Alex smiled, a genuine warmth returning to his eyes. "And you will. There will be a time when your strength and wisdom will be needed, more than you can imagine. But for now, let me carry this burden a little longer."
The young lad felt a lump in his throat, but he swallowed it, nodding in agreement. "Alright," he said quietly. "I'll try to be patient."
Alex chuckled softly, clapping the young lad on the back. "Patience has never been your strong suit, but I appreciate the effort." He glanced around the garden as if assessing their surroundings. "Come, let's walk for a bit. The fresh air will do us both good."
