Chapter 16: Chapter 16

"Let me get this straight.. I think I had some crazy hallucination. I thought I heard you say you want to attempt to kill a damned deity." Zeal sighed heavily as he knew he could only wish that was all in his head. Knowing well that Tyson was not one to make such a serious joke he pondered over it for a moment.

"Indeed." Tyson did not try to soften the blow of his idea in the slightest for Zeal. Not really caring about the man he was not willing to dance around his feelings. He only wanted to get the point across that he needed his help. If he wasn't willing to help he would just find another way to do it on his own if he had to because after ten years he could not tolerate much more. Losing so much to Numen's Garden he could not take the idea of continuing to lose more. The way things were going for him he felt like he might eventually break to the point there would be nothing left of him.

"I guess if my fate is to die at some point in this place at least It'll be doing something interesting." Laughing hard so that he could remove how nervous the thought made him he knew well himself that he was not joking. Zeal knew that as a survivor of the garden he was most likely bound to death within the boundaries of Numen's Garden. At the end of the day it was only a matter of when rather then how. If it was not at the hands of another so called player as Numen considered them then it would be at the hands of Numen himself. The only other option of death was by pure accident or lack of knowing how to keep yourself alive through the harsh terrain, some even died of starvation.

"Fate.. Something so cruel as that I fail to see how any of this was meant to be the fate of us all." Tyson spoke as he could recall everyone he had ever seen fall before him. Whether they were killed by him or another in Numen's Garden he could not find any way that it was suppose to be their fate to become lost among a place they would never be seen again.

How many lives who were considered missing in their home worlds have really been pulled over the years into this so called garden? He thought to himself while standing there. Carrying the burden of knowing the truth behind his own sister's disappearance ten years ago he could only imagine how many other families had the same thing happen to them. The only difference was that he knew where she really went that year regardless of whether or not she was alive. It was the garden that took her from his family.

"What about the newbies? Are you tossing them aside?" Zeal asked with a serious tone because he knew they would probably flee as soon as they heard the mention of Tyson heading for the mountain peak if they knew it was to face Numen.

"I'll tell them.. but not yet." Tyson's voice became stern before continuing. "Do not speak of this in front of them."

"You got it." Raising his hand up to halt Tyson's assumption that he was going to say a word to them he glanced over at the small house. He was not sure why Tyson was so fixated on those two.

"You know what I need you to do.. if we are to succeed we'll never have to see this wretched place again." After speaking those words Tyson turned to head towards the house with heavy steps. The rabbits he had caught were all tied around his waist and his dual bladed sword was in his hand at his side.

"Wait, Tyson.. I don't mind trying to help you with this but you must realize that even if I can manage what you'd need me to do it might not be enough.. He is a deity after all. How much damage could we really deal to the god who literally made and controls this very place?" Zeal's rant was on point. He could not see how they would be able to kill a god when that god held control over everything from the earth below their feet to the blood red sky above them.

"When you spend your life trapping ravage wolves together.. desperate.. blood thirsty.. and angry.. Do you really think they would never consider fighting back? Consider it, Zeal, how many people do you think are aware that their fate has been sealed since the moment they were brought here. Do you think they would all just sit and watch on the side lines if they were aware someone was willing to fight back for their sake?" Tyson did not turn around as he stood there in place speaking his final words.

Zeal had no further words to stop the man from heading back inside to the newbies that he was taking care of. Everything that Tyson had said to him slowly sunk in the back of his mind. It was true that Numen did not summon just any set type of person. All the people he brought in were sons, daughters, wives, husbands, people who had family and friends back in their own worlds. They all had something they fought for. Of course, there were many who killed simply because they enjoyed it but they still held a desperate desire to keep themselves alive to the bitter end. None of them wanted to sit back and just let themselves be killed.

Tyson did not need to speak the favor that he wanted Zeal to aid him in because from their conversation and the fact that Tyson was going to stand up against the god was enough for him to understand. The truth of it all was that he wanted Zeal to aid him with the populace because not just anyone would be willing to stand there and listen to the one they knew ranked first on the list of survivors. Being less known for mass slaughtering people Zeal held an advantage to getting around among the survivors. He could even contact the others who ranked in the top ten if he needed to.

"So he wants to entice the survivors to stand together against Numen, huh.." Zeal smirked slightly as he never thought he'd get to see the day before he died that a survivor wanted to unite everyone he could against the very god who brought them there.
