Chapter 136: The damage is done

When Eveline didn't say anything, Gabriel looked up and saw her all disheartened. Her expression said it all: she was completely shocked. But he wanted to keep his reasoning simple and accessible, hoping she would get it the right way. However was wrong. 

"I know treating you like that wasn't an appropriate behavior, but that was the only thing that came into my mind because I would never want you to ignore your dream, your studies, your career behind me" he added, his eyes imploring.

Eveline's thoughts were disorganized. She wasn't able to think clearly. She had always assumed that Gabriel despised her, which is why he never paid heed to her attempts, but his actions proved her wrong.
