Chapter 184: Chapter 184

Under the shade of the trees, the fan club was in an uproar, all buzzing about the identities of those two individuals.

An Ruoxi turned to her friends beside her. "Go into the club and ask around. See if anyone knows who they are."

Regardless of the fans outside, Zuri and Azura successfully entered the film set. Everyone on set was busy with their respective tasks, accustomed to people coming and going, without batting an eye.

The two were led into the studio, where they saw Owen in the middle of filming. His scene partner was none other than the actress Xiao Yun, whom they had encountered before.

"Xiao Yun, is your body really recovered so quickly?" Azura asked in surprise.

Rhett, the assistant, gestured for them to step aside and lowered his voice. "She's filming with injuries. Fortunately, it's all dialogue scenes, nothing too physical. This production has already been delayed long enough, and the crew can't afford further delays."

"The director originally wanted to replace the female lead, but Xiao Yun refused. After two months of back-and-forth, they finally resumed filming. Now, they're close to wrapping up."

"Because of her, Ah Jing had to take on extra scenes," Rhett said, both frustrated and resigned.

Having been through the filming process themselves, Zuri and Azura had lost the novelty of it. The three of them sat quietly on the sidelines, waiting.

Ten minutes later, Owen walked off set, heading straight for the rest area. Just as Xiao Yun was about to call him to rehearse the next scene, he darted off.

Xiao Yun watched him leave in haste, puzzled, and followed his gaze, spotting the two young women seated not far away.

Xiao Yun recognized Zuri instantly—she was simply too striking. Even in the entertainment industry, her looks were of top-tier beauty.

What is she doing here?

What exactly is Owen's relationship with that woman?!

Seeing how close Owen seemed with that woman, Xiao Yun felt a pang of jealousy. She had tried to get close to him, but he remained distant, like a cold, hard stone.

She had always comforted herself, thinking that this was just his aloof nature. But in front of another woman, she saw a different side of Owen.

"Yun Jie, be careful with your health," her assistant cautioned as she helped Xiao Yun down.

No matter what Xiao Yun was thinking, Owen was in a great mood.

"Zuri, you finally came to visit!" Owen exclaimed, happily plopping down beside her. "I haven't even had a chance to congratulate you on your graduation. Are you planning to study domestically or abroad?"

"Domestically, in the Imperial Capital."

"That's great! My home is in the Imperial Capital too. I can take you out for barbecue anytime. I know some great spots."

Azura, who had been quietly listening, suddenly felt a sense of disillusionment. How could her cool and aloof idol be talking about barbecue?

Oh no, she thought, idols are best admired from afar.

"Sounds good," Zuri replied. "Owen, do you know anything about jade? Like blood jade?"

"Blood jade?" Owen was momentarily taken aback, then smiled. "I don't know much about jade, but I do have a piece of blood jade."

Zuri's heart skipped a beat. "Can I see it?"

"I don't have it on me during filming; it's in my trailer. Rhett, could you fetch the box for me?"

Rhett brought the box, and Owen opened it, revealing a piece of blood jade inside.

Azura and Zuri exchanged a glance as they saw the blood jade. It looked very much like Zuri's own piece.

Zuri picked up the jade, examining it closely, and noticed an engraving on the inside—one character, "Jing."

"This pendant is beautiful. Where did you get it?" Zuri asked calmly.

"This pendant isn't for sale. Normally, if you liked it, I would give it to you, but this one is special, so I can't."

Zuri raised an eyebrow and asked, feigning curiosity, "Does it have some special significance? Don't tell me it's from your girlfriend?"

"I don't have a girlfriend," Owen quickly dismissed the idea before continuing, "This was carved by my father for my siblings and me. The meaning behind it is unique. All four pendants were cut from the same piece of blood jade."

"Did your father carve any other pieces from the leftover jade?" Zuri asked nonchalantly.

Azura's heart was in her throat as she listened.

"No. After making a set of jewelry for my mother, there was only enough jade left to carve four pendants. There was no extra jade to give to anyone else."

Owen finished speaking and looked at her quizzically. "Why are you so interested in this?"

"Oh, nothing, just asking." Zuri smiled serenely. "By the way, what's your sister's name?"

"Feng Yin."

When he mentioned this name, Owen's eyes darkened, and even his tone changed.

"That's a beautiful name," Zuri murmured.

"I've never met Miss Feng," Azura said. "I heard she's not in good health."

"That person is not my sister," Owen's voice turned cold.

Azura and Zuri were both taken aback.

"Enough about that. If you want to buy jade, I can introduce you to some experts who won't let you get ripped off," Owen offered, patting his chest.

"No, that's okay," Zuri declined with a smile. "Is filming tiring?"

Zuri changed the subject.

"It's manageable. It's not a period drama, just a modern workplace show, so it's relatively easy."

After chatting for a while, Owen had to return to filming. Zuri told Rhett they were leaving, and she and Azura left the set.

Azura couldn't help but say, "Did I hear Owen right? The current Miss Feng isn't his sister?"

As soon as she said it, she smacked her forehead. "Oh my gosh! I almost forgot. The Feng family's fourth daughter is named Feng Yunyao, not Feng Yin. So, does that mean… Feng Yunyao isn't really the Feng family's daughter?"

After speaking, Azura looked at Zuri with wide eyes. "Zuri, could it be that you're the real Miss Feng?"

Zuri shook her head. She wasn't sure herself.

"Should we tell Owen and do a DNA test or something?" Azura suggested.

"No need," Zuri declined.

"Then how will we find out the truth?"

Zuri raised the items in her hand. At first, Azura didn't see them clearly, but upon closer inspection, she realized Zuri was holding several strands of hair.

"When did you pull out so many strands of my idol's hair?" Azura was both shocked and impressed.

"Let's do a DNA test and find out. Azura, don't tell anyone, okay?" Zuri said solemnly.

Azura nodded firmly. "Don't worry, I won't say a word."

That night, Azura and Zuri returned to Oceanic City.

At the same time, Nolan finally discovered who had provided the blood jade.

"BOSS, I found out. That person is… Zuri."

Grayson was astonished as he mentioned Zuri's name.

He never would have guessed that the person holding the blood jade was Zuri, that little girl.

Chapter 185: Chapter 185

"Who did you say?" Nolan was stunned.

"That little stock market prodigy, Miss Zuri," Grayson repeated.

Thinking back now, it seemed that this girl's impressive abilities might have found their source. Just look at the Feung family's genes—every sibling was outstanding in their own right. How could a biological sister be any less remarkable?

Nolan remained silent for a long moment, lost in thought. Then, a memory surfaced—her eyes, weren't they just as familiar? They reminded him of little Yin from childhood, those big, bright, and clear eyes that seemed to take in the whole world. Just one look could melt your heart.

"BOSS, should we go find Miss Zuri now?" Grayson asked.

"No rush," Nolan murmured, his brow furrowing. "First, send someone to quietly collect a few strands of her hair. Keep this under wraps."

After Grayson left, Nolan picked up his phone, scrolling through his contacts until he found the name he was looking for. His finger hovered over it, ready to press, but hesitated at the last moment.

Could it be true this time?

Over the years, there had been so many false hopes, so many moments when they thought they had found her, only to be disappointed again and again. Once, they even found a girl who bore a striking resemblance to his mother, but in the end, it wasn't her. Each time, it was the same crushing disappointment.

Could it be true this time?

Nolan had a feeling, but it was too fleeting, too uncertain.

Better to wait for the final results. If it wasn't her, he'd just pretend none of this ever happened.

Zuri walked into the third testing facility alone. She filled out the necessary paperwork and handed it to the nurse at the window. The nurse recognized Zuri immediately—it was hard not to remember her from last time.

"You again," the nurse remarked after checking the documents. "Need it rushed this time too?"

"Yes," Zuri replied.

After processing the paperwork, the nurse handed it to a colleague and glanced at the empty hallway. There Zuri sat, alone in the waiting area, her slender frame radiating a quiet strength.

The nurse watched her for a moment before turning to her colleague and saying, "I hope she finds her family this time."

The colleague glanced over at the solitary girl sitting in the hallway and sighed softly. "She's so young, yet she's bearing such burdens. Even if she finds her family, I don't think she'll be happy. If they really loved her, they wouldn't have let her drift alone in the world."

The nurse sighed too. "Maybe she'll be happy. Such a beautiful and strong girl deserves to be loved."

To outsiders, she might seem pitiful. But Zuri didn't think of herself that way.

While waiting, Azura called. Hearing that Zuri was at the testing facility, she rushed over immediately, taking a taxi instead of the family car.

As soon as she entered the hall, she spotted Zuri sitting alone in the corridor, her slender figure seeming so small and lonely. Azura's eyes welled up, her nose tingled, but she swallowed back the tears, took a deep breath, and walked over to Zuri.

When she reached her, Azura pouted and said with mock indignation, "You're so unfair. Coming here alone without telling me."

"I forgot," Zuri replied with a sheepish smile, like a child caught in a mistake.

In her past life, she had gotten used to bearing everything alone.

Used to facing everything alone.

When such a habit was ingrained in your bones, you forget that there are people you can rely on.
