Gu Zhiqing was the one who realized that Zuo Xiangning had disappeared and came out looking for her.

He hadn't expected to see Gu Zhicheng come down the mountain side by side with Zuo Xiangning.

Gu Zhicheng was beaming, while Zuo Xiangning looked shyly demure. The sight of their loving glances pierced him as if a needle had jabbed at the corner of his eye, causing him a sharp pain.

Zuo Xiangning turned her head and looked coldly towards Gu Zhiqing at the foot of the mountain, "Official Gu, what do you think I and the Second Young Master were doing?"

"Eldest brother, I just ran into Fourth Miss Zuo on the back mountain and was about to head to the front hall," Gu Zhicheng purposefully spoke in vague terms.

Zuo Xiangning sneered inwardly, "Since when did Jingyin Temple's back mountain belong to the Gu Family, such that anyone walking around here has to be connected to your family?"
