Chapter 19: Getting Richer

Using his body as a shield, the beast protected the woman from the bullets and all the chaos thrown at it.

"Bruce," Betty said as she touched the beast's face.

"Arrgh!" the beast roared before picking her up and suddenly jumping out of the area.

Leaping into the air, the creature traveled over vast distances, its powerful muscles supporting its weight each time it landed and immediately took off again.

On the other side of the country, a young man could be seen strolling out of a library. It had been two weeks since he got sent here. He had yet to actually begin anything, but things were going great.

Oliver could be seen carrying three books in his arms as he walked out of the library. Despite their size, he carried them as though they were nothing.

His appearance was pristine and enough to make men question their sexuality, and above all, he was now rich. His luck may have run out since he now lost all the bets he placed, but his intellect seemed to be increasing each day.

"Have a nice day, sir," the librarian called out with a smile as he turned to leave.

"Why, thank you, ma'am. Also, please do try to get the book I asked for," Oliver said.

"I will," the woman replied as Oliver finally left the library.

He couldn't lie to himself; he was enjoying his time in this universe. He didn't exactly know what timeline or how things would go in this world, but for now, things were very peaceful, and he planned to take advantage of it as much as he could.

One way of taking advantage of it was learning and trying to set up his business. As of now, while he was rich and, due to his investments, could be said to own at least 1% of every major company in America, or at least the ones he remembered from the movies and fanfictions he had read.

This was the time when nearly every company in America was going through some form of downtime. Stark Industries was in a state of transition after Mr. Howard Stark's death.

Rand Industries recently changed hands since the Rand family had just been declared dead, or at least would be soon.

He may not be an expert in the Marvel universe, but the fanfictions were very consistent on what happened to these companies, and taking advantage of that was easy.

It was common knowledge that after Howard's death, the company took a punch to the gut as their stock prices fell, and then Tony took over and things went up again.

This meant that people sold their shares as soon as they heard of Howard's death, and he happily bought them until he had up to 1%.

The Rands had been missing for a whole week now, and some shareholders had started selling, and he, as always, bought with gusto. All he had to do was wait till next year so all these could start paying off.

The only companies that were safe from him were Roxxon and Oscorp Industries. Both were safe simply because they had stable leadership. Roxxon had its satan spawns that they called a board, while Oscorp had Norman Osborn.
