Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Waking to the blaring of my alarm, I groan. I've always hated mondays. Turning slightly I grab the alarm and throw it out the window. Finally some peace at last. The room is silent, until my brother enters the room.
"Mikey get up! It's the first day of school!" Jacob cheers.
"If you like school so much then just go without me" I groan.
"You gotta get up! Aren't you excited for school?" He asks excitedly.
"No, no I'm not. Now get out, because I'm staying right here" I reply.
"No you're not!! You're coming to school with me!" He shouts.
"I'm staying right where I am and there's nothing you can do, pipsqueak" I retorted.
Grumbling and red-faced, he storms out of my room. Muffled noises of complaining filled my ears. In about 5 seconds mom's going to storm in and pull me off the bed. 5...4....3....2...1.. Right on queue, mom storms in without saying a word and yanks me off the bed. I hit the floor with a loud thud. Mom soon after leaves the room. Her and I never talk much, ever since my parents had gotten divorced, things have never been the same. I miss my father and sisters, I wish my mom would interact with me like a normal person. In this world however, things can't be what you wish them to be. This world is full of super humans, people with powers. The government has called these powers "Quirks". I myself was born with a quirk more powerful than some of the pro heros, pro heros are basically cops but with super powers that beat up super villains. Heros here aren't like comic book heros. Hero's here go to prestigious schools to learn and hone their abilities so they can then serve and protect the public from super villains. This year I will be attending one of these schools. I will be attending Raemorth:Academy of super humans, it's the most prestigious school here in Taito City, Japan.
Getting up off the floor, I walk to my closet. Entering my closet I pull out two outfits, my school uniform and an outfit of my own choice. I stuff the outfit of my choice into my bag for later, I have work to do afterwards. After getting my bag ready, I go get changed into my uniform, pull my hair into a ponytail and apply a bit of makeup. I run downstairs after grabbing my bag, running into the kitchen. I snatch a piece of toast from Jacob, grab my long board and make my way to school.
Upon arrival I'm immediately hit with verbal attacks from previous classmates. They knew what happened between me and my sisters, because it was all over the news. They had pushed me to my breaking point one night and I snapped at them and used my quirk;, they had to be rushed to the ER as they were in critical condition. I didn't face jail time. I was just put under supervision by the government until they found a solution. Which in time turned out to be a way to turn off my emotions in a sense., I can't feel strong emotions anymore., I'm numb and even if I do express some type of emotion my medication dulls it to an almost non existent degree. People say I'm boring but that's not my fault, it's my meds. On my way into the school I'm stopped by some of my sisters' friends, they're facial features appear angry and become more enraged due to looking at me. The blankness of my expression seems to startle them, but they hold their ground.
"YOU STAY AWAY FROM KATELYN YOU HEAR!!! STAY AWAY YOU MONSTER!!!" One of them screams.
Afterwards they run off, it would seem that my sister is also attending this school. I don't want to get in the way of her academics, so I'll try my best to stay clear of her. Continuing on my journey into the school I notice in front of me is a small green-haired freckled boy being threatened by a grouchy blonde porcupine of a boy. Walking closer to them I learn the green-haired boy's name is Deku, at least that's what the porcupine says.
"Shut your whining Deku! You're just a quirkless wanna be! You'll never run with the best of the best, you damn nerd!!" The porcupine growls.
"Neither will you, you self-centered fool" I say.
"How dare you, you damn extra!!" He growls.
"I think the only extra around here is you" I reply nonchalantly.
"Who the heck do you think you are!" He grumbles.
"I'm Mikey and you're an angry porcupine, glad we're acquainted" I say, again nonchalantly.
Scoffing he says "whatever just stay out of my way you damn extra".
The porcupine proceeds to walk off, entering the building soon after. Deku turns to me with an embarrassed blush on his face.
"Thank you for saving me from him, I thought I was a goner" He laughs timidly.
"No problem, I can walk you to class if you want?" I suggest.
"Only if it's no trouble! I'm Izuku, Izuku Midoriya!" He chimes.
"Mikey, Mikey Takahashi" I replied.
"Nice to meet you! So what class are you? We might have the same class?" He asks.
"Um I'm in Quirk Course 1A? How about you?" I reply.
"Same!! It's awesome that we have the same class!" He says happily.
"We should also hurry! The bells are going to ring soon!" He exclaims.
"Here follow me, I've been here before, I know where we are going" I say.
It's the truth, I have been here before. This may be my freshman year but I know this school like the back of my hand. Just after the incident with my sisters, R.A.S.H had taken me in. My quirk was too dangerous to go without training, so while the government searched for a solution and my parents got they're divorce, I was forced to train and live here for a while. My parents divorced because they didn't want me to even be remotely close to my sisters so them splitting would allow the girls to live seperate from me, but I would also get the care I need to improve. Once I finished junior high R.A.S.H. brought me in on recommendations. They didn't want to risk me hurting someone else and my abilities were unparalleled. Walking into the building I turn back and look out upon the sea of fellow students, this year is going to be interesting and I can't wait to get started.
