Chapter 273: THE HELIOSTAT OF THE CONJURER COURT

THE HELIOSTAT OF THE CONJURER COURT

"The city cannot be saved, so master would not save it. We save our strength for what can be saved", Meera replied to the prince.

"That…", Prince Geoffraie wanted to say something but stopped before he commented, "Now I realize who the real monster is in this city".

Prince Geoffraie wanted to say that we were selfish for saving our strengths for our own people instead of saving everyone in the city.

However, he soon realized that we were not obliged to help them. It was everyone to themselves in times like this. Blame couldn't be assigned for those who do not act benevolently.

"As you can see governor, even master's guillotine could only slow the attack of the monster Flesh Meats. He couldn't defend Tarah city for very long even if he tried to stop these monsters breaching Tarah city's walls", Meera told the governor.

As she spoke, the head of one of the beheaded Flesh Meat regrew from the body parts of undead that poured into it. There were plenty of undead to support the monster because many people were killed in the city.

Before long, the Flesh Meats recovered from their beheading and rammed the walls of our city again.

"What are we going to do now, the Flesh Meats have recovered?" Prince Geoffraie asked worriedly.

"The monster meat is the least we should be worried about", Cassandra replied to him.

Suddenly, the force field that protected our city was exhausted and became ineffective. Our city was ripe for the enemy's attack.

Hundreds and thousands of demons and other militias of the demon army appeared to charge into our city.

"Kaleon city is lost", Prince Geoffraie said to us hopelessly.

When all hope was lost, a sliver of hope appeared.

"Dada…dada…dada"

-----

Suddenly, colossal ships fashioned in the likeness of demonic faces emerged from the shadows behind Kaleon city. Gatling cannons mounted on these ships unleashed a barrage upon the demons below.

"Arggghhhhhh!"

The demons cried out in agony as bullets rained down from the flying demonic faces, piercing through their armor and inflicting severe wounds on their vital organs.

To their astonishment, the demons found that the bullets from these ships effortlessly breached their defenses, often causing critical injuries before they could even approach Kaleon city.

The Demonlords took to the skies, confronting these formidable demon-faced vessels.

With wings outstretched, they stood defiantly against the airships, channeling infernal magic within their bodies before unleashing blasts of hellfire upon the ships.

Much to the demons' dismay, their infernal beams failed to penetrate the ships. The vessels were constructed from materials resistant to the flames of hell, leaving the demons shocked and confounded.

------

"What are these ships? How did the Demonlords' flame do nothing to them?" Prince Geoffraie asked.

"The tide of battle has turned back in our favor", Meera replied to him without explaining.

Suddenly, the powerful Demonlords who could hold themselves against apostles and even Higher Apostles, fell from the sky in large numbers as they faced the Demon face ships, our Hell Tanks.

The demon army were surprised and shocked by the appearance of the Hell Tanks that so efficiently killed their Demonlords.

"It is still too early to be confident, the Flesh monsters are charging into the city together with the rest of the demon army", Prince Geoffraie told them.

Suddenly, a loud noise was heard from the Conjurer Court of Drachia. The roof of the main building of the Conjurer's Court opened as a large piece of equipment rose from the building that rose to the sky.

"What is that thing?" Meera asked but not many recognized it.

"Unbelievable, that is the Heliostat. The strongest weapon of the conjurer court is activated again after centuries of peace", Prince Geoffraie replied to her.

"What is a Heliostat?" Cassandra asked.

------

The Heliostat stood tall, visible from across Tarah city, a grand tower adorned with mirrors arranged in the likeness of an enormous blossoming metal petal flower.

As it absorbed magical energy from the surroundings, the device emitted a faint hum, growing louder as power surged through its mechanisms. Then, with a piercing whir, a concentrated beam shot forth from the mirrors, converging upon a hovering crystal at its apex.

This enchanted crystal absorbed the potent energy, filling itself with the gathered magic reflected from the mirrors. And when it reached its capacity, it unleashed the stored power in a blinding eruption.

The radiant blast surged forth from the Heliostat, aimed directly at the advancing demon horde in the city.

Thus was the might of the "Heliostat of the Conjurer's Court" revealed.

------

[Some time before this]

"This is an impossible battle, the Flesh Meat's head grows back every time we break it", Chash complained to me.

"This is a waste of time", Ratatouille commented about our efforts.

"We must delay the demon army's advance into Kaleon city for as long as possible", I reminded them.

"The Flesh Meats we can deal with but what about the demons behind them?" Chash asked me worriedly.

Suddenly, the force field that protected our city was finally exhausted by the relentless assault of the Flesh Meats and demonic fire bombardments.

"This is the end", Ratatouille commented.

"Damnit, they should be here by now", I complained to them.

Out of a sudden, large ships built in the shape and design of a demonic face with large horns over their heads appeared over Kaleon city.

"They are finally here", I replied to them as my chasing blood guillotine found another victim to crunch and mince its head.

Chash smashed another Flesh Meat with his Sword of Dominon, disabling it for a while.

"Our Hell Tanks are not enough to defeat the demon army, they are too many of them", Ratatouille complained to us.

From a distance, images of crimson red appeared.

Powerful beings born from the blood of corruption emerged, scouring the city for spilled blood to nourish their magic. The Bloodfiends created by the Demon Queen appeared again.

"Hell, how many of these Bloodfiends can the bitch summon?" Chash complained to us.
