"Tony? Tony, are you there? Hello?" Pepper called Tony but Just before he could answer Obadiah stunned him with his own tech.
"Breathe. Easy, easy. You remember this one, right? It's a shame the government didn't approve it. There's so many applications for causing short-term paralysis. Tony. When I ordered the hit on you, I worried that I was killing the golden goose. But, you see, it was just fate that you survived that." Obadiah said as he pulls out the arc reactor from Starks chest. "You had one last golden egg to give. Do you really think that just because you have an idea, it belongs to you? Your father, he helped give us the atomic bomb. Now, what kind of world would it be today if he was as selfish as you? Oh, it's beautiful. Tony, this is your Ninth Symphony. What a masterpiece. Look at that. This is your legacy. A new generation of weapons with this at its heart. Weapons that will help steer the world back on course, put the balance of power in our hands. The right hands. I wish you could've seen my prototype. It's not as... Well, not as conservative as yours. Too bad you had to involve Pepper in this. I would have preferred that she lived."
Pepper got worried when Tony didn't picked the phone so she called Rhodes and asked him to look for Tony as his life was in danger due to Obadiah. She hurriedly explained everything Obadiah has done until now to Rhodes so that he could understand how dangerous he is.
"What do you mean, he paid to have Tony killed? Pepper, slow down. Why would Obadiah... Okay, where's Tony now?" James said on the Phone deciding to wait for the explanation later.
"I don't know. He's not answering his phone. Please go over there and make sure everything's okay. Thank you, Rhodey. I know a shortcut." Pepper stated and then told Rhodey about the shortcut.
At the Stark Mansion Tony crawls to his lab but he couldn't get to where his spare Arc reactors were kept so Dummy hands Stark Pepper's gift which was the first arc Reactor he has on his chest in a glass case. "Good boy." Tony said as he brakes the glass case and wears the arc reactor on his chest.
"Tony? Tony? Tony? Tony? Tony! Tony! You okay?" Rhodes enters the mansion while shouting his name and comes straight to the lab as he knows this is the place where Tony usually is and sees him sitting on the ground.
"Where's Pepper?" asks Tony as he slowly stands up
"She's fine. She's with five agents. They're about to arrest Obadiah." Rhodes said
"That's not going to be enough." Tony said as he looks at his armours.
At the big rc reactor, Pepper brings Coulson and his Agents to section 16.
"Section 16. Section 16. There it is. My key's not working. It's not opening the door. Oh, wow! What's that? It's, like, a little device. It's, like, a thing that's going to pick the lock?" Pepper stated
" You might want to take a few steps back." Coulson stated to which Pepper complied then one of the agents placed a small bomb that blows the lock away opening the door and allowing them to enter section 16.
Tony wears Mark 4 that has all the guns and whistles impressing James though he doesn't forget to change his arc reactor with one of his spares that he keeps safe in a hidden compartment.
"That's the coolest thing I've ever seen."Rhodes said
"Not bad, huh? Let's do it." Tony said
"You need me to do anything else?" James asked
"Keep the skies clear." Tony said as he takes off.
For a second Rhodes eyes roams around Mark 0 but he just said "Next time, baby." after which he took off as well.
Under the big Arc Reactor, Section 16
"Looks like you were right. He was building a suit." Coulson said as he looks at the Armour
"I thought it'd be bigger." Pepper stated thinking that the armour wasn't big.
"How does it look like" Tony asked JARVIS
"The suit's at 100% power, sir. That chest piece is working perfectly. It can keep the suit working for the next few hours" JARVIS replied
"Keep me posted." Tony said than called Pepper through the suit. "Pepper!"
"Tony! Tony, are you okay?" asked Pepper
"I'm fine. How are..." Tony said but before he could ask about her she interrupted him.
"Obadiah, he's gone insane!" Pepper said
" I know. Listen, you'd better get out of there." Tony said
" He built a suit." Pepper stated
"Get out of there right now!" Tony shouted seeing as Pepper wasn't listening to him and just as he said that the Iron Monger came to life and started to thrash around.
Pepper shouted seeing it started to run out while the agents started to shoot at the giant armour. Obadiah that was controlling the armour didn't care for them and swiped his arm throwing them aside to get to Pepper.
Just as Pepper got out of Section 16 and then the room holding the big Arc reactor, Obadiah broke through the underground and tried to grab onto her.
"Where do you think you're going? Your services are no longer required." Obadiah said as he tried to catch Pepper.
"Stane!" Tony shouted as he slammed onto the Iron Monger throwing it aside towards the road.
Though the giant armour was so sturdy that even after getting thrown like that nothing happened to Obadiah.
"I love this suit!" Obadiah said as he looked at the car coming towards him and grabbed it while picking it up above his head.
"Put them down!" Tony shouted
"Collateral damage, Tony." Obadiah said
Just as Tony was going to use his chest ray to attack him, a black figure appeared behind Obadiah kicking his armour in the back and throwing him forward while catching the car Obadiah had above his head and gently laying it in the road after which it drive away in a hurry but waiting even for a second.
Tony knew who this figure was as he had been keeping tabs on some people after what happened to him in Japan last year and he was one of such feagure's that Stark had been watching.
"You are Reaper!" Tony said
"And you are an Idiot, Stark" came Reaper's response.
"What did you say?"
