GETTING "0" IS A TALENT BY ITSELF
The first test of the audition was simple as all we needed to do was place our hands on a Conjuration Sphere.
This was a strange test that I've never tried before because the test, checks for the number of stars in the templar sky of the conjurer rather than their magic.
There is a magic inside the Sphere that would activate the participant's templar skies to seek suitable stars in their templar skies and tabulate them. The more stars that the Conjuration Sphere could find would give a higher ranking.
"Ivelle"
Ivelle placed his hands on the Sphere as magic flowed from his templar skies into the Sphere.
As stars in his templar skies were linked by the Sphere, stars were lighted and projected up above the sphere to record the number of stars the Sphere could link. The more stars the better.
"1..20...35..54...69…"
The onlookers who came to witness the audition counted the numbers as more and more stars appeared above the magic Sphere.
Until the Sphere stopped lighting new stars.
"Ivelle, 260 stars", the test manager announced to the public.
"See that's the average result of the participants I wonder how many stars the Earth tier boy can link up to", one of the audiences commented.
"260 is more than the total conjuration stars of an Earth Tier combined", another added.
"See how the boy embarrasses himself, hahaha", they talked and laughed at my Earth tier magic.
"I pity his father if he's here to watch it", another scum said out loud.
The bad polls and fake news kept coming although it wasn't even my test yet.
Suddenly I was compared to the best among the participants for no reason at all. One of the students walked out with an aura of confidence. He had the grace of a prince and was determined to win the test.
Almost the entire projected sky was illuminated by the stars that were projected from this boy's Sphere test.
"Kolgane, 530 stars", the test manager announced to the public.
"Wow that's the genius we need", someone from the audience said out loud.
"That is what we call talent, not that Earth tier backdoor scum", someone said out loud.
"He's almost as powerful as a Legendary Apostle", another added to the comments.
"Kolgane would you marry me?", a girl proposed to the guy.
"The next one up is the Earth tier, hahaha", finally someone made a joke, and everyone laughed.
This Kolgane boy was exactly what I wasn't. He was a genius to the crowd while I was the discardable junk.
"Yup the next one up is me", I said to the crowd, proud that so much attention was given to a rubbish talent like me.
"Shameless", the crowd shouted to me and some even prepared rotten fruits to launch at me at any time.
Although this was just a simple test the audience were giving me enormous stress just by their fierce and hateful gaze.
"What the hell did I do to you guys huh? I don't even know you", I told them in my mind.
But I conquered their prejudice against me with confidence because there was one person in the audience who rooted for me, Orol.
And, because I was much stronger than these boys. They just don't know about it, yet.
I placed my hands on the Conjuration Sphere and the magic started to link my templar skies.
There was a particular pattern that the Sphere sought but my templar sky was not there to stop it because it continued to link up to my magic.
However, there was something wrong with the machine.
"0 star"
The sphere failed to light up even a single star even though the Sphere continued to link up my templar skies.
"I must be in shyte luck. The damn thing is broken", I told myself.
"Hey, told you he's a loser. 0 star", someone shouted at my incompetence.
"Yeah, why did he come here in the first place? To be embarrassed", another added to the insults.
"Rubbish" "Pariah" "Worst templar in the world"
The test manager walked towards me to stop the test.
"This is not correct. He can't have no stars at all. He's an Earth tier", the test manager said out loud.
It was clear I had no talent because even the Sphere couldn't detect a single useful star in me.
"Please give my son a little more time, getting a "0" is talent in itself", Orol pleaded with the test manager who ignored him.
But when he was about to call off the test something happened.
"1 star…"
The judge quickly stopped his actions to wait for the machine to finish tabulating. Once the star was being counted it was rude to call off the test even if the participant was a loser.
"10 stars…"
"Hey, the stars are appearing", some shouted out in anticipation.
"What the heck, did he cheat? Why is the counter moving?" another added to the comments.
"No way this is a fix", the insults on me added up.
"It must be the judge who walked to him. He must have rigged the machine to make a fake run", a clever guy suggested the real reason for the appearance of my magical templar stars on the counter.
"Oriese, good job", Orol shouted out his encouragement to me as he jumped and clapped.
"150 stars"
"Impossible. Impossible", the audience shouted and screamed in anger.
"There's something wrong with the machine", another added voicing the consensus of the others.
"Stop the test. I can't stand this anymore", someone suggested to the judges.
"360 stars"
----
By this time even the Conjurers who came to preside over the test stood up to look at the Sphere.
"How did an Earth Tier templar link up 360 stars?" the Conjurers discussed among themselves.
"There are only two possible reasons, one is problem with the machine, the other is his affinity", Conjurer Iras spoke to his colleagues who all nodded in agreement with him.
"But even an Angel affinity at Earth tier couldn't achieve so many stars", Conjurer Visior said to them, and they nodded as well.
