"Are you not concerned that I might merely toy with you, and once I grow weary, abandon you in this village like discarded dirty trash?" Our op mc's sly grin hinted at a deception that could easily mislead Willow, had she been less perceptive.

"I've only known you for a brief span, Nero. Your actions thus far lead me to believe in their authenticity. However, I am not blind to the reality that men often cloak their true intentions with honeyed words and virtuous facades to fulfill their desires. The responsibility to prove otherwise lies solely with you. Should my trust be misplaced, I will accept the consequences. I am not a frigid woman that can resist being trapped by the allures of love," Willow responded with a steadfastness that belied her concern.
