Chapter 13: #906's last moments

The first guard is saying something to me about his friend, their superiors, their job, and other crap, while I'm just staring behind him at his friend. When he pulled his friend back, he probably thought I was just going to let him go? I thought he was the smart one of the two… Even his friend, #906, realizes something is off. He probably wasn't planning on coming out of this encounter unscathed. That is when #906 notices me fixing the bottom of my mask and took the hint. Good boy…

I pocket the blowgun in my sleeve as I fix my mask and make sure that it is again covering my chin and neck. The first guard is ranting with his eyes closed so he doesn't notice this movement.

#906's eyes go wide realizing his mistake, and knowing that it is far too late to do anything about it. His friend stops talking all of a sudden and #906 tries to tell him that something is up, or at least that is what I think he would have said if he could make his mind form the words at the moment. A couple of seconds later, and TIMBER!

He collapses, dead before he even hits the ground. It takes a minute for the first guard to snap out of the trance he was in, staring at me. Now there is my reason to kill this guy, huh? None of them know enough courtesy to know you don't stare at people here in the Mafia, even if you are in the same clan— heck the same Mafia family.

The first guard turns around to see his friend on the ground and he can probably guess there is no use checking if he is alive. When he turns around I am able to get enough of a glimpse at his name tag, which the guard uniform covers with a flap so that you are able to show it to whomever you wish and not to those you don't. Pretty neat design other than the fact that when you turn quickly, the flap is not heavy enough to stay down, despite being weighted.

Arthur, #905. Ah, so they really must have trained together. Well, raised together, die together. Just to be kind, should I kill them in the same way? I killed #906 with a tiny pouch full of poison, about the size of a bead. I hand make them to perfection! The poison inside is Curare, that I personalized to make it easier for me to work with. I typically do not like working with poisons, but in cases like this, I'm fine with it.

I modified the Curare so that when the pouch enters your mouth, it breaks on impact. Whether that is when you chew it, crush it with your tongue when you are drinking, or it hits the back of your throat when I shoot it out of a blowgun like I did here. It then fully numbs your mouth. When I modified the Curare, I made sure that it does that immediately. Although that would have happened with time, because I kept the original side effects of the poison, which is full body paralysis and most times fever. People often also pass out because of this poison, so when they are poisoned, it just looks like they passed out from heat stroke or some other reason that leads to loss of consciousness. It also makes your organs fail due to the fact that they are also paralyzed, but it could be determined that they stopped working after the man had died from what seems to be a heart attack, lung failure, etc. I also added an effect so that the poison will make you semi delusional right before death, that is why I said 'I think' #906 was going to warn Arthur. Although in reality he was probably going to say something extremely irrelevant, but he waited too long and his tongue went numb to a point beyond use.

I'd guess that his brain then immediately went into an emergency lock down trying to find ways to survive… buuuttttt, his heart already stopped at this point, so it didn't do much for him. I like using poisons in these situations because I can continue to lead on the person in the front, as though I am listening, when I am really watching and inwardly chuckling at the one suffering in the back.

Now Arthur, Arthur, Arthur. Whatever am I supposed to do with you?
