Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Disagreeable Sasha
Today, Chloe should have her plaster removed in the hospital.
Daniel canceled his meeting and came back for lunch. Then they took their time to go to the hospital, followed by a maid, Helen, who took care of Chloe in her previous life.
Helen had heard about what happened between them. Seeing Daniel busy with all formalities in the hospital for Chloe, she couldn't help smiling with approval.
"Miss Chloe, I've never seen Mr. Bruce being so careful about any girl. He always looks unapproachable and cold. Thanks to you, Mr. Bruce is becoming more human for the first time."
Chloe smiled, "Helen, just call me Chloe. He takes care of me only because of the deep friendship between our families."
Helen shook her head slightly behind. In her opinion, it was just a matter of time before they got together.
After finishing all formalities, they entered the doctor's office. As the attending doctor saw Chloe and Daniel, he looked surprised, "Miss, look at you. Mr. Bruce is so busy and he even makes time to accompany you to remove the plaster."
"That's what he should do." Said Chloe, taking it for granted. She was always lively and suffered for a long time tied up in plaster, "Dear doctor, can you remove it now? It's too torturous!"
The doctor smiled, adjusting his glasses, "No problem. Let's do a basic examination first. If there is no problem, I will set you free."
After a thorough examination, the plaster was removed smoothly, which made Chloe feel refreshed.
"By the way, your right foot is seriously injured. Although your left foot is fine, do remember not to overuse it!" The doctor warned repeatedly before they left.
So as they went out, Daniel still insisted Chloe should sit in the wheelchair.
Chloe nodded and moved her ankle in a gentle way.
"It will take more time to recover from bone injury. Miss Chloe, tell me what you want to eat, and I'll prepare it for you."
Hearing Helen calling her Miss Chloe, Chloe corrected again, "Helen, please just call me Chloe."
Helen agreed with several nods.
Now Chloe felt satisfied. When she looked up, she saw someone familiar not far away. She wanted to call her subconsciously, but somehow she failed to make any sound.
"Daniel, why are you here?" Laura saw them but only greeted Daniel.
Daniel nodded slightly, "To accompany Chloe to remove the plaster."
Chloe lowered her head, avoiding seeing Laura, but she knew she was looking forward to her care in secret.
"Well, thank you for this. Kevin had an acute fever last night and was sent to the hospital. Now I need to go and check on him first."
The next second, Laura hurried to leave, with her high heels kicking loudly on the floor.
Disappointed, Chloe stared at Laura's back in a daze, and her depression became more and more intense in her chest.
Helen also felt her depression. She looked at Daniel and he shook his head, indicating they should give her more private time.
So they stayed here in silence for a while. Then Chloe said slowly, "Helen, I am tired."
Daniel sensed her sobs, his hands tightening on the wheelchair.
In the car, Daniel glanced at Chloe who had been quiet since then.
Looking outside the window absentmindedly, Chloe couldn't let go of Laura's indifference. She took a deep breath but failed to relieve her depression.
It seemed that Laura had been very careful since Kevin came back. She was trying to please him all the time.
Considering Kevin's childhood, Chloe could understand it more or less. But did Laura have to treat her so coldly for the sake of Kevin?
She couldn't get the answer and felt more sarcastic about it.
Laura treated her stepson with all her love, but she didn't even care when her own daughter removed the plaster.
Every time Chloe thought of Laura's cold attitude, she felt terrible.
When they finally got home from the hospital, Chloe went upstairs directly.
Helen took a look and was about to say something, but was stopped by Daniel.
He whispered, "Give her more privacy and she will get better later."
So Helen decided to cook something tasty for Chloe. Maybe it would cheer her up.
But Chloe didn't come downstairs the whole night.
On the next morning, an unexpected visitor came.
She was so loud and noisy. As soon as she entered the house, she kept chattering, which awakened Chloe from her sweet dream.
Chloe went out, looking at the visitor downstairs in a blur. Then she frowned.
"You woke up." Behind her, Daniel said.
Chloe pointed downstairs, indicating to ask what was going on.
"That is my cousin, Sasha Smith."
Even without Daniel's introduction, she remembered that he had a cousin named Sasha who didn't get along with her. But she didn't know why.
"Daniel, why did you wake up so late? I have been calling you this morning, and I am so tired!"
Sasha lived in S City and always liked to visit Daniel uninvited.
Chloe glanced at Sasha indifferently. All Sasha focused on was Daniel, so Chloe meant nothing to her right now.
While Chloe wasn't interested either. She just said, "Ask her to keep her voice down." Then she turned around and walked away.
After seeing Chloe walking back to her room, Daniel slowly walked downstairs. He looked at Sasha with a big suitcase and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
Talking about this, Sasha was irritated. She vented her anger, "My mom asked me to go to her company for an internship, but how can her company compare with yours? So I come and work in your company instead.
"Daniel, you won't refuse me, will you?"
Daniel didn't refuse. Nor did he agree.
Sasha took a sip of the coffee that Helen had just made but immediately spat it out. The coffee was splashed on the table, leaving the stains there.
Daniel's eyes turned colder.
Helen saw this and immediately came to wipe the stains off, "Oh, Miss, please be careful. Mr. Bruce really cares about cleanliness."
Helen didn't mean to offend Sasha, but she turned unhappy at once about these words. She placed the coffee cup on the table heavily, making a loud sound.
"You are nobody but a servant. How dare you order me?"
