offended his wife, he heard her voice, "Since Husband was confused on who to choose, then I will be frank that we should swear allegiance to Cao Cao if we want to stay in power."
Wang Yi said with a voice full of seriousness and a tone that could be said to be with finality, and Zhao Ang could only look with a dilemma across his entire face, and fear because this is a major choice.

As Wang Yi and Zhao Ang made an important decision that will change the course of the fight between Ma Teng and Cao Cao, one that hold a high risk for them, to the east from Tianshui, to the Northeast at Nanpi Yuan Shao's capital, Liu Bei's letter for alliance arrive.
When the letter arrived at Yuan Shao's court, Feng Ji the one who brought it to Yuan Shao, "My Lord, there's a secret letter from Liu Bei that has just arrived.", as he was saying that, Feng Ji gave the letter to Yuan Shao.
Yuan Shao took it from Feng Ji's hand and opened the letter reading the content inside, "Liu Bei was asking to have an alliance with us and promised us lands from Cao Cao when we attacked them together, what do the two of you think?", Yuan Shao asked Feng Ji and Guo Tu, while he gave the letter to them.
"This is very suspicious My Lord, why does Liu Bei suddenly ask for an alliance, we should proceed with caution.", said Guo Tu as he received the letter from Yuan Shao and read the content inside.
Feng Ji listened to what Guo Tu said and had a different opinion, "Guo Tu's words have some merit My Lord, but we should proceed with this offer for alliance because we would be the one with the position of power.", as he was saying so, he takes a glance at Guo Tu.
Yuan Shao on the other hand was surprised that Feng Ji and Guo Tu had a different opinion, as they had never had differences in opinion before and were always on the same page, so their differences in opinion caused him to be confused.
Besides Feng Ji, Guo Tu was also surprised as he never expected that Feng Ji would have a contradicting opinion from him, he immediately turned toward Feng Ji abandoning the letter he was reading.
"I think we should refuse it, Feng Ji, because we don't have any benefits whatsoever from entering an alliance with Liu Bei.", Gou Tu said to Feng Ji putting the letter aside and not caring for it.
Feng Ji frowned upon hearing what Guo Tu had just said, he never expected that Guo Tu would be this shortsighted, not seeing the benefit of the alliance with Liu Bei.
He turned to Guo Tu cupping his hand to him, "Master Guo Tu, we shouldn't be so shortsighted and not see the benefits this alliance has.", the moment these words came from Feng Ji, Guo Tu was offended deeply never expecting such a word.

He ordered the servant to call Tian Feng here, and say to him that he was summoned by him and to arrive as soon as possible, the servant received the order and immediately left the hall unknown to Guo Tu and Feng Ji who quarreled with each other.
Due to an offer of an alliance from Liu Bei, Yuan Shao for the first time faced a divided Feng Ji and Guo Tu, not even acknowledging him causing him to call for Tian Feng who he had alienated in the past.
Different from the condition in Nanpi to the southwest from its location at Chengdu, Liu Bei's offer for an alliance arrived with great fanfare and was more open than arriving at Yuan Shao's Capital.
The envoy came and gave the letter to Liu Zhang's advisors Fa Zheng and Zhang Song, who were young advisors that strived to prove themself in Liu Zhang's court, and if Lie Fan heard of these names he must know them because they played an important role in the original timeline.
It was the two of them alongside Meng Da who was also Liu Zhang's advisor, that caused Liu Zhang to lose Yi Province to Liu Bei because it was the three of them who schemed to have Liu Bei attack Liu Zhang.
Zhang Song as the leader was able to convince Liu Zhang to invite Liu Bei to have a meeting with him in Yi Province, and Fa Zheng alongside Meng Day to be the people who were sent to invite Liu Bei.
On his mission alongside Meng Da, Fa Zheng successfully convinced Liu Bei to take advantage of the situation and attack Yi Province from within, which made a turning point for Liu Bei's force.
Then before the meeting between Liu Bei and Liu Zhang at the city of Fucheng, Fa Zheng recommended a plan to capture Liu Zhang at the meeting to Pang Tong, who was acting as director general for Liu Bei's Army at the time.
However, both Pang Tong and Liu Bei did not heed his advice. Later on, when Liu Bei began an active campaign against Liu Zhang, Fa Zheng provided information about the topography of Luoxian, which was captured by Liu Bei's Army at a fast speed.
After the capture, Fa Zheng then tries to convince Liu Zhag to surrender by sending him a letter but didn't work as Liu Zhang persists in resisting Liu Bei.
Finally, Liu Zhang's surrendered due to Ma Chao who joined Liu Zhang for shelter, defected to Liu Bei which cemented Liu Bei's victory, and Fa Zheng was appointed as Governor of Shu due to his contribution.
Back to the current event, Fa Zheng and Zhang Song brought the letter to Liu Zhang, who was holding a court meeting at the time the letter arrived, and presented it to Liu Zhang in front of everyone.
Zhao Wei and Wang Shang who holds the highest power in Liu Zhang's court, were intrigued by the sudden arrival of this letter, and as the one with the highest power, Zhang Wei asked for the letter from Liu Zhang who even hadn't the chance to open the letter.
Everyone in the hall wasn't surprised by this love including Liu Zhang, who followed Zhang Wei and Wang Shang's words like a dog following the order of its master, and the ones who were dissatisfied by this were Fa Zheng, Zhang Song, and Meng Da.
"Why this is a surprise, it was an offer for an alliance from Liu Bei, My Lord. He promised us some lands from Liu Biao's territory, well the ones that Liu Biao holds right now.", Zhao Wei said to Liu Zhang as he was reading the content of the letter.
This news caused a discussion to ensue in Liu Zhang's court and Wang Shang who heard what Zhang Wei said was also surprised, "It was a tempting offer this alliance is, we are without any allies in the land and having one isn't a bad thing, especially since Liu Bei God's the center of the land."
Wang Shan's words immediately receive some support, as what he said is true that Liu Bei holds a strategic location as his domain, but Fa Zheng on the side doesn't share the same opinion as him
"I'm sorry Master Wang Shang, but I disagree with your opinion. While it's true that Liu Bei held a strategic location, it was also a dangerous one since he was surrounded by strong enemies, that could become our enemies as well like Cao Cao and Lie Fan, so this alliance didn't hold any benefit.", as Fa Zheng was saying this words, the whole hall was shrouded in since while Zhang Wei and Wang Shan angered by Fa Zheng's defiance and challenge of their power.
