Chapter 5: Exploring the Safe Haven
As the dust settled, Sijun turned to Dr. Kim. "What kind of resources do you have available here?"
Dr. Kim smiled. "We've scavenged what we could from the surrounding areas. Food, medicine, and equipment are plentiful. But our real asset is the research facility beneath the Safe Haven."
Sijun's eyes widened. "A research facility? What kind of research?"
Dr. Kim's expression turned serious. "We're studying the monsters, trying to understand their origins and weaknesses. We've also developed some... experimental technology."
Joon Woo's interest piqued, he followed Dr. Kim and Sijun to the research facility. The lab was filled with various contraptions and machinery, including a large, cylindrical device.
"What's this?" Joon Woo asked, his voice intrigued.
Dr. Kim hesitated. "That's our attempt at creating a... revival chamber. We hope to use it to restore humanity to those who've lost it."
Sijun's eyes locked onto Joon Woo's, and he saw a flicker of hope.
