Iris was stunned hearing his words. 

"Why do you feel that way? I won't leave you..." She said to try to convince him.

Xavier nodded while smiling at her, "I know. But... I'm just afraid that a handsome guy will steal you, so—" His voice faded as Iris pressed her lips against his. 

Xavier froze.

He was shocked because this was the first time she had taken the initiative. He liked it, but at that moment, he was puzzled if he should push her away because he was still struggling to hold back his thirst, afraid he might hurt her again. 

He tried hard to distract his mind while he felt her warmth melting his coldness. Before he could start holding back, he felt her pull away her lips. There was disappointment rising within him, but there was also relief because he no longer had to worry about harming her.
