"Jane, I'm home." Sam states as he enters the house. It's night and the lights are out. Though as he enters he notices a plate of baked cookies, still seeming somewhat warm meaning they were made recently.
There is a note as well saying 'Missed you! Love you!'
Sam smiled at this, though it was a fake smile. Not because he didn't believe what was written or that he disliked Ruby's affection, no, it was because he could see with his psychic senses the moment he entered the house the state Ruby was in.
Ruby was pinned on the ceiling, a cut on her stomach, her blood flow halted, her mouth open in a silent scream and the demonic soul pinned.
He could sense the fear, sorrow, despair and unwillingness that she has hidden so well, only someone like he who knows her or has a strength far greater than his would be able to sense past her defenses.
The shower was running audibly as an illusion for him. It was meant to be an explanation for him before the horror descended as to why Ruby hadn't answered when he entered.
Sam decided to go along with it for now, though he himself has other plans.
As he entered the room though, he immediately without any warning looked up, seeing the sight of Ruby.
He saw her eyes, they were full of horror and despair, he could see that she was unwilling in this. Curiously he could also see the demon's power for the first time, so much like what he dealt with years ago when cleansing himself but far more potent in malice.
Though the level of power ready for release was more than enough to kill Ruby, so it seems she's become an expendable pawn. He wondered when he first met her at Brady's behest why they would set Ruby as his girlfriend, he actually expected Jessica in which he actually would've made it so they didn't end up together.
Though he has his theories as to why, one of which being that Jane was someone who actually had encountered the supernatural it seems. Possessed by a demon in fact was the alibi they went with as to why her car crashed after coming home from a friend's birthday party.
With their expectations of him based on their assumption of his ignorance of their plans and his need for companionship and understanding after his 'fall out' with his family and devil's traps, blessed water and salt doing her no harm, the plan would seem to anyone flawless.
Which it actually was, if it were anyone but him who it was used against. Though he does have to commend Azazel for his mastery of spells, practically negating all weaknesses of a demon for years on end is quite a feat.
Though Sam's musing was all but instant for he immediately raised his hand and counteracted Azazel's power, releasing Ruby from his vice-like grip.
As Ruby falls from the ceiling with a scream now her voice is no longer restrained Sam catches her bridal style, "I've got you, don't worry." He tells her as he puts her down.
"How-" Ruby begins getting out of her shock, but before she can question Sam she gets interrupted as the house suddenly bursts into flame.
"The how and why don't matter right now, Ruby-" Sam tries to tell her,
"How do you know that nam-"
"Ruby listen to me!" Sam orders her sternly, holding her tightly and looking into her eyes, making Ruby go still.
"It doesn't matter right now how I know anything, what matters right now is that you answer one very important question. On whose side are you?" Sam questions her as he holds the fire at bay around them with his psychic abilities. The fire looking as if it fears to approach.
"Are you on Lucifer's side or mine? Tell me Ruby! Who do you belong to, him or me!?"
Ruby at first doesn't know what to say. She never expected to be in this situation, hell she thought she was going to die today and never get another chance to be with Sam. But after a moment she steeled herself and abandoned any questions about how Sam would know any of this to even ask, and answered.
"Yours, I'm yours Sam, completely yours. My body, my soul and even my heart I can only give to you, because I... Because I love you Sam, love you like I've never loved anyone else." She told him with full conviction and sincerity.
Sam seeing this could only smile happily as he brought her into a kiss and with a mere thought he extinguished all the flames surrounding them and as he did, the door was kicked in and Dean entered yelling the name of his little brother, "Sammy!"
As he entered and saw them both fine he could only sigh in relief, "Damn it man, what took you so long. I honestly thought about jumping in that inferno fearing you were trapped." Dean told him annoyed, but also very much concerned.
Sam could only laugh at Dean's blatant attempt at sounding completely unconcerned and having complete belief in his baby's brother's plan as he promised but failed spectacularly.
Hearing him laugh Dean could only snort fondly and glare at him telling him, "Okay, I've held up my end of the deal, no way am I going to let you alone next time, you hear me!?"
"Loud and clear Dean," Sam answered with a full-blown grin, because this is a win, Ruby was now finally completely his.

A large distance away, hidden in the darkness the demon with its poisonous gaze observed their victory. "It seems our dear Boy King has been quite the busy. From what I could sense he actually rivals Alistair in might. I'll have to adjust my plans now with Ruby being at his side.
Damn Lilith and her pawn, I should've never listened to her and her stupid plans. There's a reason I've been Regent of Hell for so many years and not she in the absence of our father.
But no matter, this only confirms it without a shadow of a doubt, Sam is the one, he is our father's other half. At least there's some takeaway from this disaster. Who could have ever guessed, a demon falling in love with a human.
Well, I suppose, it is possible since it's Sam. I doubt it's the mushy, mushy love these humans spend all their days about. Most likely it is an ingrained sense of servitude and loyalty to our father directed towards his human half." Azazel mused to himself, though after a moment he decided it being pointless to continue contemplating.
"Very well then Sammy, it seems you've grown up quite splendidly, meaning I must take you more serious from now on...
Oh, if you knew how much of a mistake it was to reveal your hand this early for some black-eyed bottem feeding bitch," Azazel said to himself as he exploded in a malicious laugh, his bloodlust exploding out of him, taking the life of many living beings in the vicinity as he disappeared in the shadows, as if the darkness itself swallowed him...
