"I know it was my responsibility to let you know about this agreement between the elders, but trust me, we never saw any flaws in your relationship to object to it. You and Gabriel looked more than perfect in our eyes and didn't you always tell me that you want to marry a prince who is just like Gabriel?"
Eveline shot her head back, giving Jonathan a perplexed look.
"It was back when I was young, Dad. I simply got influenced by those fairytales, which happened to ruin my mindset to even utter those words. I would rather be alone than marry anyone in this lifetime," she said, leaving Jonathan in silence.
"Did something happen between you two, which is why you are objecting to the alliance?" he asked, making a mental note of the words she spoke.
