40% Reborn As Charmander / Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Power?

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Power?

The sun sets on the bloody beach, where Pokémon corpses litter the sand. Luke, no ordinary Charmander, has just devoured his first kill — a Rattata — and feels something stirring inside him. Unlike other newborns, Luke wasn't born orange. His scales are black, shimmering faintly in the moonlight. As he finishes tearing into the charred remains of the Rattata, he feels a change coursing through him

Luke (Charmander):

(feeling the change in his body) "What... what is this? Why do I feel... stronger?"

Luke looks down at his black claws, flexing them. His jaw feels tighter, more powerful, almost as if he's taken on some of the characteristics of the Rattata he just ate. His tail flame, once small and flickering, now burns a little brighter, casting a dark orange glow around him.

Luke:

(realizing) "It's not just food... it's power. I'm gaining strength from what I eat."

As the chaos of the island rages around him — primal roars of Bagon, Dratini, and other Dragon-types echo across the beach — Luke scans the area, his sharp eyes landing on two corpses nearby: the torn remains of a dead Gible and a shredded Ekans. Both creatures had fallen in the brutal battle for survival. Their limp bodies lie in the sand, half buried by the tide, and Luke feels a hunger not just for food, but for what they could offer him.

Without hesitation, he drags their lifeless bodies toward the treeline, away from the others. His tail flame flickers in the dim light as he works quickly, instinctively knowing that staying out in the open is dangerous. The scent of death is everywhere.

Luke (inner monologue):

(grunting as he pulls the Gible's body through the sand) "If I'm going to survive here, I need to be more than just strong. I need to be smarter. Faster. I need to take from these bodies... I need their strength."

He drags both bodies into the shade of a large palm tree, the shadows covering him as the waves crash gently nearby. Luke's primal instincts roar inside him, louder and more intense with each moment. He crouches down and tears into the Gible first. The taste of dragon flesh floods his senses, and he feels an immediate surge of power.

Luke (inner monologue):

(tearing into the Gible, his senses heightening) "It's working... I can feel it."

(as he swallows a chunk of meat, his muscles tighten, and his claws grow sharper) "Yes... more."

His tail flame flares brighter, and Luke's body begins to adapt. His jawline shifts slightly, his teeth sharpening as they take on the attributes of the Ekans he devours next. His movements become quicker, more agile. He feels the muscles in his body react to the dragon flesh, strengthening him from the inside out.

Luke steps back from the two corpses, breathing heavily, feeling the surge of strength. The once small, fragile newborn is gone, replaced by something far more dangerous. His black scales glisten in the moonlight, and his eyes gleam with newfound power.

Luke:

(looking out at the beach, his voice low but filled with power) "I'm not like the others. I'm more."

He roars — a deep, powerful sound that cuts through the night air. Across the beach, other primal Pokémon roar back, their voices echoing in the distance. The island is a battleground, and Luke has just declared his presence. But something inside him knows he's not finished. There's more to be gained, more strength to absorb, more traits to collect.

Luke surveys the corpses around him, his mind calculating what he needs next to grow stronger. He realizes now that this isn't just survival — it's evolution. He isn't like the other Charmanders, and with every Pokémon he consumes, he's becoming something far more dangerous.

Luke (inner monologue):

(determined) "I'll devour every piece of strength on this island if I have to. I'm not just surviving... I'm becoming unstoppable."
