After a short walk, Ad and Natsuki reached the Pantheon. The first thing they did once inside was ask for Misha, as she was in charge of them. When they saw her, she was seemed particularly giddy. Which made Ad ask her if something good had happened.
As it turned out, Misha had been given total authority over the Guild's relationship with the Hestia Familia. She saw this as an promotion of sorts, and was happy because it included a raise in her sallary. Ad could see the real reason behind said decision from the Guild or, more accurately, Ouranos.
The God most likely found out about his immunity to Ishtar's Charm. That, combined with his attitude towards the Goddess, must have caught the attention of the first God to descend. Still, he was happy for Misha, as she would live even better now.
Adalwulf: Congratulations, Mi-sha~ I guess we will be seeing each other a looot more from now on~
Misha: Yes, we will! I hope you take good care of me, Adalwulf Captain~
Adalwulf: Eeeh? When did you learn to tease people like that~?
Misha: Just listening to you, even a little kid can learn, Ad.
Natsuki's face went back and forth between the two. She couldn't keep up with the speed of their conversation, and the fact that her brain was shortcircuiting from the teasing tones didn't help at all. In the end, after what she felt were hours of mutual teasing, she broke down.
Misha: Well, it would seem like we broke her.
Adalwulf: We might have gone a little bit to far when we began talking about babies. Anyways...
Misha: Seeing the state of your clothes, you guys look like you just came from the Dungeon.
Adalwulf: Indeed. We came here to sell our haul. You might be surprised.
Misha led him and Natsuki, who had somehow recovered from her breakdown, to a room in the back of the Pantheon. This one, unlike the one for interviews, had two tables big enough to hold a few monsters. Probably for the drops of bigger monsters and the Monster Rex.
Ad and Natsuki depleted the contents of their bags on one table each. Ad had two thirds of the Magic Stones, since he had killed the most. Misha's face was one of surprise, but not exageratedly.
Misha: Well, this is indeed a lot for your fir... Is that what I think it is?!
She didn't finish her words, when Ad took out the Golden Egg from a small sidebag he had in his belt. Misha's jaw would've touched the floor, if it hadn't been for Ad keeping her mouth closed with his hand.
Adalwulf: That is such an unladylike face you have there, Misha~
Misha: A Golden Egg from a Jack Bird?! You've just broken two record, guys!
Natsuki: How so?
Misha: The record for the biggest earning on the first incursion, which was previously held by Ottar, from the Freya Familia, and the fastest catch of the Jack Bird, which was held by the Ganesha Familia.
Even Ad was a little surprised. He didn't remember the Guild keeping tabs on records of anything in particular, besides Ais's record as the fastest in reaching level two. They would surely garner attention, as this would most likely be the talk of the next Denatus. Besides, he would be reaching level two before the Denatus.
Adalwulf: Then, how much did we earn?
Following his question came a lengthy explanation of how the value of Magic Stones was measured. Ad found out a Goblin's Magic Stone would always be rounded up to 250 Vallis, while a Kobolds would sit at 300. This helped him understand how the exchange rate was mostly held. That was when it fell on him. They had made a way too big haul.
Ad knew that with 300 Vallis a day, the three of them could eat two meals and still live. Just the amount they had earned from the Magic Stones would last them for around three months, if one only counted food. If you added the drops they'd have around four months of food. But if you take the million vallis that the Golden Egg is worth...
Adalwulf: We could live for around eight years as long as we are frugal...
Misha: Pretty much. Though an Adventurer can't take the pleasure of being frugal.
Natsuki: Well, if we take into consideration the repairing of equipment, buying new weapons, upgrading gear, antidotes, potions and clothing... we'd only have around two years.
Though it was still a lot of money, the amount they would have to spend on just their gear alone was hideous. Ad remembered how Bell's Knife cost two hundred million Vallis. This time, they wouldn't be in such a huge debt. And Ad knew how to spend the money.
Adalwulf: Well, we want to sell everything, Misha.
Misha: Of course~ It'll be my pleasure.
After a few more minutes of talking with Misha, Ad and Natsuki said their goodbyes and left towards the Abandoned Church they used as base. Ad had been thinking for a long time on where to move once they had enough money. But he then realized how much of a privileged position the Church was in.
Far away from Daedalus Street and the more annoying Gods. Very close to the Hostess of Fertility, the Pantheon and one of the Haephestus Familia Shops. It was even very close to the Cafe Wishe, a place he would certainly visit.
The only problem Ad had was which God he should contact to design and rebuild the Church into a Manor of his liking, so he decided to ask Natsuki if she had any ideas in mind. She said something that made him feel like a total idiot.
Natsuki: Well... as the Goddess of the Home, wouldn't Hestia-sama be able to design a house?
Of course! How had he forgotten that Hestia's Divinity was also related to architecture? Now, the only problem he had left was to hire a Familia to build whatever design Hestia came up with.
With a now better mood, Ad and Natsuki made their way towards their home, were a certain Goddess was lazing around.
