Chapter 10: Boss against Boss
I was repeatedly slammed against the floor, with each blow I could hear the floor cracking, the claw that held my leg released me and I was thrown, I hit my back against a wall, I heard a metallic sound when I collided, whether it was me or the wall, I couldn't tell, luckily I didn't feel any pain, now that the attack was over I reoriented myself and scanned the area around me.
I was inside the ship, in a large metallic room with boxes and other objects spread around, metallic and heavy steps made the floor shake slightly, it was Gol D. Loota approaching.
The Warboss wore a Mega-Armor, the armor was painted black and red, on the chest of the armor was adorned a golden skull with rubies in the eyes, attached to the back of the armor was a pole with the pirate flag of Gol D. Loota flowing, Loota also wore his captain's hat.
On his right arm was a black Power Klaw with five fingers, a large golden skull with rubies for eyes adorned the top of the Power Klaw.
In his left hand, Loota carried a Twin Linked Shoota.
"I'll turn ya into scrap metal tin man." Loota said as he carefully held a pipe with his Power Klaw and lit it with a shot from his gun.
"CRAAA! I'll turn ya into scrap metal!" The parrot squig on the armor's shoulder repeated as Loota smoked his pipe.
"HÁ! Keep dreaming. I admit you took me by surprise, but maybe it's for the best, this back and forth between our forces leads nowhere. So why don't we end it here and now? Where there is no one to interrupt us." I said as I picked me up.
That's it! Be confident, don't show that you're freaked out at the thought of your first fight being against a Warboss wearing Mega-Armor.
Loota took the pipe out of his mouth and blew out a cloud of smoke. "Spoke like a real boss. We'll settle dis 'da orkish way, boss against boss!"
"CRAAA! Boss against boss!" The squig repeated.
Loota threw his pipe towards me, seeing him approaching, I swung my Staff of Light and hit it with the ornament covered in lightning.
BOOM!
What I didn't expect was the pipe exploding in my face. Gunpowder?!? Was he smoking gunpowder?!? I was pushed back slightly by the explosion, as I tried to clear the smoke, the ground shook with the sound of heavy metallic footsteps.
When the smoke cleared, I had a few seconds to get out of the way of Loota's punch, his Power Klaw hit where I was and opened a hole in the wall, tearing metal and making the room shake.
Loota ripped his Power Klaw from the wall, raising a cloud of dust. I saw something shining in the middle of this cloud.

A hail of bullets came towards me, I started to run across the room, the bullets almost hitting me and opening holes in the wall, the gun fire and the bullets hitting the wall created a deafening cacophony that only got worse when echoing through the walls, thank goodness that I had no ears.
"Stop runn'n an' fight!" Loota screamed.
"Then how about you stop shooting?!?" I ran towards a large metal box and used it as cover, the bullets ricocheted against the box.
Taking advantage of the fact that the bullets couldn't get through for the time being, I powered my staff and swung it like a baseball bat towards the box, the metal creaked and sank, a little bit of ice formed where it hit and the box crossed the room towards Loota.
The Warboss was pinned against the wall, I ran towards Loota and teleported a Hyperphasic Sword in my left hand, when I approached I took a big jump with the blade pointed downwards, my plan was to sink the sword into Loota's brain and end it soon. I felt a mixture of joy and sadness, joy at engaging the enemy leader, sadness that the fight was over so quickly.
But Loota thought the opposite, with a cry of effort he lifted the metallic box and threw it at me, I changed the position of the sword in my hand and used it to cut the box, the sword vibrated between dimensions, forcibly separating the atoms of the metal, squeaks and sparks arose as it cut the box and the two halves flew to the side, glowing red and steaming.
I ended up landing in a crouch in front of Loota, just in time to see the Warboss's armored foot trying to smash me to the ground, I rolled out of the way and swung my sword at the Warboss's thigh, the blade slicing through the armor like butter, the metal only served to prevent the blow from going deeper, blood seeped from the hot, glistening gash left in the armor.
Loota pointed his gun at me, I stood up quickly as I slammed my staff into Loota's hand, ice covered both hand and gun, the blow made Loota raise his arm, the ice preventing him from pulling the trigger, taking the chance, I slashed Loota across the chest with my sword, the blow leaving a hot, bloody slash.
But the Warboss withstood the blow and punched me with his Power Klaw, I had time to put my staff in front of me, using it as a shield, the metal in my arms creaked as my feet slid across the room, making lines on the metallic floor.
"HAHAHA! Well done, tin man! Give me a gud fight!" Loota screamed as he pointed his gun at me, with a face of effort, Loota broke the ice that covered his hand and pulled the trigger of the gun.

I didn't have time to dodge, I was hit by bullets while still recovering from the previous blow, I heard the metallic sound of the bullets colliding against my body, I used my right arm to protect my face and pointed my gauntlet at Loota, a wave of green fire covered the Warboss.
"AAAHHH!" I heard the Warboss screaming in pain as the flames consumed him.
"WWWAAAGGGHHH!" Then something moved in the middle of the fire, approaching me, I saw Loota using both arms to protect his face as he ran towards me, his huge form distorting the fire, making it approach me.
Loota's body collided with mine, I was pushed with such strength that I ended up going through several walls, passing through a corridor, a storage room, an armory, until the strength of the blow dissipated and I stopped with my back against a wall , the impact cracking and sinking the metal.
Static flickered across my vision as messages appeared.

STARTING NECRODERMIS REPAIR
Amidst the static, I saw the dents, cuts and bullet marks on my body being repaired almost instantly, a few crooked fingers fell back into place, I shook my head, trying to recover, the static disappeared and I saw Loota running towards me again.
It won't work a second time.
I hit the butt of my staff on the floor, the floor was covered in a layer of ice, as soon as Loota stepped on the ice his eyes widened when he saw that he couldn't keep his balance, I got out of the way and Loota ended up hitting the wall with his back, again I used my staff like a baseball bat, with a burst of lightning I slammed the staff into Loota's chest, destroying the skull ornament and sending him through the wall.
This time we stopped on a walkway to a cafeteria. Loota fell off this walkway, while he got up, I teleported my staff away and used a Hyperphasic Sword in each hand. I jumped off the walkway with the intention of landing on Loota's back.
"CRAAA! Behind you!" The squig screamed.
Loota immediately turned around and grabbed me with his Power Klaw. I noticed blood dripping from his mouth. My blow must have caused internal damage.
"Parrot son of a…" My speech was cut off by Loota trying to crush me with his Power Klaw, the metal in my body creaked as the pistons of Loota's claw applied absurd pressure.
Come on! What else do I have with me at the moment? I know! I took control of the small metallic creatures that lived in my body, like a horror movie, a cloud of Mindshackle scarabs came out of my mouth and covered Loota's face, these scarabs were not made to fight, but I ordered them to attack Loota's eyes.
That made Loota let go of me. I ordered some scarabs to enter through Loota's ear and control his mind. Loota's eyes blinked between natural red and bright green.
"Wot did ya do ta me tin man?!?" Loota demanded, as he resisted the scarabs' control, I'm not surprised, Loota is too agitated for the scarabs to take full control, his adrenaline must be at full blast from the fight.
"No big deal, just called my little friends to our party, since you have one on your shoulder. I hope you don't mind." I sent a command to the scarabs in Loota's head.
Loota raised his Power Klaw with difficulty, he tried to use his other arm to stop him, I increased the power of the scarabs, the green glow in Loota's eyes increased, unable to hold back, Loota raised his armored arm and slammed it into his shoulder , squishing his squig like a mosquito.
Blood splattered on Loota's face and trickled between the Power Klaw's fingers, Loota raised his claw in front of his face and saw a red paste and feathers, that was all that was left of his squig.
"DO YA KNOW HOW RARE DIS SQUIG WAS?!?" Loota screamed in fury, the green glow in his eyes disappearing, a sign that the scarabs no longer had control over him.
I ordered the scarabs to return to my body.
"I don't know and I don't care! Do you happen to know how many resources I've wasted dealing with you?!? That, yes, is something important!" I grabbed a table from the cafeteria, it was a metal table like you would see in a movie, my fingers sank into the metal, the screws that held the table to the floor came loose, I lifted the table with one hand and broke it in two on Loota's head.
Loota took a few steps back, disoriented, I took advantage and threw the remaining part of the table towards him, Loota was hit in the chest, I ran towards him with a sword in each hand, but before I could make my attack, the whole ship shook and swayed, suddenly the ship tilted to the right, anything that wasn't attached slid across the floor, including Loota and me.
I hit my back against a wall.
"WWWAAAGGGHHH!" Looking up I saw Loota falling with his foot aiming at my head, I simply rolled to the side and Loota went through the wall.
"WWWAAAGGGHHH…" Loota's scream got lower as he broke through the wall.
Looking through the hole made by the ork, I saw that he plunged his Power Klaw into the ship's deck so as not to fall into the ocean.
Loota looked up and saw me staring at him through the hole, he pointed his gun at me and fired another volley of bullets.
I backed into the hole with the bullets whizzing past me and lay down with my back against the wall, hands together and thumbs wagging, it gives me some time to think. Mega-Armors are extremely heavy, it's the equivalent of a Space Marine Terminator Armor, which means Loota shouldn't be able to run or move quickly, but he did anyway.
It means that Loota's armor has a specific piece called Mega-Boosta, which increases the power of the suit, allowing the user to move faster. If I manage to destroy this piece, Loota will have to support the weight of the armor itself.
I looked through the hole again, analyzing Loota's armor in search of the Mega-Boosta, I saw something that maybe is what I'm looking for, on Loota's back, below the mast, there was a metallic box, a power unit, similar to the ones used in the armor of Space Marines.
Another hail of bullets came towards me, I moved out of the way and lay down on the wall again, I need to destroy that thing, I just hope my plan works, I jumped out of the hole, plunged a sword into the deck to slow my fall, mutually Loota fired in me, some bullets hit my body, but they didn't stop me from continuing.
When I got close enough, I drew the sword from the ship, as I approached falling towards Loota, I plunged a sword into each of his shoulders.
"AAAAHHH! GET OFF ME, TIN MAN!" Loota screamed as he struggled, unable to let go of the ship or we would both fall into the ocean, which is not a problem for me, as I don't need air, but Loota on the contrary...
"Sorry, but I need you to stay still for a minute, I'd like to make some adjustments to your armor." I replied while taking a sword from Loota's right shoulder and pointing it at the Mega-Boosta, before I could strike, Loota let out a whistle, I didn't understand why, so Loota laughed.

A huge creature jumped out of the water, it had a white body covered in spikes, large red and glowing eyes, a large open mouth with rows of gigantic teeth that protruded forward. It was a shark squig.
I sent my sword in my right hand away and teleported my staff to my hand, planning to fry this fish with a hail of lightning, and I succeeded for a moment, lightning hit the squig's face as it leapt out of the water, burning the left side of his face, but even so the squig's gigantic mouth closed around me and its teeth trapped me.
I was taken underwater, my systems screaming for me to get out of the current situation, meanwhile the squig opened and closed its mouth, trying to chew me up, halfway through, the squig made sure to swim next to the rocks, my head colliding against the bottom of the sea again and again I saw pieces of the golden crown on my head being torn off and carried away by the current.
I used my Mindshackle scarabs, the little machines crawled through the squig's gills, reaching into its brain and taking control of its simple mind, the squig's eyes changed to a green color and it released me, I rolled across the rocky sea floor to a stop, I got up and ordered the squig to turn around, when I saw him approaching, I jumped and grabbed the fin on his back, I felt like Aquaman. Or would it be Aquanecron now?
It doesn't matter! This is no time for jokes! I ordered the squig to circle around Loota's ship, picking up speed, and when the squig was fast enough, I ordered it to leap out of the water towards the ship.
We landed in the middle of the ship's deck where orks and necrons were fighting, the shark squig thrashed now that it was out of the water, I ordered the scarabs to fry its brain, the squig convulsed as blood trickled from its gills, mouth and nose.
Now where was Loota? Looking around, I realized what made the ship tilt, one of the orks ships collided with the left side of Loota's ship, probably due to a wave.
"WWWAAAGGGHHH!"
I heard a war cry behind me, I turned quickly, swinging my staff towards the noise, the staff hit the side of an ork's head like a mace, exploding its head in a shower of blood and brains, and covering it in ice.
This time a group of orks approached, carrying firearms and melee weapons, it pissed me off.
"You annoying pests! I have no business with you! Where is Loota?" I don't know where those words came from, most likely the Necron side talking.
The orks' response was to shoot me, the caliber of their guns not even close to Loota's, so most of the bullets bounced off my body.
"So be it." I swung my staff and broke an ork's arm, covering it in ice, then grabbed the arm and crushed it.
"AAAHHH!" The ork screamed.
"Silence!" I pointed my gauntlet at his head and incinerated it along with a group of orks approaching.
I swung my staff carelessly, I was using it like a piece of metal. I hit an ork in the chin, sending his head flying off his body, I hit another ork in the chest, I could hear his ribs being crushed, the ork went down on his hands and knees, I lifted my foot and crushed his head.
I hit another ork on the top of its head, its eyes popped out, I grabbed the remains of its frozen head and squeezed, its head fell apart in a shower of white crystals, I hit an ork in the chest making it fly and hit a group of orks, then I pointed my gauntlet of fire at them, turning them to ash.
Some bullets ricocheted off the side of my face, looking at the source of the bullets, I saw a group of orks on top of a walkway connected to a cabin, I launched a wave of lightning in their direction, melting the metal of the platform, I watched the flesh of the orks being burned to the bone, I feel fortunate to be unable to smell.
It's not over yet, ork after ork, they kept coming, I kept swinging my staff, left, right, left, right, I broke bones, ripped off heads, turned limbs to ice and crushed them, but the orks kept coming.
"ENOUGH!" I pointed my gauntlet and released a wave of fire, then I turned my body in a circle, I burned everything I saw ahead, amidst bullets and screams, I reduced the orks around me to nothing, when I finished, I found myself on the deck of the ship covered in green flames, molten metal, and dead orks.
If I still had lungs, I would be breathing heavily.
"TIN MAN!" A guttural voice called out.
Something walked among the flames on the deck, a large figure approached, it was Gol D. Loota.
"I see yer got rid uv ma little fish." Loota said as he watched what was left of the shark squig, the creature's body was partially burned, I don't remember burning it.
"What can I say? I hope you like fried fish." I shrugged.
"When I'z done wit' ya, I'z gunna invade 'dat place ya kall home, assemble a new fleet, wipe out 'da wimpy 'umiez on dis planet, an' den go ta space! I will start ma WWWAAAGGGHHH, ma war band will go from planet ta planet where we will get wun gud fight afta annuver!" Loota yelled as he approached me.
"Good luck with that, because your friends won't come to your aid and you won't get any new ships." I replied as energy flowed through my staff.
"What da ya mean?"
"Do you really think I stood by while you attacked my tomb? The little island you call home no longer exists, no planes, ships or orks will come to your rescue, you are alone Loota, everything you have is here around you. Either you beat me and start from scratch or you die. Simple isn't it?
Loota's eyes turned redder than usual, he gritted his teeth and growled as he stomped the ground, sending tremors through the deck.
"AAAAHHHH!" Loota let out a scream of fury as he charged towards me.
"HAHAHA! THAT'S IT! COME AT ME!" The Necron side screamed louder, I pointed my staff at Loota and fired lightning, Loota shielded his face as the bolts scorched and melted part of his armor.
When he got close, Loota tried to smash me to the ground with his Power Klaw, I jumped back, Loota's claw opened a hole in the deck, Loota pointed his gun at me, I kicked his gun throwing it up, out of Loota's hand.
Loota plucked his claw from the deck and swung it towards my head, I dropped to one knee and pointed my gauntlet at Loota's chest.
"AAAHHH!" Loota screamed as he was burned, but in the midst of my attack, Loota grabbed my left arm, threw me over his head and threw me to the ground. While holding my arm Loota raised his foot to step on my head, simultaneously I saw something falling from the sky.
I slammed my staff into the ground, creating ice and freezing Loota's legs in place, then pointed my staff at his face and let out a bolt of lightning, burning part of his face.
Loota screamed in pain as he released me. I got up quickly and grabbed the thing that was falling. When Loota took his hand away from his burned face, he was facing the barrel of his own gun, I pulled the trigger.

Nothing happened. Ork technology, of course! Why did I think this would work in my hands? So I chose the second option, and threw Loota's gun overboard.
"I will… AAHHH!" I didn't let Loota finish, I hit my staff on the side of his head, taking his hat off, and letting him go of the ice. When he got up, Loota had the left side of his face burned and blood streaming from the top of his head.
"Yer destroyed ma island, kild ma squigs an' trew away ma gun! I won't jus kill yer, i'll dismantle yer an' use yer parts ta repair ma armor, den I'll put yer head on da front uv ma ship, ta showz da otha tin men wot I'll do to them!"
Loota ran towards me, and slammed his Power Klaw against the ground, raising a cloud of dust. I saw Loota's face emerging from the cloud of dust, I swung my staff towards his head, then my body shook and alarms appeared in my vision.
ALERT!
ALERT!
CRITICAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY UNKNOWN OBJECT ON THE LEFT SIDE.
Left side? Looking down I saw that Loota's Power Klaw was different, the five fingers of the claw retracted and a hook came out of an opening, which was stuck in the lower left region of my rib cage. I felt Loota lifting me in the air.
I pointed my gauntlet at his head, Loota grabbed my left arm and deflected the gauntlet away from his head, the jet of fire hitting nothing.
"HAHAHA! I beat ya Tin Man!"
"HAHAHA!" I laughed too.
"Wot's so funny tin man? Yer lost!"
"HAHAHA! How could I lose when I'm still here talking to you?"
I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm not scared, I'm happy, my "heart" is racing, my "blood" is running through my veins, I feel a joy coming from somewhere within my systems. Was it the Overlord? Or some remnant of his personality left in this body's systems?
It doesn't matter! I just want this to continue!
I raised my staff and released a blast of lightning, Loota and I were thrown away, I got up quickly and hit Loota in the chest with my staff pushing him back, I tried to hit Loota again, but he grabbed my staff with both hands, I did the same, we were disputing strength, I energized my staff and electrocuted Loota.
"AAAHHH" Loota screamed as the lightning flowed through his body and armor, keeping it up, I applied more strength, pushing Loota back.
What started out as one step at a time turned into a sprint, with each step my feet dug a hole in the ground.
"What are yer doing?" Loota demanded.
"Isn't that what you wanted, Loota? A boss against boss fight? I'm giving you what you want!" We approached the edge of the ship, I sent a command to one of my units, we fell off the ship, we would have fallen into the sea if not for the Ghost Ark waiting for us.
Loota fell backwards into the ark, with me on top of him, electrocuting him with my staff. I sent a command for the ark to rise, we rose and rose while I pinned Loota against the ground, we rose until we approached the storm clouds.
I snatched my staff from Loota's hands and raised it above my head to crush Loota's head, amazingly Loota's beard came out of his chin and clung to my face. That thing was a squig too!
I got up and ripped the thing off my face and threw it out of the ark, unfortunately that gave Loota time to get up.
"I don't know wot yer're tink'n tin man! But dere's nowhere ta run now!" Loota screamed, rain pouring down on us and lightning shooting around us.
"You are exactly where I want Loota!" I replied as I sent my staff away.
Loota let out a scream of rage and raised his klaw, at that moment the force of nature kicked in and Loota had the same experience I had, the pole stuck in the back of his armor helped.
Lightning split the sky and struck Loota.
"AAAHHH!" Loota screamed as he thrashed, wires and pieces of metal bouncing out of his armor.
When the lightning stopped, Loota dropped to one knee, smoke billowing from his body and armor. I walked over to Loota and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"I will… I will…"
I didn't allow Loota to finish, I pulled my head back and head-butted him, blood gushed from his nose, then I punched him in the face, knocking out some teeth.
"You know, despite the fear I felt, that was fun. It's a shame it has to end like this." I turned away from Loota and teleported a sword in each hand.
"It will end for yer tin man!" Loota got up while trying to hit me with his Power Klaw, but his movements were too slow, now Loota had to support his armor.
I took a step back, then slashed him in the chest. Loota tried to hit me with the back of his claw, but I dodged to the right and stuck my sword in his left side. I ripped the sword tearing part of his side, Loota grabbed his injury.
I raised both swords and descended towards Loota, he placed his Power Klaw in front of himself, the swords fought against the quality metal of the claw, sparks in contrast to the golden skull, gleamed amidst the rain.
I forced the swords down, leaving two boiling cuts on the Power Klaw, it broke Loota's balance, I kicked him in the chest, pushing him back and thrusted the two swords deep into his chest, Loota let out a big gasp, I pushed him through the ghost ark towards the ledge.
"It… It doesn't end like dat tin man." Loota said weakly.
"You're right, it doesn't end like that, when I'm done with you I'll make sure to take control of this planet, then I'll go to space where my fleet will go from planet to planet, increasing my empire and getting a good fight in the process, I can only thank you Loota, because you helped me to take the doubts out of my mind."
I ripped the right blade from his chest and cut his neck, blood spurted on my face, Loota looked at me in horror as he fell out of the ark, I sent my left sword away and held him by his Power Klaw preventing him from falling.
"But before you go, Loota, I would like a souvenir to remind me of you, the first challenge I had to face in my new life."
I raised my left sword and slashed Loota in the shoulder, separating the Power Klaw from his body, so Loota fell.
On Loota's ship, the Necron and ork forces fought across the deck, among those Necron were Rahkikh and Thaszan, around the two were piles and piles of sliced orks.
"Did you manage to find our Lord?" Rahkikh asked.
"Not yet, the green skins are still in the way." Thaszan replied.
"We need to find him, what if our lord needs help?" Rahkikh continued.
The conversation between the two was interrupted when something hit the deck of the ship, denting the metal and creating a cloud of dust, the dust settled revealing Gol D. Loota, dead, with his throat cut and his right arm missing.
A shadow hovered above the deck, a Ghost Ark approached the ship's deck, and stopped a few meters from the ground, the sound of footsteps was heard above the ark.
The source of the footsteps revealed to be the extremely damaged Overlord, pieces of his armor and ornaments were ripped off, cuts, bite marks and bullet holes covered his body, he stopped at the edge of the ark and imitating a certain commissar, raised Loota's Power Klaw and screamed.
"WHAT ELSE DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER ME?!?"
The orks widened their eyes, in disbelief that their warboss was dead, then panicked, running and fighting across the ship in disarray.
"My lord!" Rahkikh and Thaszan said as they dropped to one knee and placed a fist to the heart.
"Rahkikh, Thaszan, good to see you again." The Overlord replied.
"My Lord, we are sorry for…" Rahkikh tried to speak, but the Overlord held up his hand, cutting him off.
"Don't worry about it, there was no way for you to know what the Warboss' plan was, besides, I had fun. Then how about we finish this battle and return to the tomb?"
"Yes, My Lord." Rahkikh and Thaszan answered with hesitation.
With the death of the Warboss, the orks became disorganized, becoming an easy target for the Necron forces, when the necrons finished their work, all that would be found by the population of Hydrus Quintus would be the remains of the ork fleet consumed by the storm.
Omake: What if the tomb had awakened earlier?
After the battle with the orks, my forces and I returned to the tomb for a well-deserved repair. I sat on my throne while Haratek and a group of scarabs worked on repairing my body.
"I'm sorry my lord, if I were there to help you." Haratek said as he sent excuse after excuse.
"Please stop Haratek, I gave you a mission and you successfully accomplished it, the only one to blame for the damage I suffered is me, I should have fought better." I replied, resting my head in the palm of my hand.
"My Lord, don't say that…" Haratek's attention was diverted to a screen that opened in front of him.
"Is there a problem, Haratek?"
"No, my lord, I just received information from the data network of the inhabitants of this planet. It looks like an important person is coming to Hidrus Quintus."
"Serious? Who?"
"One Goge Vandire."
"SHIT!"

I found it interesting when I saw it, the Wiki and the Lexicanum sometimes have information that the other does not, so I decided to include this function of the staff here.
