Chapter 1: Author's Note
Halloo guys! I'm back, mostly. This is a new Fic I've thought of and have been writing for some time. It's meant to be a long-term project, and so I'm gonna be taking things slow.
About my other fic, Tensura: Legion of Death, it's discontinued, and there is a chance that I'll delete it entirely.
That fic does not live up to my standards anymore, and there isn't a chance that I will return to it, so I don't see any point in keeping it.
Although I was away from Webnovel and Tensura for a while, I have still been writing for other fandoms and can confidently say that I've improved in all aspects, so this Fic is basically my return to the Tensura Fandom.
Now, about this Fic; as the Summary suggests, it's a complete rewrite of the Tensura Light Novels, in my own vision. The story will divert from canon, some canon characters won't exist at all and some new characters will be introduced.
The story will generally be darker and grittier than the original Light Novels, focusing less on the Slice-of-Life parts and more on the action, plot, and characters themselves.
This story will have a theme, proper progression, and character development, at least, that's what my goal is.
Regarding Rimuru, since I know many of you will have concerns about that. He will NOT be an edgy emo protagonist who goes around killing everyone who looks at him wrong because hE HaS nO eMOtiOn. And neither will he be like his canon version who is basically a pussy.
He will be a complex character who will change throughout the story as various events unfold around him.
Lastly, about the Power System and Lore, it will change from canon. This is an AU. So please don't blast me in the comments when I explain some lore or power system-mechanic and it doesn't match with Canon. It will mostly be the same, but there will be differences.
At the time of posting this, 21 Volumes of the Light Novel have been published, and I've read all of them multiple times. This Fic is going to be based on the Light Novels, not the non-canon Webnovel. To the anime watchers and manga readers, those two are also based on the Light Novels. (Also, of course, SPOILER ALERT!)
I'm writing this mostly for fun, so I can't promise perfect consistency; I will write when and how I can.
