Life F**king Sucks

"I hate my life"

Osiris spat as he looked up at the night sky.

14 year-old Osiris Inanis might seem to have it all when looking at his family. His parents are both powerful and well known figures in the world, his sister was the current CEO of all the Inanis family businesses (currently worth approximately $272 billion USD), and Osiris himself was currently enrolled in the world's best academy filled with the children of the world's most powerful people. However, there is one glaring, distinct fact about Osiris which he hated more than anything else.

He had no powers.

In a world in which practically everyone has powers, having no powers meant that he was a nobody. In fact, most of those without powers lived in remote wild areas or had gathered in small towns/villages cut off from the rest of the world.

Osiris, luckily, being part of one of the world's most powerful families meant he could live a semi-normal life as someone with no powers. But there were too many expectations for Osiris to live a normal life.

(please read world/story setting introduction chapter in order to understand the story better~)

When news about his parents expecting another child came into light, he was expected to be a future leader of humanity. His mother was the only X rank Saint in the world, and his father was not only an irregular but the only Z rank person to ever exist. His older sister was born as a SSS class saint and as time went by she made a name for herself by being a genius businesswoman. If anything were to be taken by all of this, one would expect Osiris to follow his family's footsteps and be a monsterous genius.

Osiris was born on the 6th of February, 2037. After 8 Hours of labor, and the broken hand of a father, Anastasia Inanis gave birth to a beautiful healthy boy. He had his mother's snow white silky hair and his father's vibrant purple eyes and sharp handsome face. Although Osiris was only just born, his eyes seemed to contain wisdom and power. While gushing over her newborn son, Anastasia told a butler to quickly bring a power testing device. Excited for the results his parents quickly put Osiris's Hand on the orb.

However, instead of the expected pride and joy, the results made his parents panic. Normally even those without powers would make the power testing device dimly glow, but there was not even a speck of light. Thinking that the testing device was broken, his father, Michael Inanis, demanded the butler to go get another one.

The results were the same.

Seeing the results, Anastasia felt her heart break. She felt her eyes slowly starting to burn as her vision blurred and thoughts flew thousands of miles per hour in her head. A tear slid down her face as she started to weep knowing the hardships that were to come her baby's way. Seeing this Michael tried to comfort his wife by telling her that everything will be okay. While saying sweet nothings in the ear of his wife, Michael steeled his heart and resolved to protect his son in the future. After finally calming Anastasia, they both looked at one another, trying to think up a safeguard for Osiris's future. Just as Michael was about to speak, he was cut short by a voice in the distance.

"MOM! DAD! WHERE IS HE!?!"

The couple saw a figure blur through the door of the room and stop inches away from them. It was Valerie Inanis, the older sister of the newly born Osiris.

"AHHH HE'S SO CUTEEEEE!!!" Screamed Valerie as she carefully poked Osiris's cheeks. "AND HIS EYES ARE SO PRETTY!!"

"Stop it now dear." Anastasia giggled to her daughter, "Osiris and I need rest."

"But mommmm" Valerie pouted "He's just so cute and tiny...JUST LOOK AT HIM!!"

"༼ つ ◕ヮ◕ ༽つ"(Osiris)

The older couple laughed at their children's interaction, and the worry for Osiris's future seemed to fade away. The parents believed that they would be able to deal with everything that would come their way.

After letting Valerie play with Osiris, the couple finally managed to convince their daughter to come again after Osiris had his well deserved rest.

Silence filled the room as Michael and Anastasia gazed softly at their sleeping son.

"What will we do about him, Michael?" Anastasia sniffled "It would be fine if he was born in a normal family, but since he is in ours he will be relentlessly persecuted…"

"We will shelter him." Michael firmly replied "I will make sure that none will be able to hurt our son until we know he will be ready to deal with it."

As the couple saw the sleeping Osiris, they decided to protect him from the harsh realities of life. That one day Osiris would be able to proudly say that his parents protected him from the unforgiving and cold feelings of others until he was ready.

But what the couple didn't know was how wrong they would be.

Osiris grew up alone.

Wanting to protect their son, the couple decided that the best course of action would be to hide him from the world until he was ready. Staying on an island owned by the Inanis family, Osiris was sheltered from the world in a large and luxurious mansion. While initially, for the first 8 months of his life, his parents and sister would constantly hover over him, making sure he didn't get hurt and would answer all questions that he asked. Right around when Osiris turned 11 months old, his family slowly started to pay less and less attention to him.

He eventually was temporarily left alone in the mansion for the next 5 years, no one bothering to take care or come check up on him. Luckily, although Osiris didn't have powers or family to look after him, he was still a genius when it came to studying and learning.

By watching tv, playing games, and reading the news, Osiris had fully taught himself to read, write, and speak the English language fluently before he turned 1. He deduced his name was Osiris Inanis as it was carved into his bed and written on all the clothes that would fit him. By reading the books left behind by his family on different essential subjects and topics, he was able to manage the large mansion by himself and clean the exterior (including the gardens) of the house. Osiris had also found out that every time he was hungry or thirsty he could just go to a room filled with cold bottles of white liquid. He had also found out the liquid refilled itself as long as he put the bottles back into the room. While Osiris was content about being able to take care of himself, he felt a strange emptiness slowly growing within himself. He believed it to be the lack of familial love and connection. So, Osiris decided to search the mansion for a way to contact his parents.

As he traveled through the mansion to find a way to reach out to his parents, he came upon a room with a picture that he saw often while cleaning the mansion. A photo of four. A tall, handsome brown haired man, with a body that seemingly held endless strength and vibrant purple eyes that was filled with power, standing to the left. A beautiful and elegant woman, with white hair and golden eyes, standing close and to the right of the man and holding what seemed like a white haired, purpled eyed baby, in her arms. Lastly, A pretty girl with the brown hair of the man but the vibrant golden eyes of the woman. Osiris could vaguely remember the people in the picture. He could vaguely remember the pretty girl and woman holding him a lot. He could also remember looking into vibrant purple eyes, ones just like the man in the photo. So, he had assumed that the baby was him. Looking around the room he found what appeared to be a phonebook, one that was hand written. Osiris decided to try the first number under the name "secretary" and ran to the phone that was always in the living room. He entered the number and waited quietly as the phone rang and was eventually answered.

"Hello?" said a soft feminine voice, "To whom am I speaking to?"

"Hello Miss. Do you know where my mommy and daddy are?" Osiris replied politely.

The woman giggled at hearing the cute voice and replied, "I don't know where your parents are sweetie, but if you tell me your name I can try to help you find them?"

"Yes!" Osiris blurted out. "My name is Osiris Inanis and I am looking for my parents."

There was a silence before a voice quickly replied "Uh sweetie, Where exactly are you? Are there any adults with you? Let me speak to them so I can help you find your parents."

"But I've always been alone?" Osiris replied

"Then how did you call this number?"

"I found the number in a room inside my house, Miss. It was first on a list under the name 'secretary'."

"..."

Silence fell between the two on the phone.

Osiris, beginning to get impatient, asked "Will you help me find my parents, Miss?"

"Huuuuuuuuu…Hey hon, Osiris was it?" The secretary asked in a nervous tone, "Do me a favor and just wait right where you are okay? I'll send your parents straight to you as quickly as I can, okay?"

"Yes! Thank you Miss Secretary!" whooped Osiris as he ended the call with a smile and sat patiently in his living room, not knowing the chaos that was about to ensue.
